This logical pattern of thinking is very useful. I've done 7 fires for my business so far and made up some lie to try to protect their feelings everytime.
I have to fire someone this afternoon and this one hurts a lot because I'm convinced she is trying her best but I've realized that she will never improve and be reliable due to her repeating the same mistakes over and over. I've been giving her chances to improve in her work and her communication with me for almost half a year. But I now understand that the more chance I give her, the less she cares and that she probably thinks she's irreplaceable due to my attitude. You've convinced me to just tell her as it is. The truth will probably serve her better. Thank you

Love this.... In the beginning most of my fires were, "I don't know if its me or you, but I can't fire me so you gotta go." Feels horrible

I am a woman Founder and CEO and I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL and it is so needed for women leaders… I remember having to fire my first person and I love your discernment around the concept of of hiring and firing… can they train themselves?…. Also, how do you filter for culture…. Sooooooo good! Thank you… apathetic as a root cause… brilliant….Following my pattern… I think I fire to slow and I have to catch myself more!

Thanks Leila! Clear communication and giving them a chance to earn their spot back is my biggest takeaway so far. Your content is gold by the way 🔥

Love this. Thanks so much for sharing.
I just had to let 3 people go from my team today so I'm watching this and taking notes for future improvement in this process on my end.

The first time I fired someone, it was my first week being a fitness manager and I remember trembling handing their final check. Not fun.

Thank you for this Leila. Really helping put a framework around a situation I'm facing right now, and helping make my mind up about how to move forwards from here. The difficult conversation and owning what is my fault first is clearly the best way. Love your videos and sharing them with my team all the time!

What I absolutely love about this is the humility: Paraphrasing -- "It is not completely this person's fault, it probably has something to do with that I have not developed the skill to coach you yet."

Not everyone wants to climb during all seasons of life so coaching up or out will result in burnout or excessive turnover

Leila, Willie Mays went 0 for 50 at the beginning. The owners wanted to send him down to the minors. The mgr convinced the owners to keep him. Need I eleborate?
