I just bought a MYLR w/19" wheels. I researched this for a year. The deciding factor on getting a Tesla include 1) least expensive for AWD Suv 2) can charge on all chargers (with an adapter) 3)) have good tech and 4) regularly update the car's software
My first EV is going to be an APTERA 1,000 miles range next year :)❤
Solid reasons to buy a Tesla.
Just traded my 4 year old Model 3, with 55,000 miles for a new 2023 Model 3. They had a deal that allowed transfer of the FSD to the new car. The tires are the most costly maintenance item (original tires went 29,000 miles, replacements went 19,000). Got some winter tires in January and they worked well in New England.
That's awesome!
Love your videos for I learnt alot about my 4 years old Telsa Model 3 from you ! In fact I told all my coffee buddies about your site !
One question:- what's the good time to trade in for a new Model 3 or Model Y ? Next February when the majority of car sale is slow ?
Love to hear your thoughts, many thanks 🙏!
Awesomesauce video, Alex!
Normally i buy Fords because i have an Xplan discount. But, i still have a bit before i buy another vehicle.
Of course with my higher weight and lower mobility, i have been keeping my eye on SUVs??
We recently passed 5 years and over 100k miles of Tesla ownership and have been very happy. Definitely would not go back to a gas car, but may consider a non-Tesla in the future once other brands adopt NACS. In MN there are still too few fast CCS chargers for my taste.
Same here - I should have mentioned personally I think we are still 1+ years away from "seamless" access to the supercharger network on non-Tesla EVs.
@@Sibs I agree, at least a year + before it’s all seamless.
I’ve owned my Model 3 for 4 years. It’s the best car I’ve owned.
How has maintenance and reliability cost been?
@@Mabeylater293 It just came off warranty last month. I've had a few warranty issues. A control arm in the front suspension had to be replaced. About 2 years ago I had to have one of the wheel speed sensors replaced. These were covered by warranty.
The most expensive maintenance item was new tires at 30k miles.
Most, of course, don’t even need except on a rare occasion to fast charge so I find the Chevy bolt much more logical choice.
Maybe for those who don't travel much or have a second car.
A good option, but slow fast charging really puts a damper on things unless you don't plan on traveling at all. I know most drivers in my area take at least a few longer trips a year and want the ability to fill up quick.
@@Sibs you are right. I fit into a little different category because I grew up with no electricity, horse and buggy and going slow is something I do even with gas and diesel vehicles because of the efficiency also saves on maintenance . do go fast if I need to but if I don’t need to I’m quite happy going slower and so I do have patience with DC fast charging as well. If it’s just a rare occasion I can deal with it however, I do certainly agree with you that for most people that is, not the norm. Thanks for all the other comments. Good to hear people are having good reliability out of the model three after having it a few years that also is good to hear.
