This is a great way to discover Dreamcatcher. They are a Kpop group, but they are also not like any other Kpop group. This is not even one of of their rockiest songs, this one is much more EDM inflected.
Scream was my first DC song and this was exactly my reaction to it, it brought me so much joy and shivers of amusement and now I'm such a fan. DC brings me so much happiness and their concerts live are just out of this world. Glad I am not the only one feeling this way!

Heavy metal genres are usually unpopular in Korea. So Dreamcatcher is working with songs that are moderately compromised with the existing KPOP style to survive in the KPOP industry, and as their survival time suggests, they are a successful girl group. (So their songs have some unique aspects.) And they have as many songs as they've been doing, and all of them are worth listening to. In addition, as the choreography was also worked as an element of the song according to the characteristics of KPOP, you need to watch the live performance.

I grew up in the 1980's watching MTV and listening to hard rock and metal. Dreamcatcher is one of the best musical acts in the world today, in my opinion.
Dreamcatcher aka The Dark Angels of K-Pop, Rolling Stone India called them as 'The Face of Rock In K-Pop'. They have been around since 2017. One of the underrated K-Pop group out there, probably because of their music style...they not that big in Korea but quite popular oversea.

Live they are impressive. A few weeks ago I went to mcontdown in Paris and Dreamcatcher was one of the main reasons why at almost 48 years old I found myself at a K-pop concert (the others being Ateez, treasure and Taemin). It was great, the atmosphere is indescribable.
That's the way it is. And a few weeks before, Dreamcatcher had a live performance in Saudi Arabia (with "Bonvoyage", "Scream" and "Boca"). It was also fantastic. Can be seen on the KCON official channel. It is worth it.
I've been into Ateez for a while (still my ult) and a casual Dreamcatcher listener, but after mcountdown concert (youtube - not lucky enough to see anyone live yet) I have fallen so far down the DC rabbit hole I may never find my way out!!!

New Sub here! It's ironic that you begin your Video about negative comments. This is exactly what this song is about. It is the 1st of the Dystopian Trilogy. it deals with online hate. I'm an OG Rocker, and let me tell you, DC may be the 1st Korean Girl Group going to the Hall of Fame in Cleveland one day. This deals with "Hear no Evil" The next is BOCA (Spanish for mouth) Or (Speak no Evil)
Hah, yeah that was me too dude. I hadn't really heard a keyboard sound hardcore and ominous like this. The driving beat, the badass drop you definitely don't expect the first time. And of course the blending / transitions between genres and instrumentation, and the variety of color in their vocals that still fit with a heavier sound somehow. Their title tracks are all decently different, and differently executed, *but* they work around a general formula. This has a benefit of being able to predict elements, but not their specifics. Yet it also *sort of* pigeon-holes them. But the second you set off on the B-Side journey, you realize that the formula is a tool for one thing they do, while telling a story, but the majority of their music covers a rather large field of genres. It's a pretty fun trip really, because you will get something different with each one. Some have performance videos, or dance practices, or 'special clips' where they act out the literal lyrics -though I would recommend a lyric video or just their official audio here before doing their 'special clips' because they are definitely entertainers and if you watch those first it will change your view of the song (not in a bad way, mind you).
Scream was my first dreamcatcher song. I fell down that rabbit hole and never came back out lol. They’re the only group I’ve ever listened to and liked every single song they’ve put out and I’ve been listening to kpop for about 15 years now lol.
Same, I started with TVXQ’s Purple Line (dating myself LOL) and Dreamcatcher is the ONLY group I’ve encountered without a single bad song. I don’t like kpop ballads but I’ll still listen to DC’s, and their intros are so good I actively seek them out.

Dreamcatcher is that one group that a lot of people who don't normally care for K-pop in general often still like anyway, because they're just plain built different. Nobody else sounds quite like them anywhere on the planet, and they've never betrayed their signature rock sound even a single time. They just keep turning out bangers like clockwork.
It’s because they maintain their production quality while wholeheartedly exploring various genres, I think. A lot of groups (including ones I genuinely love) have at least a handful of b-sides that are pretty much throwaways because they’re so painfully generic, and often don’t commit fully to whatever new musical genre they want to explore so the songs are end up milquetoast (limp Disney channel “rock inspired” songs should be outlawed). So far, Dreamcatcher’s output has been 100% creative or perfectly crafted, and Ollounder (+formerly Leez) usually manages to check both boxes while releasing music at a pretty good rate.

Congrats discovering DreamCatcher and Babymetal on the same day. Mark it in your calendar as you WILL remember this day for a long time. Both of them are absolutely unique and great in their own genre. What that genre is, now that is the hard question. The Japanese Babymetal invented Kawai Metal, which is essentially cute metal and pretty much they are the only one there with one main singer, 1-2 dancer/sub vocal and an insane good band. The Korean DreamCatcher took K-Pop and mixed in J-Rock, J-Metal, Rock, and pretty much everything. They are 7 insane good vocalists, 2-3 of them raps and a music production team that is pretty stable with little to no restriction. DreamCatcher does sometimes perform with a live band and they are great with it but most of the concerts are with backing track and Choreography. And ofc they are among the best dancers of the K-Pop industry as with songs like scream dancing at 200 bpm requires crazy good coordination and stamina. At some point you might want to look at the choreography to see it yourself. The sound of BabyMetal is more consistent on the Metal end. Contrary my favorite quote for DreamCatcher is that the genre of them is K_Whatever_the_hell_we_want_to_do. Although the main title tracks always have rock or metal elements mixed in, their B-Sides - that we call A-sides as they have the same level of production as title tracks - hold no restriction and they are just killing every genre there. They have R&B, jazz, trap, EDM, Reggie tracks, slow ballads on one end of the spectrum while they even have a J-Metal song (No More) thrash metal (Endless Night) Symphonic metal (Don't light my fire) on the other end.

Not bad. 👍 I was only able to pull that off two times last year in Europe and I'm in since end of 2020. Beside that three live online concerts until now. I thought about going to Paris two weeks ago but couldn't make it...they only had 2 songs if I recall correctly but the event was great (videos are up)....Psy at the end of that event...wow that old man is incredible.

The first time i was listen Dreamcatcher was with this song, at the begining it was too strong for me, I was not used to this type of rock/metal music, but as I listened to more of their songs I liked them a lot and there was a moment when I went back to listen to this song "Scream", and it was like a BOOM in my head, I don't understand why I didn't like it at first, now it is one of my favorites songs.

Dreamcatcher is a special group. Active in this line-up since the beginning of 2017. With music that is unusual in K-Pop because it is too hard and everything is mixed up. And therefore not particularly successful in South Korea. But they do their thing. All members can sing, at least 3 can also rap; everyone dances like devils. Unlike many other K-pop groups - which only have a few singers and rappers - the vocals change from one to the other - and no one is dropped. Also live. It is amazing. Have fun - you won't be able to stop being amazed.
A quick tldr on dreamcatcher. Theyre a 7 member group that has been around for 7 years. Their music draws influence from rock and more specifically JRock. Their music videos do have a storyline so its recommended but not mandatory to watch them in order of release.
These amazing women were my first intro to K-pop. Had to be this hard and rock to get my attention, and boy, oh boy, does the rabbit hole go deep once you're in! And so far, this is one of my favorite reactions to Dreamcatcher :)

Dreamcatcher is my favorite Korean rock group. Saw them live in Chicago in 2022. Amazing show. Xdinary Heroes is my second favorite Korean rock group. Their music video “Pluto” is a good one to react to.

InSomnias are usually pretty chill. From what I know, I think InSomnias are usually in the older bracket instead of younger. There still are younger fans, but from what I could gather, we InSomnias fall around the 20-50 age range. I think Dreamcatcher has the largest or at least one of the largest age gaps for fans considering we all come from different backgrounds. Some people are already in k-pop whereas a lot of InSomnias come from the music area in general. Really a mixed bag of people. Most InSomnias are not going to go after you just because of a wrong video because that's not cool. I would say InSomnias are one of the most wholesome fandoms in k-pop. Less attacking/hate and more constructive criticism and understanding. I've only encountered a handful of toxic or mean InSomnias since I've been with Dreamcatcher(since debut in 2017) so that's a good sign. This is a great way to discover Dreamcatcher. They are a Kpop group, but they are also not like any other Kpop group. This is not even one of of their rockiest songs, this one is much more EDM inflected.

Scream was my first DC song and this was exactly my reaction to it, it brought me so much joy and shivers of amusement and now I'm such a fan. DC brings me so much happiness and their concerts live are just out of this world. Glad I am not the only one feeling this way!

I literally only listen to their discography lately, being a deathcore-grade metalhead myself. They are something very different.
Heavy metal genres are usually unpopular in Korea. So Dreamcatcher is working with songs that are moderately compromised with the existing KPOP style to survive in the KPOP industry, and as their survival time suggests, they are a successful girl group. (So their songs have some unique aspects.)
And they have as many songs as they've been doing, and all of them are worth listening to.
In addition, as the choreography was also worked as an element of the song according to the characteristics of KPOP, you need to watch the live performance.

Live they are impressive. A few weeks ago I went to mcontdown in Paris and Dreamcatcher was one of the main reasons why at almost 48 years old I found myself at a K-pop concert (the others being Ateez, treasure and Taemin). It was great, the atmosphere is indescribable.
That's the way it is. And a few weeks before, Dreamcatcher had a live performance in Saudi Arabia (with "Bonvoyage", "Scream" and "Boca"). It was also fantastic. Can be seen on the KCON official channel. It is worth it.

I'm an OG Rocker, and let me tell you, DC may be the 1st Korean Girl Group going to the Hall of Fame in Cleveland one day. Hah, yeah that was me too dude. I hadn't really heard a keyboard sound hardcore and ominous like this. The driving beat, the badass drop you definitely don't expect the first time. And of course the blending / transitions between genres and instrumentation, and the variety of color in their vocals that still fit with a heavier sound somehow. Their title tracks are all decently different, and differently executed, *but* they work around a general formula. This has a benefit of being able to predict elements, but not their specifics. Yet it also *sort of* pigeon-holes them. But the second you set off on the B-Side journey, you realize that the formula is a tool for one thing they do, while telling a story, but the majority of their music covers a rather large field of genres. It's a pretty fun trip really, because you will get something different with each one. Some have performance videos, or dance practices, or 'special clips' where they act out the literal lyrics -though I would recommend a lyric video or just their official audio here before doing their 'special clips' because they are definitely entertainers and if you watch those first it will change your view of the song (not in a bad way, mind you).

Dreamcatcher is that one group that a lot of people who don't normally care for K-pop in general often still like anyway, because they're just plain built different. Nobody else sounds quite like them anywhere on the planet, and they've never betrayed their signature rock sound even a single time. They just keep turning out bangers like clockwork.
It’s because they maintain their production quality while wholeheartedly exploring various genres, I think. A lot of groups (including ones I genuinely love) have at least a handful of b-sides that are pretty much throwaways because they’re so painfully generic, and often don’t commit fully to whatever new musical genre they want to explore so the songs are end up milquetoast (limp Disney channel “rock inspired” songs should be outlawed). So far, Dreamcatcher’s output has been 100% creative or perfectly crafted, and Ollounder (+formerly Leez) usually manages to check both boxes while releasing music at a pretty good rate.

Congrats discovering DreamCatcher and Babymetal on the same day. Mark it in your calendar as you WILL remember this day for a long time. Both of them are absolutely unique and great in their own genre. What that genre is, now that is the hard question. The Japanese Babymetal invented Kawai Metal, which is essentially cute metal and pretty much they are the only one there with one main singer, 1-2 dancer/sub vocal and an insane good band. The Korean DreamCatcher took K-Pop and mixed in J-Rock, J-Metal, Rock, and pretty much everything. They are 7 insane good vocalists, 2-3 of them raps and a music production team that is pretty stable with little to no restriction. DreamCatcher does sometimes perform with a live band and they are great with it but most of the concerts are with backing track and Choreography. And ofc they are among the best dancers of the K-Pop industry as with songs like scream dancing at 200 bpm requires crazy good coordination and stamina. At some point you might want to look at the choreography to see it yourself.
The sound of BabyMetal is more consistent on the Metal end. Contrary my favorite quote for DreamCatcher is that the genre of them is K_Whatever_the_hell_we_want_to_do. Although the main title tracks always have rock or metal elements mixed in, their B-Sides - that we call A-sides as they have the same level of production as title tracks - hold no restriction and they are just killing every genre there. They have R&B, jazz, trap, EDM, Reggie tracks, slow ballads on one end of the spectrum while they even have a J-Metal song (No More) thrash metal (Endless Night) Symphonic metal (Don't light my fire) on the other end.

The first time i was listen Dreamcatcher was with this song, at the begining it was too strong for me, I was not used to this type of rock/metal music, but as I listened to more of their songs I liked them a lot and there was a moment when I went back to listen to this song "Scream", and it was like a BOOM in my head, I don't understand why I didn't like it at first, now it is one of my favorites songs.

Dreamcatcher is a special group. Active in this line-up since the beginning of 2017. With music that is unusual in K-Pop because it is too hard and everything is mixed up. And therefore not particularly successful in South Korea. But they do their thing. All members can sing, at least 3 can also rap; everyone dances like devils. Unlike many other K-pop groups - which only have a few singers and rappers - the vocals change from one to the other - and no one is dropped. Also live. It is amazing. Have fun - you won't be able to stop being amazed.
A quick tldr on dreamcatcher. Theyre a 7 member group that has been around for 7 years. Their music draws influence from rock and more specifically JRock. Their music videos do have a storyline so its recommended but not mandatory to watch them in order of release.
These amazing women were my first intro to K-pop. Had to be this hard and rock to get my attention, and boy, oh boy, does the rabbit hole go deep once you're in!

Dreamcatcher is my favorite Korean rock group. Saw them live in Chicago in 2022. Amazing show. Xdinary Heroes is my second favorite Korean rock group. Their music video “Pluto” is a good one to react to.

It’s funny you called it a rabbit hole. Cuz that’s kinda what this is. Jiu had once said Dreamcatcher was like a black hole; once you fall in you can’t get out. This group debuted in 2017 and have released a lot of music since then. Rock is their specialty and almost all of their title tracks contain it, while their b sides utilize other genres. Welcome to the Dreamworld. Should you decide to continue down this rabbit hole, it will take awhile but I don’t think you will be disappointed.

InSomnias are usually pretty chill. From what I know, I think InSomnias are usually in the older bracket instead of younger. There still are younger fans, but from what I could gather, we InSomnias fall around the 20-50 age range. I think Dreamcatcher has the largest or at least one of the largest age gaps for fans considering we all come from different backgrounds. Some people are already in k-pop whereas a lot of InSomnias come from the music area in general. Really a mixed bag of people. Most InSomnias are not going to go after you just because of a wrong video because that's not cool. I would say InSomnias are one of the most wholesome fandoms in k-pop. Less attacking/hate and more constructive criticism and understanding. I've only encountered a handful of toxic or mean InSomnias since I've been with Dreamcatcher(since debut in 2017) so that's a good sign.
