Does FUJIFILM have quality control issues, or am I just unlucky?

- Since I've been in Japan, I've had no luck ordering Fujifilm cameras and lenses online. Almost all of my photography gear has come from ordering online through sites like B&H and I've never had a problem.
Does Fujifilm have a problem with quality control? As I state in the video, the cameras fall on the shady descriptions from the sellers, but there's no excuse for the lens issues - they should have never made it out of the factory like that.

It's such a bummer when you've been waiting for gear to arrive, only to have to send it back! Have you ever had a bad experience ordering photography gear online?

I am from Slovenia, I bought a lot of Fujifilm cameras and lens, second hand, from private people, not having a single problem. XA1, 2x X-M1, X-E1, X-E2S X-T2, 16 f1.4, 2x 18 f2, 15-45, 35 f2, 60 f2.4, 16-80. I also bought X-T10, 18-55, 50-230, 35 f1.4 new from local dealer. No issues. I sold several pieces on line, nobody ever come back to me. This was in last 5 years. But I am avoiding the latest and the greatest due to high price and being now even too complicated. I don't need all the bells and whistles. Hipe you will find good gear once again.
I think it’s just amazing bad luck to not only have this as the first time I’ve ever had problems with used gear online, but also getting two new lenses that have to be returned - at the same time. I really do like Fujifilm! Thanks for watching and I appreciate your comment!

I have had this happen multiple times over the years from all camera manufacturers. It does seem to be getting worse though in the last 10 years. When I moved from Nikon to Sony in 2017 the very first new lens I purchased arrived with a crushed internal lens element! Needless to say it went straight back!
It’s the first time I’ve ever Ja an issue with a new lens - I’ve had to return faulty speed lights, but never a new lens - especially not two at the same time! 😆
No issue ever with Canon .. fingers crossed 🤞

I think you just had a bad luck streak. Currently, I have one with eBay I bought a Rode VideoMic GO II and the seller sent it to the wrong address that was similar to mine USPS confirmed that the addresses are different but since I am using a freight forwarding address nobody wanted to help. Luckily I have an email from USPS confirming that the addresses are wrong so I provided that to eBay support for the manual refund. Guess what that email was not included in my case. So I had to recontact another support specialist after another to make my evidence count. Oh, I forgot to mention that eBay closed the case not in my favor because the seller provided a tracking number. So I guess we all have good and bad days!
Man, that sounds like a total hassle! Ordering online is always a crap-shoot with used stuff, but having two new lenses with crap inside them was a mind blower. Fortunately, I found a store that had the 70-300 and it’s perfect- waiting on that 27mm for my XE2…. 🤙🏼

Yeah, the cameras are sort of to be expected when buying used, “buyer beware” and all that, but it’s the first time I’ve had to return new lenses. I know it occasionally happens, but two at the same time? FML! 😂
