Wow how refreshing to see Rosemaling on youtube! I've done this for years and haven't done it on ornaments yet, but have done a lot of strokework and dot ornaments. I've subscribed so I can continue to be inspired.
We very recently went through the same with our Georgia. We’re it not for the Lord, we’d probably have been crazy by now. We have four dogs. We are rescue suckers. 🤪 And our quiver is absolutely full now.!😬 Of course, we love them all. HGE is a pretty traumatic event to walk through. I am an RN, so I understand things like blood volume, etc. She lost at least 1-1/2 cups of blood through her stool. That’s a huge amount for a 25# dog! Georgia is a walking/running little miracle. ❤️🙌 Thank you so much for this lovely tutorial! I’m going to have to give it a try. 😊 I just found you, and am looking forward to checking out your other videos. Thanks, again, for being so generous and kind to share this with us! I’ve been painting with watercolor for years, so I’m going to have to become more familiar with the nuances of acrylics again. It tickled me when you licked your finger and wiped away one of the strokes. 😁 I’d forgotten what a great solvent saliva can be if you act quickly! Ha! It’s November of 2022, now. So much in our world has changed since the pandemic. But our faithful loving God will never change! 😊❤️ God bless you and your loved ones! Jacqui ❤️
Thank you so much and I apologize that I didn't answer sooner. I do not know Russian, so I understand completely with not knowing English. I am so glad that you enjoyed the video. Blessings to you!
Just came across this video and I absolutely love how beautiful they are. I have been painting using burnt out lightbulbs using some type of a pattern because I did not believe in my ability to try anything freehand. After watching this video, I can not wait to step out of my comfort and try to paint these. God Bless you for sharing your talent.
This makes me so happy to read!! I truly hope that my videos have been helpful to you and remember it's just paint!! Have fun and thank you for your blessings!!!
I use to know a lady, she had moved here from Germany, I think, at that time I was taking painting classes Guess they were folk art, can’t really remember, but she said they had to paint hundreds of each stroke, Her teacher was real strict. Your bulb is looking beautiful. I’ve never done this type of painting, I do have One of the books, with instructions, I love to paint, but I’m way out of practice, my hands shake now, guess That’s life. Your things are just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing with us 👍👍💕
Hello. first I wish to my apologize for my very delayed response....I sometimes miss comments along the way and I just found on UA-cam a spot where it tells me the comments that I have not responded too!! As you said...That's life!! second, thank you so much for your kind words. They are truly appreciated. The lady you knew was very correct. Hundreds if not thousands of times I have painted these strokes. Lots of practice and muscle memory at work in painting these ornaments. I Hope this finds you well and I thank you once again!!
Those are beautiful. I've been doing a different type of painting on ornaments and would really like to try this. I'll practice the brush strokes on paper first. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge.
Thank you for your comment and I apologize that it took me so long to reply!! I end up missing some comments along the way. I hope that you had a chance to try painting on ornaments! Happy New Year!
Thank you Barb!!! I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas! Looking forward to seeing you in 2021 and may the new year bring blessings to you and your family!
Thank you so much and i so glad you enjoyed the video. When I am painting on glass ornaments like the one in the video I typically use a multi-surface paint by Folk Art. These paints can be found at Michael's or any other stores like that. Thank you again for asking!
Hey Lise. I love your work. I also would love to practice Telemark with you. I have a hard time with this type of rosemaling. It scares me a bit. Being a free style (I guess you can say). It great for ornaments. I wish you could put the camera behind you so I could watch and follow you not upside down. I also struggle with the embellishment on where to put them.
Hello!! I so apologize that i did not see this comment until now!!!!! I would be happy to work with you and Telemark. I am putting together more zoom classes and they will be listed on www.rosemalingclasses.com and my facebook page ArtofLise1. Thank you for the suggestion for the camera placement!! I will be doing some more videos soon and I will try to set it up that way. Embellishments can be a bit of a bear...I usually go with less is more to start with and then add more as I go.
So beautiful! What are your ornaments made of? I bought some plastic balls to paint, but I'm having trouble getting the folkart paint to actually be thick enough on them. It ended up quite see-through and thin. I was using the metallic silver paint.
I am painting on glass ornaments. I typically use gold, silver, and pearl whites. I have been using the full cart brand, I find the brushed metal works best on these ornaments.
Do you prepare the ornaments with anything ahead like a glaze mixture or just use your medium mixture with your paint before you paint on glass and or plastic ornaments?
Hello Lise, I loved watching you paint today! I used to do Tole painting many years ago, and watching you brought back memories of some of the gifts I had made for loved ones and one that I had kept for myself. You've inspired me to give this a try and take a brief break from the fluid art that I have found myself doing for the last 18 months. Could you recommend some brushes? ♥♥♥
Hello!! I apologize for my slow reply. I am so happy that my video brought back such good memories for you. I hope that you have a chance to give painting a try again. In regards to brushes, I use Kingart brand and Jo Sonja Sure touch brand. My suggestions would be the following - Round Brushes - #3 and/or #4 - Kingart 9000 series or Sure Touch 1350 Series, Flat brushes - Kingart 9300 or Sure Touch 1370 Series, Liners #10/0 , #0 and or #1 - Kingart 9375 series or Sure Touch 1365 Series. I hope this will be helpful to you.
@@rosemalingbyartoflise7657, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Lise, thank you so much for your response, I have been doing fluid art with acrylic paints and alcohol inks the last 18 months, but am interested in adding brush work in the near future. ave an urgent need for short clips featuring Christmas decoration painting, particularly focusing on Christmas balls. Do you have any available clips that you could share with me? I have a budget of $50 allocated for this project, and I'm looking to acquire 7-10 brief clips, each lasting a few seconds. If you have suitable footage on hand, I would greatly appreciate it if you could pass them along.
Hello, happy New Year!! Thank you for asking. I am actually working on my calendar now for a schedule for the next few months. I will have them up on my facebook page Artoflise1 and they will also be posted shortly on www.rosemalingclasses.com
