Good stuff. The angle of those plenums tricks you into thinking you have the clamps mounted correctly. Easy to do if you haven’t done it before.

Seems like dropping the engine will insure a better approach for AOS, oil cooler and similar changes that typically involves engine in disassembly and keep vacuum leaks and other mistakes to a minimum.

Not only the clamps !! Almost ALWAYS .. all the vacuum lines under the plenum which control the flaps inside the plenum are disconnected either from the solenoid or the flap itself !! I personally use zip ties on those lines to make sure they don’t pop out.

Jake, this would have been way more useful if you showed ppl how those intake runners should be removed and refitted

Great insight! Would this vacuum leak be reflected in the RKAT and FRA values?

We'll all be driving laptops with wheels soon so all these ice issues soon will be as outdated as members only jacket's.

The brown cylinder head plug close to the oil separator has popped out about 3 times already.
Could a vacuum leak be the cause? Any suggestions?

You need to replace the AOS with a Porsche genuine part or UAOS. The brown plug popping out is a common problem associated with a failing AOS or a car that has a cheap aftermarket AOS installed.

Can u show how to do a vacuum leak smoke test on a 928 to detect these issues without pulling the engine?

You are missing the point of 'Flat Six Innovations'.
They don't support the front engine vehicles.

Is this an issue on the 2.7 Cayman non-s as well?
