I love the gate and the keys. It's times like that that reminds you these guys are just humans, not robots. He's just a guy struggling with his keys, the other guy waiting around unceremoniously for him to figure it out.
The sound of their shoes hitting the ground is so satisfying to me.
That video gives so much insight… I love the effort of following them on their round. Also, I’m glad you didn’t annoy them too much.
Cool video - and very cool guards!
Now I know the bearskins are pretty big, including the officers but the officer at 0:27 has thr biggest one I've ever seen
Very nice .. Coldstream Guards Captain doing his round inspections .. thank you very much for sharing 😊
@@militaryevents107 its just my wild guess.. i cant see clearly the ranks on his shoulder 😊
With respect to Ex Guardsman Don Grace- James Herbert Auty MM David Preece for imputing into my life and making me the man I am today. Thank you gentlemen.
Regardless of nation or epoch the performance of this duty by the officer of the guard will never change.
This reminds me of the Kipling poem, The Shut-Eye Sentry. It was about a drunken Orderly Officer making his rounds at a British Army Post in India.
Great videos
Fantastic realy enjoyed it.thank.you
Now that's where the calvary could help out. These guys huffed all over kudos to camera man kept it steady didn't disturb or pant
Respect to all the boysss
Ótimo vídeo. AMEI. 😍💂♂️❤

ARMS!
The officers shoes appear to be a different style.
What is the rounds who are they what are they doing
The rounds, where the platoon commander, and platoon sergeant or in this case, pay sergeant (i think its a pay sergeant) will march out 1-2 times a day to get a report from the guards and inspect the guards. Hope this helped!
@Jeff that is correct! I completely forgot, thanks for reminding me!

Arms! Lock down on the thumb.......And swagger!
I’ve noticed warrant officer swords are more secure than the officers is it just a difference in how it’s slung
@@riflemusket I’m talking about Warrant officer class one’s sword’s not class two’s who have the bayonet
@@TheChineseGovernment. Ah, I believe that the Warrant Officer Class One sword scabbard is a different design than the scabbard for commissioned officers. Akin to the NCO sword of the US Marines compared to the commissioned officer sword.
@@TheChineseGovernment. WO2’s have swords, not CSM’s, but drill SGT have swords, and RQMS have swords, both WO2 ranks.
A warrant officer sword has a scabbard so it is pretty much fixed there, officer swords have a scabbard, but are on a sling, which swings.

The door at the start Is that where the officer sleeps
@@theultimategamer1643 what do you mean? I know it’s his office, he might go sleep in the barracks as it’s a 4 min walk.
Yes the officer sleeps in the flat. Separate to the rest of the guardsman who are accommodated in the guard room
i wonder what they were telling him
The officer asked for his report, he replied all is well, he then inspected him and the sentry box. The sergeant i think asked how he was, the officer asked for his mission, he replied “Mission to man my post in order to deter, any would be aggressor and show status of the royal family. The officer then said carry on, and that is what happened. Hope this helped!
Arms no longer swing shoulder high and parallel to the floor then? Guards standards are slipping!!
When you have a C/ Sgt Moving and twitching about, what chance has a Guardsman of being trained properly. And why does he not pull his feet in at the halt. Standards have hit rock bottom
CO bag o shite, colour absolute God. Dude though didn’t deserve that
00:25 man child in trackies wondering how to be a contributing adult.
Would be hilarious if a seagull would 💩 on the guard as he being inspected 😂
What a load of codswallop.
People that join the Army to Guard Royal palaces must have something missing. What a waste of Soldiers
Pardon? All these guards you see are front line infantry and fight for our country. This part is the ceremonial side, for tradition, guarding, especially as the queen is in residence, and culture. You can also tell by the medals, and decorations, like one of the medals the officer has, operational service for Iraq and Syria. And coming from someone who wants to do this when I am old enough, this fills you with a pride like no other.
They are dual roled. They are trained as infantry soldiers and deploy as such.

quite eerie seeing windsor castle tourist-free. But I guess this is the best opportunity to get some good shots of the men!
Indeed it is! Much better than having 1,000 tourists barging their way to take a picture with the guards.
