The drummer has no issue playing those songs and the vocalist sounds just as good live. It's insane. Seeing them in a few months
the drummer (Austin) joined in 2012, even before Lorna Shore release their First Album in 2015.

It's hard to hear the lyrics at first, but once you read through em once you can't unhear them. Will is really good at enunciating compared to some others in the genre.

i always had problems listening to deathcore lyrics , but same for me once i did read them i can clearly understand every single word of him. But pretty often i just hear the vocals as another instrument
Most deathcore lyrics are like that.
My goodness this comments section is ridiculous we get it it’s not your kind of music but you hardly need to trash on it for that reason alone the amount of work that goes into this music is worth a listen alone so maybe put a little more thought into that aspect before disregarding the music as “trash”

As a Lorna Shore fan who has seen them with their last 2 vox live and own merch, THIS is their best release ever

I love me some LS, and honestly ik it sucks losing vocalists, but I think it benefitted them and Chelsea Grin when Tom left to join CG! Cause now CG is more brutal and has a vocalist with such a wide range of vocals and now LS has Will, who is just a monster basically lol! Usually it doesn't go this way, but this is the most beneficial vocalist leaving a band that I've ever seen tbh!

@Dave I don't think there is much production on the vocals apart from the levels. Check out some of the vocal covers for that song and some have nailed it with no production

To those of you who either have already left negative comments, or are about to, think to yourself for a minute. This isn't the type of music that Mike or Daz, or maybe even Dave don't listen to on the regular either. But they are open minded enough to give it a listen, and appreciate it for what it is. Metal has many facets that make it unique, and in some ways, better than a lot of music that's out today. If you say "it's bad because I don't understand lyrics", that's not an argument at all, and completely disregard the musicality, technicality, and arrangement of the music. This is what modern pop has done. Stripped down everything else to focus on just the vocals. And that's fine within itself, but there is so much more to music than just a person singing. Even then, all the modern pop artists these days are good singers, sure, maybe having a bit of help with melodyne here and there (but who doesn't these days). But they all sing about the same stuff that other people write for them, for the most part. The originality is completely stripped away, and only a product for consumers. Love songs, break up songs, party songs. I'm not saying Metal is void of any of those types of songs, that can't be further from the truth, but what I *am* saying is that metal really showcases the talents of each band member, and it drives the piece of music to another level because of it. I like listening to modern pop too. My favorite pop artist is Lady Ga Ga. I'm simply just trying to get those who don't understand metal, and want to shit on it just because "He sounds like he is gargling puke and I can't understand him", it's such a shallow view point to have. If metal isn't for you, it isn't for you. That's fine. The least you could do for those who do enjoy it, is to either have a better argument for why it's shit (according to you) or simply appreciate the fundamentals of what makes a good musician, i.e. Lorna Shore has a fucking fantastic drummer because x,y,z, etc.

Those little breaths Will takes before doing some of his lows sound evil af. Like right before the very last scream, he takes this deep, super low sounding breath. He did the same thing on A Darkened Gospel when he was with A Wake in Providence, and it melts
It fits the lyrics. It's a dude lying in the mud dying and begging azrael finally taking him from this earth. So in that reference it is a perfect song.
You should do a reaction to Will's one vocal take of this song, that might give you more hints on how this could sound live. BTW Best fucking song of 2021

Always loved your Lorna Shore reactions. Even if it's not your thing, the fact that you lads sit down and listen to it with an open mind and find things to appreciate about it speaks volumes about who you are as people, and it's why I keep coming back as you're all fantastic individuals.

The vocalists name is Will Ramos and he filled in on tour for CJ after he got kicked out of the band, but unfortunately for Will he was only able to do a couple shows due to COVID. I can’t wait to see what else they put out! Will Ramos is on a whole new level and setting the bar high.

@@chrissears5482 can I growl like that? Absolutely. I actually can sing. I don't mind screaming in music but I prefer some melody to go along with it. To me, music like this are just going for shock value and not trying to sound good. The musicians are technically sound but I think they lack soul. Death metal fans, I'd venture to say, seem to be music elitists. Original metal fans were similar to punk fans they just wanted to have a good time, let out some energy and didn't give a shit what others thought. Death metal fans, yes I'm generalizing here, are like Jazz fans in that they think they are smarter than people who don't have the same musical tastes. They would be boring to hang out with.

Dave is spot on about the small venue thing..i've seen Lorna 3 times now?, at least. The best place i've seen em was the biggest, i wasn't a fan before it, and they made me one then. Any music like this is always jus for the fun of it when its at a smaller venue, but they are legit when u can hear em clear. I heard it miself!
Will Ramos, the new vocalist, is a beast. He's pretty young too. He's so good for someone who can get even better with more experience. From what I've seen he's amazing live as well

I don't typically listen to Deathcore, but I love this track. My buddy invited me to see them in september when they come to Atlanta and I'm kind opf excited and nervous.

You guys should react to BABA YAGA, Demolisher, or Agony by Slaughter to Prevail! They're a super brutal Russian Metal Band, and if you like this you would probably love STP! Or even some newer Chelsea Grin, cause their vocalist now is the old vocalist for Lorna Shore and their style is so different imo than it used to be, but it still goes soooooo hard!!! But it's nice to see a channel I like reacting to the music I love.

When you see the bands at bigger venues or at festivals for example they can bring that sound out properly and it doesn’t sound like a mess in a little room, the hard part is the vocal layering lol, they normally will stick to whatever the main layer is on that part, so the bits where he’s leading with highs thatl be what he does and so on. Unless they are like ice nine kills and all the members do vocals and their layers are actually performed live by each member. Iv seen bands like the black dahlia murder, as blood runs black and suicide silence live a lot in actual good sized venues with big audiences and they pull the sound off live just fine, I’m sure these guys would be no different
You'd be surprised how well good metal vocalists translate to live. Sure there is some production that goes into mixing the album, but you can only get by faking metal vocals for so long before everyone catches on. If you're vocals are nothing like the album nobody us going to be impressed. It's one of the things vocalist are judged on, can you do it on the stage. I think I've been let down more times by clean vocalist than death metal growling when it comes to album vs live.

I agree that most death metal sounds different live due to the size of the venues they play and other factors. However if you want to listen to great live performances check out any of Kataklysm’s live in Germany videos, I’d recommend Where the Enemy Sleeps or Like Angels Weeping.

Y'all should check out Orbit Culture. Best ways I've heard them described is as "Metallica, Meshuggah, and Gojira's love child" and "Sweden's Greatest Export", while those are big shoes to fill, I personally feel like they fill them well enough.
I think the brutal vocals are intentional. They build up to the chorus and make his “clean” vocals in the chorus that much more epic

I saw them live in dallas texas 2 months ago and let me tell ya. They were insanely good. it sounded well and wills vocals were amazing! there was like at least 200 people packed in there. It all depends on the bands sound guy, If he gets everything sounding well its good. but I have been to smaller deathcore shows where the sound guy is trash and eveything sounds horrible. It also depends on what monitor you stand by. like if you are on one of the edges of the crowd your going to hear the lead guitar a loooot. in the middle is perfect for the full sound. no matter where you are though you will hear those miced kick drums. they hit like a truck!

The heaviest thing I've ever heard was probably Burn Victim by Methwitch. It's not easy listening music but it was a lot of fun to play out loud at work when they said "no headphones." I'll show them.
