- Welcome to another episode of Trailmakers! Today we are building our own rockets launched from a plane! We have to fire them at a flying target and who ever can hit the target first will win!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

You've done water rockets (torpedoes), you've done air rockets, why not do ground rockets? An uncontrolled car with bombs, that you can launch from a bigger car

The reason your old rocket build was massive is because of 3 reasons,
1: skill level
2: oldrockets required seats to work and engines to explode
3: we have alot more flight friendly parts today
Multi-player Idea: use these rocket planes to chase and take down a player in a ground vehicle

On the topic of deployable explosives you could build, maybe a battle between creations that can deploy mines? Sea and land?

Redo your old generations videos with the new guys. Even with the old guys lol. It’s been a long time and with new parts and interactions. They’d be totally new videos.
If you want a challenge you could try doing guided missiles next which have to fly straight up before turning & you could potentially use them to do an air-battle, however a target would also work.
i think the new space blocks will help make missiles with the gyro and stuff. i personally like to make weapons like this and being able to simplify a 12x2x2 long tunnel into, what? 6x2x2? doesnt sound like much but considering it is one component thats really helpful!

This whole rocket thing and the artillery battle from the other day on scrap mechanic makes me think maybe revisiting the whole turn based artillery you done before but on this map and with ICBM made rockets
Next idea
Grab few of that rocket, put it on tank, and set it on barrage (bring more friends) and see who can build the best tank that can handle that "Rocket Barrage"
If you want a similar video idea to do with 3-4 people, you could do flying anti-air cannon vs rocket shooting planes. 2v2 or 2v1 style. If it’s 2v2 then one member makes the plane, the other makes the target. the timer ends when both airborne anti-air cannons are either disabled or shot down, if it’s 2v1 than it’s 1 airborne anti-air cannon vs 2 rocket planes.
maybe you could build guided rockets that have a camera on them and a copilot who controls them after launch
I think part of why Scrapman had more success is just that he had just a wider range of error with his 2 rockets flying together then Yuzeis 1 big one.
Yzuei made a good missile. But, probably not for this target type. Maybe better suited to do cruize or skim drops.
Although it wasn't as effective, it'd be interesting to see you both take Yzeui's missile concept and see how far you can push it: Make one giant missile that's auto-stabilized _and_ uses distance sensors to detect targets and adjust its trajectory mid-flight. You'd still have to make sure your piloting aim is good, but the missile should be able to make its own corrections within 50 meters and always hit the target
12:05 the reason why your rocket/missle didnt go straight is because yzuei hit you and took the tailfins out which made the rocket spin out
I liked more scrapman's design. Yuzi just made a giant rocket that doesn't really need to be that accurate
I would like to see stationary rockets: make a stationary vehicle that fires self made rockets, maybe do like a decreasing complexity challenge with them if that’s to easy

it would be cool to see a version of this where its a 2v2 with one missle plane that tries to take out a target or bunker and one player who uses a fighter or just two fighters and two missle bombers with either first to take out the target or fastest time wins depending on team layout.
Idea: Vehicle battle.
Just build anything that will hopefully get you the win. Let's see Howmush destruction we can see when you're only limited to your imagination (and the 700 block limit).
Maybe build a plane with 5 of every weapon?
Maybe build a truck with 20 miniguns on the back.
Or maybe build a submarine that can fly so you can hide under the water.
I think it's will be fun too see what everyone comes up with.

Again scrapman's vehicle looks futuristic l think it's the livery that makes it's futuristic
Auto Deathbots? Like, fighting robots that are controlled remotely. No "trailmaker" weapons. Physical weapons only. Similar to what we have on the show BattleBots.
It will be fun to watch your air - to sea cruise missile competition
Cargo plane battles. Meaning giant planes, (4 smart cannons, 2 mini guns , no rockets because rockets do too much damage, 1 of the like pirate ship cannons).
Scrapman was screwed up with his own plane not being stable enough to aim properly
With the simple and effective sticks like his he would hit every time if he was stable when low speed aiming.
Same sort of challenge. You have to build a rocket, and a plane to drop said rocket. How ever your seat must be on said rocket, and once released you have no controls (seat controls not allowed) on where the rocket goes.

I did this once. It hit its targets well and when I attached it to a stuka on the airborne map was so fun

I think making bombs would be cool, and the rule should be that they can’t have any thrusters

Day2 of saying to play space engineers
For straight flight, you can use a 1×4 wedge upside down instead of the nose cone. With the vertical stabilizers, it'll fly very straight. The 1×4 catches air resistance and trims the flight path upward. This negates the gravity drop off.

Concept: your in a pit, really doesn’t matter which, then make a giant cannon that shoots down from above (the users locked in a top down perspective like an air strike)using a movement mechanism similar to a claw machine, then have everyone else try to survive in their car they made, whoever destroys all the cars the fastest wins.
I recommend rockets but you could experiment with different guns
Side (idea): Could you do cluster missiles next? Drop a spinning 9 cluster of dynamite or something?
It would be awesome if you made self aiming missals to shoot planes out of the sky.
Here's an idea precision bombing where you have your seat in the bomb and your only allowed 5 degrees or less of fin movement and whoever is closer to the target's center wins the round. if that's too simple then you can set a speed you must fly to drop the bomb you control

You could only have guns that shoot up and have land vehicles, you would have to limit where you could go so that you couldn’t just keep driving

I think you can use heli servos+angle sensors to better control of the plane. It can be especially useful for pitch)
Day 28 of asking scrapman to play crossout.
Idea: must create a plane that can be piloted into the air, then you must be able to get out of the seat (which starts a self destruct timer but can keep engines running to keep flying straight), then quickly enter a vehicle of some sort that the plane is carrying, then drive/fly that out of the plane before it self destructs and land safely near an objective within a time limit. Quickest to land wins the round, auto loss if the plane self destructs before you are able to get out, point deductions for damage on landing and landing too far from the planned objective.
Both of scrapman's missiles actually hit at 17:32

maybe first person endurance racing around the whole airborne map until u do 3 laps or there is only one person still going? u can only use asphalt tires and no thrust/halicopter engines etc, the whole handling have to be engines and wheels

How about a video where one person controls the rocket and another flys the plane versus one or two people in a weaponized zeppelin
Suggestion: Kamikaze Planes vs. Kamikaze submarine.
Submarine objective: "sink" the aircraft carrier by ramming into it.
Plane objective: locate and destroy submarine by doing a kamikaze dive.
Planes must have no weapons. Submarines can have weapons for anti-air.
Start with names hidden and submarines submerged. If the submarines are found, they have surface and fight off the planes with their guns while on their way to ram the carrier.
SAM truck vs bomber plane. Plane has moveability and splash damage from hitting ground near the truck but as a bomber would have to fire second when its close to over the SAM truck & its projectiles are "dumb" bombs where the SAM truck gets to shoot first and has more accurate missile projectiles but less maneuverability and no splash damage assist. Might take a little tweaking to find a fair balance between bomber payload size and SAM truck missile homing ability as huge blast radius bombs would just be super easy as would extremely precise homing missile. My suggestion is build the bombs and missiles first together so that they can be standardized so to speak.
Tbh scrapman i think alot of your builds are ugly but those rockets were incredible.
Have you created a sublaunched rocket yet? You know, the sub fires the weapon up through the water, it exits the water at speed and the rocket engine kicks in. Then it explodes if it hits (or maybe optimally) gets near a target. I imagine it'd be pretty hard to overcome the drag from the water turbines while still making it compact enough to have it on the sub so its forward momentum isn't wrecked. You could modify the target drone to be horizontal or held up with balloons instead of gimbals or something to have it sort of drift slowly along at 200 m or something.
You basically replicated the “Tiny Tim” rockets and F4-U Corsair from WWII with your plane and delivery… since they moved just barely faster than you hitting the carrier, lol.

A fun idea for the next anniversary of Chuck Yeager’s Breaking the Sound Barrier in the Bell X-1 would be for you and a friend to replicate the drop-launch from the B-29 and supersonic flight with a rocket plane in game. Had the idea since you built rockets.
You could make a ground torpedo.

My concept for this would be a rocket/missile that is very stable like a gyro or something to keep it upright and something on it to keep it on the right distance above the water and if that doesn’t help i would make it as fast as possible with quantum things on the back like what ScrapMan on his but with the blue energy coming out of it to make it be at a 180° angle to the water
Now you have to shoot each-other with rockets. Fighter vs bomber, fighters respawn with rockets, big bomber gets 4 turret guns but can't repair/respawn. Most bomber loops around the island wins.

The amount of times I yell at Scrapman to remind him of things he has done previously is crazy.
Shoot both youre repairing after every shot anyway and you hit it when you realized you need to aim high and then second time you kept lining up instead of aiming above again.

you could replicate like that speedster challenge, where one person tries to escape, and spawns custom bombs, and the pursuer who lasts the longest time (or is lucky to disable the runner completely) wins (because the runner can repair to reset their bomb)
Here's an idea. Scatter shot tanks. Basically you have a group of either miniguns or smart cannons. Have them all point in the same general area. Then you shoot once. So treat it like a shotgun. The bullets themselves should be spread out from eachother creating a scattershot effect
Logoiuy has an excellent idea!! Design your own MLRS’s (multiple launch rocket system) and have them face off against each other!
