I appreciate you adding this lead in to the previous video. I also appreciate that mantra of knowing that you did everything you could do, even if the team member didn’t. That is key to keep in mind.
I know I fall into that trap of you ‘should’ be able to do it with what I have shown you. I have learned to watch when the word should comes out of my mouth. Should they really? Maybe I should, just try to lace up their shoes.

I find all your videos valuable. I watch them even if I’m not in the scenario of needing to dismiss a team member, it’s stored for when I do cross that bridge, and I will. Thank you i

When you said you were guilty about expecting people to just know their job, it reminded me of a story. I once had an employee who was really shining, and my manager wanted to move her to a newly created position under him. I tried to discourage it because I knew how difficult my manager could be to work with. But the employee wanted to take the opportunity and my manager also really wanted her. Within the year she was fired because she did not live up to his expectation. He expected her to know enough about her job that she could learn on her own.

Hi Makeda! Thanks for your videos. First, do you offer one on one employee advice? And I have a question for you.
I resigned from an extremely toxic work environment. Prior to leaving, I did not say a word to anyone where I was going. When they asked where I would be going, I told them I would be taking time off. I've now found out that a former co-worker told everyone, and now I'm getting calls from former co-workers after keeping it private. She found out through someone I work with now that she's friends with. Can I do anything about this? She has totally evaded my privacy.
