Putting on that pressure on me dude lol. The three things you said I’m not the best at! The three: Confidence, fast learner, chatty. I’m trying to work on all three. I’ve been overcoming my social anxiety disorder overtime. I would like to grow and learn being a barista though. There is a local little stand/shop in my small city hiring. It’s been very hard looking for a job!
I'm a 15 year old and I got a job at a local coffe shop of mine, I've been going to that shop troughout my whole life and I finally get to work there. I'm just looking for some videos to let me know about the job and I can say that your video helped me the most. Thanks and LOVE IT!!!!
I love my regulars! They are so sweet and I love chatting with them as I make their beverage or even while I'm doing nitty gritty stuff like cleaning the cafe. It's gotten to the point where one elderly woman comes in every morning to order the same thing..even if we are low on supplies we set things aside for her just so we can talk about her grandbabies while she has her breakfast.
@@yeolfilms6746 how are you doing now? But yeah trust me, you'll do fine once you get used to it. I've been there before and I remember feeling nervous during the first few weeks but over time I got used to it and started to relax. It helps if you've got really supportive coworkers. Just remember that it's okay to make mistakes and be patient with yourself (being a perfectionist, I'm reminding myself of this too, haha). Anyway, all the best to you!
My boyfriend has worked for the same specialty coffee roaster for over 10 years now. And I what’s even funnier is that he doesn’t drink coffee! He used to but he cannot stand the caffeine any more. He is experienced with their coffee so much though as long as everything is dialed in correctly he will always pour a consistent shot.
I love the world of war craft frames in the back .. bringing me back to my WOW playing years 😩 I’m currently thinking bout getting a job as a barista I ain’t got no money right now haha so I’m not tryna go in everyday .. but I’m very personable I hope I can just walk in and ask if their hiring I’m a pretty quick learner and think I’d be great especially with the customers.. Thanks for the video dude you’re really chill
Omg I’m about to become a barista for Starbucks, I’m super nervous since I don’t have experience. But hopefully all goes well especially checking your video out. (: thanks for the tips ! 🥺
Thank for such a video explaining about this career option. I am currently trying to figure out what can I approach as a career option and listing them and cancelling them out after getting an overlook of the aspects of that career and the fact if I really have interest in it and can do it. So thanks, I really appreciate it. Btw you look cool, just as the Batistas illustrated in movies and anime.
I just got my first job as a barista at a locally owned, very high quality coffee shop. Yeah, the pay isn't too good. (although damn, the tips!) Cleaning up afterwards and preparing for the next day is also kind of a pain, and the learning process for all the menu items and processes is sort of stressful for someone who doesn't know anything. But it's also an amazing experience!
I wanna become a great barista. I’m a very shy and anxious person but I’m pushing myself to get my start at Starbucks and learning the ropes so I can take some knowledge and go to a local shop!
Randomly stumbled across this video and it's so relatable. I've a barista for almost 2 years now and it's such a good job but very stressful I agree.one thing I hate is when people want.. Not one.. Not 2 but HALF a shot of coffee😂😂🙄..is it just people in my town that want half shots or do people ask you that also hahaha. Good video by the way 👍
Whats bad about me is that im not a fast learner, it takes repetition to get used to something and it knocks my confidence speaking to customers when I’ve recently started and not familiar with the till or drinks
Man I went in a coffee shop yesterday asking for a summer job since I have nothing else to do this summer and after watching this I'm beginning to think it was a rash decision. Not that I lack any of things I need above, but I lack language. I moved to a new country (different language) 8 months ago and even though I'd say I'm pretty good at it rn I'm dying while thinking about actual working on a language I'm not so good at :') oh well~
I have a local coffee shop in my town and the family who owns it is related to my little sisters old babysitter so since we knew the babysitter so well we started getting closer to the family who owns the shop and tomorrow I start my training and I’m very excited for it
Hi, how likely do you think it is to hire someone with one month of classes and three months of practice? also how much do baristas usually earn in tips a week?
oof Starbucks. I absolutely HATE their employment system. They don't really care ya know. Ive known some who'd just stay for 2-3 months. idk. Personal experience, I got fed up with Starbucks. Passed me on from one store manager to another, having to love my personality, but won't do well with availability cause they'd get back to you weeks after they say they would. Love the tips doe. If you're just so passionate with coffee, look for specialty coffee shops around, go to their website, ask if they're hiring. It worked for me. I did with 15 + and 2 contacted me for interview. These shops focus on quality and good training (iffffff you're so passionate)
My advice? Go for it, you'll be forced to gain social skills in a barista role and that's good for you in the long run as social skills are imperative for your future.
Tbh I'm not in LOVE with coffee you know I just like it normally . The thing that I LOVE is being a barista . Does that make a problem being a barista ?:)
Personally I’d just try to accept what I cannot change about myself and change what I cannot accept. If you’re a slow learner ask yourself, are you really a slow learner or are you putting in way less hours than other people? I remember when I first got a job at Costa and I felt like a slow learner, but in reality my colleagues were doing 40 hours weeks and I was doing 15-20 hour weeks. So they learnt twice as fast
Hi sir have a good day to you. Im working as a barista here in UNITED ARAB EMIRATES UAE FOR ALMOST 6yrs from now. And i want to work in your country is there any chance or possibility to apply in some coffee shop for me.
I wouldn't recommend it anymore, i'm 24 now, 25 this month and I went back to education, now I'm going into a career in biomedical research. The reason I wouldn't recommend it is because there is little career progression unless you want to be a business owner
@@JoshIbbotson thanks for the respond good luck on ur carier, be happy. Then I'll try it simultaneously with university education for saving money hopefully :)

Such a genuine and gorgeous human being. ✨

i came here to say the same thing 🥲
Your video is short and straight to the point, thank you 🖤🖤
I'm starting my job at a coffee shop tomorrow :/ I'm nervous but also excited 😅
You'll do great :)
I have first day of training in 2 days
I think I'm just applying for a waitress but even like that I'm nervous, too, due to my introvert side. Gotta hack up confronting people; that's life.
