First, I love how your best friend makes you read books. It cracks me up. I do that to my friends too. I read all three of The Luminaries books back to back last month because like the idiot that I am...I requested the 3rd book on Goodreads not realizing it was the last book in a series. I think I self shamed myself about it in another one of your videos. If I had fully read the synopsis I would have known that. I guess it was kind of good because I had the first book on my TBR for a long time and it forced me to finally read it. I put it off mainly due to hearing it wasn't that great, so it went on the back burner even though I still was interested. Overall, I did like series. It is very young YA with that whole teen first love and the misunderstanding and pining that we loved as kids. I just finished book two in the The Veiled Kingdom series and think book 1 The Veiled Kingdom and book 2 The Hunted Heir should have been one book. Especially since book two was just under 300 pages. I sneezed and the audiobook was done. Now I have to wait a year for book 3? Maybe it's already written and she's holding back a bit since book 2 just released in August? I don't even know how many books are in that series... I have a feeling you wouldn't like them. Run it by Marissa 😆
Marissa is ruining my life with how many books she bullies me into reading 😂😂😂 I probably will ask her. She’s probably read them. It’s shocking how many books she gets through
Song of silver flame like night should have been a one book and done. I liked but I don't know why it should be a duology they pretty much wrapped it up in one book
fyi-- I think the Susan Dennard series doesn't have exclusive illustrations in the IC version. I'm pretty sure all the UK printings have the illustrations and it's just the US that don't, but it's not IC specific
