Guardsman's electrifying Queen rendition from top of Horse Guards

- A guardsman performing a Queen classic from the top of Horse Guards was one of the highlights as more than 350 military musicians performed in the annual Household Division Beating Retreat.
The guardsman wowed the crowd playing the electric guitar as he joined in with a rendition of Queen's 1979 'Don't Stop Me Now' from the roof of the central London building, backdropped with pyrotechnics.
The theme this year was the King's Coronation in May and His Majesty's sister-in-law, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh took the salute.

The guy on the roof is not a Guardsman, I was a Guardsman. he is a Bandsman totally different.
And to think the Army is looking at getting rid of the rank of Guardsman, along with other historical ranks such as kingsman and Colour sergeant, in the name of equality, unbelievable.

@@trondog8503 Seems unwise, with some female soldiers being proud of their ranks regardless and there being far more pressing concerns from said female soldiers than being referred to as Rifleman instead of Private.
Technically he's not even a Bandsman as they changed it from Bandsman to Musician

@@garagenigel Wish I was Nigel, but even the CGS agrees we've been cut completely to the bone. Put in perspective the German Reichswehr under the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 was limited to 100,000. The UK has more staff working in Primark than the Army. You may choose to delude yourself but after personal service in a full career, my view aligns with the General's.
To quote the Head of the British Army in May's Soldier mag:
“It’s certainly highlighted the fact that mass and size are important. I’m not comfortable with an Army of just 73,000. It’s too small. That was never part of our proposition going into the review. In fact, I was working to direction that we regrow the Army to 82,000 - and we have done that successfully over the past four years.
So being limited to 73,000 people was quite a surprise - and it’s a bit of an arbitrary figure because it’s just a price point. What’s important is that it’s an amalgamation of what we think we can afford and what we can translate into a coherent, balanced capability.”
If we are so insignificant why do other countries ask for our military help when they are in trouble. Question have you served in the British forces.
@@charlieyerrell9146 Good point Charlie, 34 years, full career... including 'Loan Service'. Why do other countries ask for our military help? Because we've become military prostitutes, that's why. Mind you, not sure they ask, we just tag along with any old rubbish the government uses to divert attention from the facts. Ukraine a case in point. Don't get me started on Tony Blair.
