Garden Tour August 2023 (Zone 3 Minnesota)

- Welcome to my zone 3 Minnesota garden in August! This is a unique gardening season for me because we just moved to our new 240 acre homestead, so I'm adjusting to the new space and soil here.
We tilled and prepped the area on May 30th and I moved all of my plants over on June 2-4! Most of them were already planted in my existing garden, so I transplanted what I could and started over with what I could not. I'm a little behind schedule due to this, but I'm so thrilled with how it's going so far!
Garden planning is the most essential part (it will really make or break your season!), but I know it can be very overwhelming. I'd love to help you prep and plan your garden with my comprehensive course "How to Plan a Garden: Step-By-Step"! Check it out here: learn.thehomes.... and use my code "GARDEN" for 10% off! See you over there :)
If you missed my July garden tour, definitely go check it out!

That's a great idea!
Beautiful garden. Yes, please do a September. Can't wait for snow pictures too! Florida girl here. Lol😊
Hooray! Will do :)
Enjoyed seeing you on epic gardening. Then found your channel. Im in Chicago area. Need more channels with zone 5 and lower! Hope you'll be posting regularly.
Yay! I'm glad you found me and yes! My goal is to get my YT channel up and running - I'm editing video #3 as we speak :)
Please do post an update in September.
Okay! Will do! 🙌🏼
i loved this! can’t wait to see your harvest 🧡
:) :) :)
just a tip with your leeks, don't pull them out. Cut them off leaving about 2 inches in the ground and they will regrow. I do it every year with store bought, just plant the base and you get another leek.
What zone do you live in? I'm wondering if that would work in zone 3 Minnesota.
Beautiful garden, yes please doa September video 😊, i was interested in how you water the garden, do you have a set up?
Thank you so much, and okay! I'll plan on doing another one next month :) I just have a basic sprinkler setup (overhead watering), but I rarely ever turn it on! We usually get decent rainfall in MN, plus I don't need much water since I mulch with organic straw.
I’m amazed how everything is growing. Wow.
I'm so happy with it! It seems to be thriving despite it's traumatic start :)
Absolutely beautiful garden 😍 😊❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
Wow!! Such a beauty garden ❤ You don't like to freeze dry they kale?
Yes.... absolutely WOULD LOVE a September garden tour 😁❤️🤗
I should give it a try! I'll make sure to do a September tour :)
What are some resources you used when you first started learning about gardening?
I pretty much taught myself entirely from this book: amzn.to/3t8Q8eG it's amazing!
@@thehomesteadingrd, awesome, thank you so much! I will be sure to check it out! We also have very clayey soil, so I’m eager to see how you manage yours! ☺️
What kind of coop/cover was that in the end of the video? I’m moving and need something temporary for my chickens as well
I think that was probably the carport and electric poultry netting that we used last summer after we moved. It was great for the summer and gave us some time to get their permanent coop put together
