Arcen have amazing ideas but squeezing the fun out of them can be hard.
I get your point about the visuals are due to how the AI perceives the environment but it sure would be nice if there were upgrades that allowed them to increase that fidelity. Or have different views like threat assessment or seeing electro-mechanical connections.
FYI the visuals are likely to remain as they are; a stylistic choice that some will like and some won't. The mechanics don't really need things like electro-mechanical connections; your buildings are either in your network (and therefore automatically connected) or they aren't.

16:52 You mention Chaos "Empires" but I think you mean Chaos Overlords? That was one of my all time favorite games from that era and wish there was a remake! I loved the atmosphere of that game which feels a bit lacking in this game. At least in streaming.
