“You’re pretty good at that” is one of my favourite lines in the film. It’s so mild. It’s a nice compliment. But also SO confident to announce his presence to her like that.
Kravitz really sold Selina as being a feminine woman, who was also forced to develop a hard edged by the world around her. This is probably the closest we'll ever get to a page to screen adaptation of Catwoman, and I loved it.
I like how Selina fights here, she takes a half second to size up Batman, knows she can't beat him by raw strength and just blitzes him, trying to knock him off his feet so she can escape. The look of surprise when he blocks her low sweeping kick was great on Kravit's partas well. Like "Damn, that should have worked." I like how she was swift and elegant, while not turning the fight scene into some WaiFu leg wrapping moves.
Totally. She gets startled, sees him and immediately goes for the passport, knowing she won't be able to beat him, she can only hope to knock him down long enough to escape.
@@SexedUpEddy In Frank Miller's Year One she only knew Karate. But that version of her training is no longer canon. In the new main continuity, she's an expert in about a dozen. That's what DC acknowledges.
That's not in this movie though - I would assume she most likely picked up tips on how to protect herself by the "working girls" in the club. A lot of the stunts you see her do in this movie are intentionally done to be possible in the reinforced heels strippers use, she hardly ever uses her hands. Which makes sense if she works in Penguin's club. It's one of the most genius bits of character design.
I can't wait to see how his Batman improves in the 2nd movie hopefully he learns how to use Fear better then he did in the 1st movie moving around like a Supernatural shadow should be how he does this time around
I was genuinely surprised Batman beat her so easily. Not because it doesn't make sense, but because of modern culture. Heck, even decades ago it was hard to find a male teammate dominate an action chick like that.
Yeah I was surprised that in this day and age where it's practically mandated that the male character gets bested by a female character in the franchise films now that it didn't happen here. Still should've let Colin Farrell smoke a cigar as the Penguin like he wanted. But nooo, smoking is bad. Never-mind that the part of the plot involves the distribution of illegal drugs lol
@@AvatarJian Well according to the directors they were going to do that but the prop cigars didn’t look good on camera quote “they looked like sausages”
@Tyler James heard about this. How hard would it have been to get a convincing prop? The real answer is they don't want to show a character smoking because smoking is bad. Disney has the same rule for its movies. The Coalition has the same rule for gears of war also.
That's what makes it realistic..in a real fight a seriously trained strong martial arts man can kill any trained woman in seconds... Batman is supposed to be an expert....
The part she was unlocking the safe is just like the ones that one of The Joker’s henchmen was using the machine to break into the big one at the bank in The Dark Knight, isn’t that right?
I know it would be a waste of time to show it, but I always wish they would put more effort into showing the art of safe cracking into movies. Catwoman just lifts the drill and puts it on a random part of the safe. Cracking that safe involves 5x number of steps than what they show.
this is the best catwoman/batman dynamic. I like how they showed batman overpowering her and grabbing the passport and just walking away.. but then after the whole struggle giving it back and teaming up with her. you know, both in the nolan and burton batman movies, they had to have catwoman make batman look like a bumbling buffoon. I absolutely love how in this movie, there wasn't any of that.. they were much more of a team but batman was kinda more in control and she trusted him. it was also a pretty great love dynamic between them i thought. he acted like such a stone wall but she kept throwing her charm at him and he eventually showed his hand by revealing his protective feelings for her by telling her to not make moves without him (which she promptly interrupts with a kiss lol). also, how great was the camera work when she dropped in and cracked the safe? it showed just in a few moments how skilled she is and how quiet she can be
Robat Battinbat is playing on Easy Mode. But in all seriousness if u look at the guard's head movements and where he shines the light it never goes over where the safe is which is exactly behind the wall Batman and Selina are hidden in front of. Plus the crew made sure to show a ladder with a towel hanging over it blocking his view of the safe at 2:04 to literally cover their ass lol.
I think Burton's Catwoman is the least accurate because she is absolutely insane and she has supernatural elements (revived by cats, 9 lives...) Nonetheless, it works perfectly in the Burton version and Pfeiffer is just perfect.

Well, if Trinity was a cat burgler…..which is what she is supposed to look like so I’ll shut up now.
Basically the same type of appearance they gave her in the Arkham series
It’s an art for her to be that aggressive yet feminine at the same time
