VICE Nice to see ya'll checking out the RC scene!! Stay tuned! Things gonna get real. We foresee this technology going full scale sooner rather than later ;)
Kibbler and yet you keep coming back, just to criticise it because others like it. disliking something for its popularity, what's the name for people like that?
NORTH ENDER Those things look awesome, ...its like an evolution of the BattleBots tv show, guess its only a matter of time before a DroneBot reality show is on. Where did you order yours from?
JB Murdock Yeah they look really cool. I agree, there really is no limit to what these things are capable of right now. I ordered mine from a store in my city. There is a bunch of guys who own/operate and hangout there who are really into them and helped me with a good starter machine for my budget. It's cool too because they have a lot of parts/pieces new for sale plus old parts that they have from all their older machines that are compatible with the one I'm getting. Usually I make the mistake of jumping on the first one I think looks cool when I get into something new but this time I waited and got really lucky hooking up with these guys. Plus I have a group of people to fly with and learn off.
That would be sick to make whoops with like a lazer tag type thing where if you get a direct hit the quad that gets hit disarms and falls out of the sky...... That would be sick!
For everyone saying it's not called a drone, the dictionary definition is: a remote-controlled pilotless aircraft or missile. There. Idk where people are getting the idea that drones are autonomous.
DE LEON dumb ass, no.... none of the quads in this clip are flying autonomously or have the capability of doing so.. if you are watching pix hawk and APM videos, yes it is a drone..
Brendan Taylor the craft is pilotless no matter if a human is controlling it or a computer. the pilot is removed out the craft and that is the definition of a drone.
Agreed. A better idea than a laser signal that turns off the drone would be a laser signal that puts the drone on Self Leveling and slowly decreases power to bring it down somewhat gently. The pilot would still have to pay attention and make sure it lands safely.
MadCircle01 maybe program the drone in a way that each time it get hit with the laser one motor Go slow or off So if it get hit 4 times in a Row he lose
Soo how you get points . Those disks won't shoot down a drone . Are there some sensors that tell if you got hit or something. That would be great . I think shotting a laser beam and a sensor receving it as a hit would be great system to score points.
if people are going to take this up as a hobby the combat can't damage the drone or else it would be monumentally expensive, and things will get really heated as losing will cost a lot of money to fix. lasers seems like the best idea to me, more accurate for starters
Matthew Clark You can program that system and simulate , Fire rate , ammunition count and type just like in Video game. You can even add sound Fx of real gun in headset . With hit boxes etc . and the damage effect on a target . For example I shoot you with laser and information will be "I shot you in the engine" . That information can be transfered from a computer to the targeted drone and the engine power will drop like 5% .. I also agree with you the laser is far more accurate . I think it would be a comercial blast to play drones that by using lasers and system like in VideoGames . But I also think drones would be also damaged mosly by inexpierenced people hitting stuff more than shoting down a drone.
Chriss RE its true about then hitting stuff, but at least you get better with practise whereas nobody would take up a sport where the aim was ton cause 100 pounds worth of damage to opponents
Chriss RE I wonder why they don't use a laser-tag style game? I'm not very technically gifted, but seems like there'd be a way to set up drone laser-tag that even disables all or part of the enemy drone. Maybe even have hit-zones where if you hit an arm, it disables one engine. If it hits the center, it gradually loses power, etc.
robotluke123 too bad. OWN IT. Drone on. they however are not drones. just FPV Quads. also not the first dogfight. even I was dogfighting quads a couple years ago. (crash into each other) maybe the first to shoot nerf discs. but they are not even the first quads to "fire" a weapon of any sort (see the vids of people mounting fireworks to them :-)
sik59rt well it kind of is a drone now. As long as we recognize it can mean 2 different things. It is like calling a napkin a kleenex or hook and loop tape velcro or a copy a zerox. The word is being adopted to mean something new. That is why i say own the word. Drone on. We just need to also understand the technical difference.
Nerys i dont know anyone who flies multi rotors that calls them drones unless theyre talking to people who have no idea wtf they are and then tell them that theyre not drones
Another thought, like those tracer BBs with airsoft, if these guys can build a flash mechanism and the disk is made of the same material as those tracer BBs... that would be one hell of a dog fight. Very easy for spectators to see the shots and it would look like the drones are shooting out laser shots in semi dark places.
They should put some IR recievers on their drones along with an IR transmitter on the front and keep score that way :) Lighter weight and unlimited bullets
Or have the laser trigger a landing protocol. I dunno, having to account for balistics and ammo with the nerf discs does make that style seem fun... Multirotor paintball, anyone?
I happen to be paralyzed from the shoulders down and would like to be able to fly a quad copter with 1st person viewing. How do I get one of these without having to assemble it?
to put is simply, if there is human almost continuous input it is a UAV, if the craft is flying its self without any human input it is a drone, a craft can change from a drone to UAV and back to a drone throughout a flight however generally if it is capable of being a drone, it is generally just called a drone.
There is absolutely nothing in this video that I would call a dogfight. One guy flying very slowly while the other guy tries to shoot him is not a dogfight.
Drones, as the radio-controlled craft are called, have many potentialities, civilian and military. Some day huge mother ships may guide fleets of long-distance, cargo-carrying airplanes across continents and oceans. Long-range drones armed with atomic bombs could be flown by accompanying mother ships to their targets and in for perfect hits. ["Popular Science," November, 1946]
Would this be the infamous Andy Shen who designed the Lumenier Danaus? Too much fun. How about bringing that hootin and hollerin good time a little south to the greater DC area? We could use some fun down here.
i just think its funny they say "secret project been working on for months" when i was playing with these disc shooting devices as a kid 10 years ago, just attach it to a drone. we get it drones are cool.
has anyone used IR for this, kinda like IR TAG but it flags when your hit and you're out, and you fly your drone back to safety till the next round. Laser tag as it were...

I know it's a open world but I won't to race drones with using googles please help I have yet to buy or build anything. So any help please would be great
A lot of people are missing the point of the videos. The point, well one of them, is to just plane have fun. Don't ruin it for other, if you want to do nothing but get on here just for the sake of fighting. Now that we got past that I just want to say Awesome Video guys and keep up the good work.
Not the FIRST, for what it's worth. There are a bunch of folks building their Quadcopters using my nearly indestructible OPQ Frame and doing FULL CONTACT combat with them for the last year. :)
kind of goofy shooting little disks at each other. i think mounting a laser would be better and wouldnt require reloading, but you would need to implement a receiver on the drones to keep track of how many lasers made contact
Instead of powering all those LEDs, what they really should be doing, if using that energy to power a laser sight! Time for the next project! Or upgrade, whichever may come first.
how about infrared guns / light guns or however they are called? You could even make different weapons and make the drone react to it? How about mario kart racing (with sensefull weapons, perhaps not simulated guided missiles, but a shockwave, that makes the oponents drone slower for some time, or some sort of simulated maschine gun fire).?
That is so cool. My friend that lives on top of my floor always have bunch of my other friends there playing videos games with a balcony door open. Love to fly one of these things in there and start shooting them hahaha that will be so funny.
Swap the nerf disk shooter for a paintball gun and you have a winner. Not saying the nerf disk's idea is crap it just wouldn't have as much impact as a paintball.
They didn't dogfight, though. They just shot at the wall.
You can now buy a drone that shoots Nerf disks. Starfox-style battles are next.
cool video
VICE Nice to see ya'll checking out the RC scene!! Stay tuned! Things gonna get real. We foresee this technology going full scale sooner rather than later ;)
The mask tho
Worlds first drone dogfight? I guess Game of Drones combat league hasn't counted for the past few years huh?
Nope. Anything vice shows is always the first!
Lol ∀
Now they just need a drone that smokes weed, dresses like a hipster and mines bitcoins. Then they will have the VICE trifecta.
Kibbler and yet you keep coming back, just to criticise it because others like it. disliking something for its popularity, what's the name for people like that?
Kibbler ill emphasise my point then. you are a definition of a hipster yourself
''You can't do fights with cars''
Has this guy never heard of Demolition Derby?
hadhad69 he’s up north, soooo probably not.
@@Draftsman_MC1300 what about north dakota montana ? Shit tone of derbys there
HOW IS THIS NOT INDUSTRY STANDARD IN FPV COMMUNITY???
How about this. Mount some sort of airsoft type weapon, and then you can have air support in airsoft. lolol
Laugh out loud out loud?
Yes Yes Yes Yes?
Remove the airsoft add a real gun xD
🤔
It's been done
Back when racing drones were always huge and heavy. But greatjob, no joke!
Just ordered my first drone. Can't wait to get right into it and start accessorizing and customizing it.
The goggles are a must.
NORTH ENDER Those things look awesome, ...its like an evolution of the BattleBots tv show, guess its only a matter of time before a DroneBot reality show is on. Where did you order yours from?

That would be sick to make whoops with like a lazer tag type thing where if you get a direct hit the quad that gets hit disarms and falls out of the sky...... That would be sick!
They make the coolest little pews when they shoot, flying one of those things around looks like loads of fun
This is the future of drone sport. Combat drones will be the next big thing.
Drone dogfighting? I think I found Michael Vicks new hobby
For everyone saying it's not called a drone, the dictionary definition is: a remote-controlled pilotless aircraft or missile. There. Idk where people are getting the idea that drones are autonomous.
They are autonomous , the drones and the UAVs , don't need a pilot these days.
DE LEON dumb ass, no.... none of the quads in this clip are flying autonomously or have the capability of doing so..
if you are watching pix hawk and APM videos, yes it is a drone..
You are correct. I guess a drone can be both. The dictionary should be changed to include autonomous vehicles.
Brendan Taylor I know you idiot , without a barometer, magnetometer and GPS it won't be able to be autonomous fuc.wit .
Brendan Taylor the craft is pilotless no matter if a human is controlling it or a computer. the pilot is removed out the craft and that is the definition of a drone.
Secondary weapon should be something like laser tag that turns off the drone
Ya so your drone can fall out of the sky and break the first time you're shot...don't think that'd be a great idea.
I was also thinking laser tag type, but only counting the times you are hit, and vice versa. I totally believe in minimizing drone damage
Agreed. A better idea than a laser signal that turns off the drone would be a laser signal that puts the drone on Self Leveling and slowly decreases power to bring it down somewhat gently. The pilot would still have to pay attention and make sure it lands safely.

IT IS NOT A FECKING DRONE FOR CRAP SAKE!
they manually fly it, a drone is autonomous.
by your logic those toy cars from wall mart or tescos are drones
I agree. Drone has a negative connotation.
robotluke123
too bad. OWN IT. Drone on.
they however are not drones. just FPV Quads. also not the first dogfight. even I was dogfighting quads a couple years ago. (crash into each other)

whats even worse is the people who theyre interviewing keep calling them that.

they should make it so that u have an alert when the quad is hit. Either a beep or flash or something. This way no one can say they didnt get hit
its there any info on the construction of these drones?
What platforms were being flown here?
Sooo... when does the fight start?
They should put some IR recievers on their drones along with an IR transmitter on the front and keep score that way :) Lighter weight and unlimited bullets
Drone laser tag? I like
+Edward Mwangi exactly!! could even cause power drop upon hits if you wanted to. im building my first quadcopter and will be doing this shortly after
+Keith Green I like the idea, so if you need a reseller let me know
Pretty cool! but is it really the first drone dogfight? it seems like someone else would've done this already with another "drone"
Maybe adapt a laser tag system to a quad. Flashing a bright light when hit.
Or have the laser trigger a landing protocol.
I dunno, having to account for balistics and ammo with the nerf discs does make that style seem fun...
Multirotor paintball, anyone?
does anybody know what type of quadrocopters these are? (manufacturer & model) they look extremely well balanced front to back.
Can you send me a link where you buy the discs? Or anyone
they should have the camera and the headset they use connected to movement so when you move your head the camera moves so you get 360 vision
Badass ... I like the lazer tag idea
What setups are you guys flying ?
I happen to be paralyzed from the shoulders down and would like to be able to fly a quad copter with 1st person viewing. How do I get one of these without having to assemble it?
what size are these quads?
Now that looks like fun with a quad!!

Need to add a smoke trail at the back to blind the other drones. Then have a Mario Kart style competition.
Hi there *****! Does Andy happen to have a channel of his own? Had a look around, but unfortunately we came up empty handed.. Please advise..
It all started with a plastic disc!
I am building a tricopter now but how to attach the servo to the shooter

That guy that made the drone is amazing
i would want metalic edges on the discs capable of taking blades out
Would this be the infamous Andy Shen who designed the Lumenier Danaus?

Hiway my man!
Andy Shen
Drop down the road... do some sight seeing- I'll buy you lunch. We can break quads and shit ;)
I think a bi-athalon style event would be a good use of that platform and environment.
Anyone know the song at 1:30?
lets 're label them cheese and biscuits, no body is scared of flying cheese and biscuits.
spray paint those need disc' s with glow in the dark paint and star wars mode happens.
PLEASE! SOMEONE TELL ME THE NAME OF THAT SONG AT THE END!
I can see it. Large field, fleets of drones, carriers, batteries.
drone laser tag would be cool
Where can I buy one
i just think its funny they say "secret project been working on for months" when i was playing with these disc shooting devices as a kid 10 years ago, just attach it to a drone. we get it drones are cool.
"Have you flown in tougher conditions than this...?" -- Doesn't answer question.
Kyle Van Tonder that needs licence
The two quad copters weren't even fighting
I'm stoked on it.
has anyone used IR for this, kinda like IR TAG but it flags when your hit and you're out, and you fly your drone back to safety till the next round. Laser tag as it were...
now we need drones that drop chainsaw blades at ISIS.
wow cool
Would you make it for sale ?
strap on .22! Surround the area with bulletproof glass
why not use plastic air soft pellets?
why indoors?
Another step is taken towards making a functioning hunter-killer drone.
we already got those mate..
My reference is towards an autonomous version. The pilot controlled ones are bad enough...
Notrollhere stfu
Someone shod integrate augmented reality with this tech.
Art of War the beginning of another chapter of weaponary
awesome job DroneKraft
The evaluation is electro gravitics aka anti gravity I might build one some day
That's some seriously cool stuff you guys are doing with your Quads! And Repping "NYC", that's what's uP!
wheres the fight?

How much does each RC quadcopter cost to make?
the types shown here are approximately $1000 once you add in radio and FPV gear.
Julio Romero 250mm quad, $300 RTF at the most. FatShark predators v2, $280, batteries, $15 each, transmitter, $60. No more than $700 for a very nice set up. You could go as low as $400 with fpv.

"can't do combat worry cars" are you fucking kidding me bro? destruction derby man.
I need one of those, I'm having this epic nerf battle in August and unfortunately, the parrot bebop cannot shoot nerf darts.
it will be cool to see them when they are fully autonomous, remote controlled seems a bit uninteresting to me.
ehh nerf disks? Thats pretty lame
A lot of people are missing the point of the videos. The point, well one of them, is to just plane have fun. Don't ruin it for other, if you want to do nothing but get on here just for the sake of fighting. Now that we got past that I just want to say Awesome Video guys and keep up the good work.
those are quad copters and drone are also other RC devices
One day drones like this will cost about $200.00
Well right now it's like $400 so that would be no surprise
I think a more powerful lazer tag system like the call of duty drones would be awsum.
after watching this vid I got 2 quadcoppters lol
Literally a Discord mod user fighting eachother
Not the FIRST, for what it's worth. There are a bunch of folks building their Quadcopters using my nearly indestructible OPQ Frame and doing FULL CONTACT combat with them for the last year. :)
This video does not show a dogfight
holy asbestos fog batman!
kind of goofy shooting little disks at each other. i think mounting a laser would be better and wouldnt require reloading, but you would need to implement a receiver on the drones to keep track of how many lasers made contact
Look at those flying bricks lol.
Next gen robot wars?

who else would see this as a modren toy for kids
combat baseball sounds cool as a spectator sport too...
Can you retrofit any drone to accept your drone nerd guns
So sick!
That is cool, now when are we gonna stick BB guns into the drones instead of nerf discs.
And they have self aware TERMINATED
U see the Russian and ukrain drone smash into each other, technically a drone dogfight right
That is so cool. My friend that lives on top of my floor always have bunch of my other friends there playing videos games with a balcony door open. Love to fly one of these things in there and start shooting them hahaha that will be so funny.
Why not install a laser pointer and a receiver? U can't even down your enemy like this... .
Dust and electronics aren't a good mix. Why didn't anyone bring a vacuum?
Someone please invent the anti drone weapon!
Swap the nerf disk shooter for a paintball gun and you have a winner. Not saying the nerf disk's idea is crap it just wouldn't have as much impact as a paintball.
