Monitoring blood pressure is vital! (Pun intended) High blood pressure leads to cardiovascular disease - the #1 killer in the world, so finding and treating it can save SO many lives! The problem? Most of us can't feel when our blood pressure is high so the only way to really know is to check it. These 2 BP monitors aim to make it WAY easier to check and track blood pressure which can mean the difference between under-treated hypertension (leading to unnecessary organ damage), or too much medicine (leading to lightheadedness, falls, or worse). I've made individual review videos of each of these machines, so check them out for more details about each one. Feel free to leave a comment below with your thoughts or experiences with either of these machines. Thanks for watching!
Great source of information. Thank you. I received the Withings BPM this morning. I thought I was computer savvy but the material that came with it was useless. The instructions were so light and difficult to see and the print was tiny. The setup coordination between the unit and the APP was not user friendly at all. The band was slow and sloppy putting on and the unit was difficult to put in the right place was cumbersome. I played with it for three hours and when I saw a $9.99 monthly fee I wrapped it back up and it's going back.
Thanks for watching. And thanks for the feedback. Someone else in the comments was able to find a way to use it without the fee but I totally understand the frustration. You definitely want to have reliable home medical equipment that's easy to use.
Excellent report, thank you Dr. Zain! I have the Omron and I love that it is automatic (no stethescope), easy to put on correctly, fast, and accurate. Frankly, I write my BP and BPM data in my daily agenda, so I dont care about the bluetooth or logging functions. And I got my Omron on Ebay for only $60 with free shipping.
Omron Evolv Android a app works smooth not a single problem, always connected and never fails. I went with the Evolv because I think is better at reading accurate, is easy to put in your arm by yourself and therefore is a lot more accurate because you placed properly in your arm, they have almost exact same features.
I use MedM Health to connect to my evolv. The software connects to a ton of different Bluetooth devices. My Android version works fine. (They do have an apple version but I have never used it.) MedM does synch to both Apple Health and Google Fit.
Unlike the majority of people. The OMRON machines both this one and another similar model were very inaccurate for me when compared to a manual reading in the office. (OMRON was +15-20). My theory is the cuff didn’t fit me well, even though my arm isn’t significantly large nor small.
Thank you for this very polished video. I had an surprise elevated BP reading at my eye exam yesterday, so have resolved to watch my pressure more closely. Yours is the first video I've seen on the topic! I wanted to see one from a doctor, not some AI bot with ten reviews. I have a withings scale at home, and it's a terrific device. Its web logging is fantastic. So I am biased toward Withings. I'm not a fan of that BP readout though. It's strangely illegible. Thanks for all your work.
Thanks for your feedback and your very kind words! I really appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts. If there's anything else you'd like to see a video about feel free to let me know.
Does the Withings BPM Connect work when you are connected to ANY wifi? When you travel, for example? Do you have to go through a cumbersome setup to add new wifi's, or is integrated with your phone's OS (e.g., iOS), so if any device connects to wifi the phone app will sync with the device?
which one gives most accurate readings , has those units checked using biomedical test units , bcz all those units got one pressure transducer , very low in accuracy, checked it with your mercury bps accuracy level
@@balanceandswing Withings replied to my complian and showed me how to access my historical BP readings for free, is not as straight forward as before but neverthless, I can see it without having to pay monthly subscriptions
I have a Withings body fat scale and a Withings thermometer (very inaccurate, switched to a Kinsa) and both work fine without the Withings subscription, full AppleHealth integration, etc.... From what I can tell, the subscription is for more "advanced" features and metrics. Probably the same with the BP Monitor.
It only tracks when you tell it to. It has to inflate the cuff and sense your BP that way. More devices are coming out that might be able to monitor your BP continuously without having to use a cuff
Hi doctor zain, i would like to know that the WITHINGS BPM comes with power code adpater and usb cable right.. I mean we can use the machine either by battery or else charging to direct current!
Bro I want to put BP machine in morning for my mother who is 88 years of age as she do not know to measure other digital cuff based BP I can put it in morning n kerp it there on her hand Now in india Omron HEM 7600T ( like Evolv) is avsilable, Bfurer BM 81 Easy lock bp machine is there similar to omron HEM 7600T Pl suggest which one is good considering her Age Also she is not tech savy in using and App.so she has to measure BP just by pressing button n she call me n inform her readings Now kindly suggest me which one is better sir ( omron is jspan & Beurer is Germany) Thanks n regards
Withings has perfect synching with Android Health Connect, as far as I know it's the only real choice for proper synching with Google Fit or Samsung Health.
Blood pressure can fluctuate based on a lot of factors so that might be the reason. Check out my video on how to check blood pressure. You should also take it to your doctor’s office to check it against theirs
I'm not sure - I haven't looked into that one. Regardless of what you get I recommend having your doctor's office check the accuracy of your particular machine.
I would call out the privacy concern with the Whiting as all your readings go through their server! Why should this be necessary??? I don't want to get spammed with blood pressure medications! BTW, I would prefer it if you didn't have background music while you are talking. Thanks for an informative video.
I always recommend people bring their blood pressure machine to the doctor's office to have it checked against the clinic's. Just because my particular unit was accurate does not mean that they all are.

In the UK: Omron Evolv 5 year warranty / Withings BPM Connect 2 year warranty.
Dude this is awesome getting one for myself and my parents.
Thank you for watching! Let me know how you all like it!

Awesome! Thanks so much for watching! Glad you got a good deal and are keeping track of your heart health!

MedM seems great! I hadn't heard of it before so thanks a lot for your comment
No, on the withings you can select the active user by pressing the button to cycle through.. when you see the right name you long press.
your advice was useful. Omron for the win. thanks Dr.
Anytime! Thanks for watching

Glad you were able to find out it wasn't accurate for you. You definitely want a machine that you can rely on.
@lauraforro just to follow up I replaced it with another OMRON (model 3 I think), but with the non preformed cuff and it is much better now
Omron measures fast, because the Korotkoff frequencies are measured while pumping up. Is the Withings the same or the legacy method?
From what I found, it's the oscillometric method
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8967988/
Which one is best to use with large arms?
The size of the cuff is what matters.

Combo machine EKG+BP is much better in my opinion.I have tried Omron machine and it works well

Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!

You forgot to mention, that as a user you can replace AAA.
Withings that battery eventually day. You have to trash that thing. So I am all for AAA
I like to see that you’re drawing your line in the sand. As long as you’re working on improving your health the best way you can, that’s what matters

Is there a monthly subscription fee for either device in order to perpectually store the readings? Is so, how much?
Withings charging £8.99 a month, silly money and the device costing £220 to buy, there a lot cheaper options
@@nofalelias Thanks. I don't know WHY reviewers don't mention this fee unless they receive a kickback from the manufacturer. Grrrr.

I love the omrom with my galaxy 24
Is this something you can wear through the day and it will continuously collect data for you? Or more like a tracks when you avtivate it.

A birthday present to myself!
Happy birthday!! 🎉🎂
It appears the Omron software has been updated to integrate fully with Apple Health. Can anyone confirm this?
Hi doctor zain, i would like to know that the WITHINGS BPM comes with power code adpater and usb cable right..
I mean we can use the machine either by battery or else charging to direct current!
Mine did
Mine did not come with adapter only usb micro cable.
You can get A micro cable and and plug for about £3 $3
Do you have any plans on reviewing the Garmin blood pressure monitor?
Thanks. Must be expensive but I’ll check it out.
Do you have a video highlighting the best sphygmomanometer for a doctor or nurse? If not, what's your favorite?

U should use omron.
This might be good information, but the music is too much. I had to turn it off.
Withings has perfect synching with Android Health Connect, as far as I know it's the only real choice for proper synching with Google Fit or Samsung Health.
I have a omron series 7 , 20 times tested , 20 times different reading , I don’t know wichone is better?
Blood pressure can fluctuate based on a lot of factors so that might be the reason. Check out my video on how to check blood pressure. You should also take it to your doctor’s office to check it against theirs
Ir what about Beurer BM81 wireless BP monitor ? Is this better than Omron Evov BP monitor?
I'm not sure - I haven't looked into that one. Regardless of what you get I recommend having your doctor's office check the accuracy of your particular machine.
thanks Dr..

How about Garmin?
And i cant bet my withings to connect at all. NO SUPPORT from withings.
Sorry to hear that
The truth is everybody will go for Omron
Omron wins hands down.
Leannon Turnpike
Harber Loop
Still no lithium ion batteries for these things yet lol? Wow lol
Standard user replaceable batteries are so much better.
Agreed.
