Scrapman you can mine the different trees around you and get resources from them like silicone and you can break/mine the Electric trees from a safe distance outside of their attack range.
You can use ammo weapons to damage and destroy the Electric trees at a decent speed or with your mining resource lasers at a very slow speed.
You can get a lot of lithium ore for mining the Electric trees.

The grey boulders contain Lithium.
And using the right connectors and mounts you can reduce the battery load.
For instance using the axles for wheels and weapon mounts for weapons.
Oh and fragmenter processes the resources giving you more resources than what you get by using the resource lasers.
The boulders give silicon. Lithium comes from the aggressive plants.

And I haven't even gotten to try this game yet... My system won't handle it... It BARELY handles Terratech, Never mind the Worlds... And with that said... From the title it sounds like the reason the planets are so close... POSSIBLY OFFWORLD STUFF... maybe... IDK... Would be cool if they go that far.

As for going offworld, that would be cool. But at the same time, there weren't even any air type parts shown in the demo. So who knows.

This game looks like it has so much potential. My hope is that it's not just a sandbox and there's actually a nice progression/story.
Omg I was actually WAITING for more terratech content, this reminds me of when I used to watch this channel.
so, intereting insights to the lighting. also something to keep in mind for later: If for whatever reason a tech becomes too tall, it may run into the splash damage again. It looks like to shleter your vehicle from lighting, you need to prevent lighting from landing within a certain radius of the tech blocks.

Silicon is from rocks/boulders; If you get that far along Gold is in the quartz crystals, not allot of them in the demo map tho.

Hey scrapman ! I watched your Terratech Lets play, and i realy think you should do another one because the game has changed a lot, many things have changed, there are two new factions, overboards, you can add paintings to your techs and there are NPCs now ! The game is not just wandering around and doing the same quests again and again anymore ! it is a way better experience now !

You need to build the lightning rod to protect your base! There's also a vehicle based lightning rod (however, it uses energy to run)
That unlocked Weapon Mount that seats 3 Top Connectors on it is a decisive unlock to obtain... try parking THREE Resource Lasers on it sometime... ;)

The base building, item crafting and refining are very similar to a game called No Man's Sky. So is the openworld planet to gather recourses from.
I can see the infuence coming from that game!

I loved this game soo much, I was sad when the demo ended
I don't know if they fixed this in the demo or not, but I've found out that if you put a block of compacted carbon into a carbon reactor, it kind of breaks it. By breaking it, I mean in a good way. It won't actually burn/consume the block as the timer won't appear for how long it will last. It seems to last forever as I've played a few hours with like 16 in one reactor and that number hasn't changed, but the reactors still provides power. So if you want unlimited energy in the demo, stick a compacted carbon cube into the carbon reactor.
Actual tips for the game. I've found a small amount of lithium and they've been an RNG small drop from those bulbous plants. The ones that pop out and yeet you. If you destroy them, there's a chance they'll drop lithium. If you're running out of space for things, make a kind of "garbage" pile of parts you're not going to use, like all of your basic wheels and stuff, and then use the Resource Laser on them. You should be able to break them down into iron and carbon. The benefit of the Fragmentor is that if you pay attention to your mining, you'll see the health of a node go down, but also the percentile of resource in it go down. The Fragmentor lets you get more resources because you're not having to laser them into nothingness.

i played this demo, its really good. you can STEAL the other bases parts and raid their stuff, might help you complete the contracts. also, you can be more aggresive with those shooting plants, your not as dumb as the AI techs so dont let the scattered parts scare you

Sounds like you have throat problems well if that's the case take honey boil it for just a tad bit and take sliced onion but the honey shouldn't be to hot or else it will take away the stuff in the onion to help you but if you did al of this put it in a container and pressure seal it and let it stand for a couple days and if it's done take a spoon full of only the honey wen you feel you throat is getting sour or if you start coughing I hope this helped

Just sayin', the Yard Storage needs to be connected on the same level AND directly to the Tech Yard itself or Yard Extensions in order to function. If it is just on the base It won't work.
