I hope the mothership has better defence. I hate that its just a poor pea shooter. It needs to decent or able to hold a reasonable amount of force alone. Not to mention this time it has all the trinity cores. All that power for nothing significantly new is maddening. I wished it had a few ion beam and actually decent anti fighter, thats enough for it to not suck but still able to be overwhelmed and not OP.
Its actually not what I was expected, I noticed some sounds are awfully like hw1, I dont know if its another prequel so maby it does makes sense, intercepter models look like hm1 models, why dont they have squadron system from hw2 it was good and I think people liked it ? did they not ? I hope they manage to add more mechanics to homeworld because at this point it is getting into copy-paste game since nothing "unique" is added to each game, if mechanically its gonna be like hw1 then its not worth buying, anyways high hopes for this one.
Agreed, since this game and Homeworld 2, by default, should have had far more advanced tech than it did/seems to as many of tech advancements used by Kiith Somtaaw in HW:C were either already in use by other Kiiths/the Taiidan, likely to later be given to other Kiiths by Somtaaw (such as the energy barrier tech and the miniaturized, turrreted ion cannon tech, etc), or were explained previously as to why they wouldn't be used later (such as Super Acolytes, which the Somtaaw were only able to build limited numbers of specifically to deal with the Beast). Homeworld 2 and, now, Homeworld 3 seem like they're the "Best of Homeworld 1 w/ limited amounts of HW:C game mechanics peppered in"/going to be such.
@@shadekerensky3691 its not even about the lore (you can always make up some reson for it), its just the lack of things to "play with", there were mods in hw2 that "fixed" that, what I personally want to see is twice or even 3 times the amount of ships in each category, modifiable ships, and alot of new weapons, and its not even hard to imagine all this, even in real world we have unique weapons that can be put into homeworld game, I hope devs pay alot of attention at how indie game "Nebulous" approached hw game design, because if they wont and it will be just another "story expansion" for what really is homeworld 1 then this franchise is dead.
The problem is that the whole thing we saw in the video felt like watching a reskinned with some switched around ship classes version of the mission where the Kushan took the fight to the Turanic Raiders and their flagship for that operation. I'm hoping it's just a demo level of some of the new mechanics and ship classes we'll see in the game and not an actual story level, because I don't want Homeworld III to just rehash everything from Homeworld I and II with simple reskins, some new gimmicks, and slightly shifted around set-pieces.
What has happened to movement in the vertical plane? I haven't seen any gameplay showing ships manually being given vertical move orders to approach targets from directly above/below. Has this aspect been removed from the game? That was a core part of various tactics in prior games. I really hope they haven't removed it in favour of a 'flat' battle space...

Fun Fact: Space has now sound because it's a vacuum. So if you wanna have an authentic feeling playings this game just play with FX sounds off
Would be nice to see ships have shields
what if instead of wars you were building stuff, like spacestations, etc. ?
1:43 Lookie on the bottom left there
"Raider Missle Frigate"
CMDR Sarah Somtaaw
Either that's a placeholder or oh god the Beast Slayer clan got done DIRTY to become Raiders
One thing that stand out to me is that the new Mothership don't have any voice line. My theory is that this mothership isn't maned by Karen and we are playing as a Kiith that fight in a civil war and Karen might be the antagonist of the series. But I might be wrong, gameplay looks great though.
You are partially correct. Karen isn't fleet command in this game. It's a new hot girl named Imogen S'jet. However Karen isn't here because she went MIA in a mission to stop what's only known as the anomaly. The hyperspace gate network is shutting down and Imogen is tasked to find our why.
I really wanted a Homeworld MMO.
Play EvE online and be a leader :D
@@KharaneCORE No thanks, just like the Ever Quest hard core players that ran to World of Warcraft and destroyed and made it more difficult then it was, the same would happen to a HW MMO the EVE hard core players would rape the game as they aren't role players they are greedy sociopaths.
needs a lot of polish but the game is looking fantastic
also, bombers should be much more dangerous to CS maybe they should add directional DPS where if the bomber torpedoes hit from the rear end of a ship they do way more damage, hope they add a disengage command for small ships so that they can immediately retreat from the target they were attacking if u order them to do so
Espectacular!
I hope the attack bombers will have flare upgrade to confuse enemy missiles.
if they made a complex mod for this game in the future, that would be epic! or i hope the dev team adds more units and alot of factions so that we won't need mods anymore
lo quiero lo quiero lo quiero lo quiero lo quiero y tendre toda la saga enterita que salga yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
To quote Bender, dear Devs: Let's go ALREADAAAAAAAY!
Ohhh 5:57 the mouse panning feature is huge. Finally, being forced to use arrow keys if you wanted any sort of camera movement like this was a bit tiresome
gameplay looks like promising... looking forward to it
Damn it bombers still crashed into target like the old days.
I can't wait to make room for this game on my hard drive by deleting Elite Dangerous! This looks and sounds awesome!
Lots of screen tearing and micro stutters, hope that's fixed
i am really worried as a fan of homeworld since day 1
no epic music ? no formations ? and please it is 21 centuries, make the color and the skin customizable.
i hope for the best.
One voice to speak for all. One tone of unity.
For a game that left it's mark trough it's excellent voice acting I hope this will not be the final product.
🤖 Standing by...
I am so ready
god it sounds so fucking good
I bought the collector edition, getting 4 figurines of high quality with the game and other merch for 200 is priceless
Scheiße wie geil!!!😀
As a long term homeworld fan neverstopped playing them and big fan of bbi ...I find the sound design slightly off compared to the other games sounds to clear not enough radio static as the old games and it's off putting tbh hope this is old footage..... Everything else looks on point and I'm being super fussy with the sound but homeworld series is my number 1 game of all time but STILL it's not 100% there for voice radio sounds IMHO
Looking great :D
After so many years space physics is still stupid. Space ships fly like they have to overcome air resistance and game developers believe that if they shut off engine in space ship will immediately stop. If engine is working in space - speed will be constantly increasing. And to stop you should rotate 180 degrees and use your engine for the same time in opposite direction. Also, those sounds in empty space...
Awesomeness!
Looking good!
@@shadekerensky3691 exactly my thoughts!!! +++
You did the interview went down into a tunnel and move around up/down cover 😱
oof man i hope they change the sound effect of rockets being fired it sounds like ear rape
