Have a 1961 VW panel bus I bought in Albuquerque back in 1991. I moved back east, and it sat in my barn for over 25 years until I retired and restored it. Wanting to keep it as original as possible, I wanted to keep it 6 volt. Replaced the entire harness with one that used the exact same wire colors as OE. It was a pain, but I don't expect to ever have a electrical problem with it. Always enjoy your videos, Mike!
Thanks Mike! Tricks of the trade! A lot of things often overlooked. I appreciate you showing and educating us on the different types of electrical cleaners. 🙌
There's a lube/ oxidation protectant the radio restoration guys use after using contact cleaner. That stuff brings back long life to switch contacts. Thanks for the reminder on the star washers, something I always manage to forget to buy more of! Great vid!
I replaced all dash switches and every electrical component on the car with Genuine New Old Stock. All screw-terminal connectors are NOS. Original 6 volt system. New battery by Optima will not spill acid.
I completely re wired my '63 converted to 12v a couple years ago. Every single wire in the car and replaced every single bulb. Used Wolfsburg West harness and it was very nice and easy to follow the schematics. However, I got a different relay and now it clicks constantly when the car is on. Any idea on exactly what relay I need to get? (link?)
I have a electrical question. Ona 64 bug all stock 6 volt when a turn signal is on and I hit the brakes the turn signal stops Any thoughts on what’s the deal. I let off brakes it will go back to blinking
Invaluable advice and I wish I had this a couple of weeks ago when I was stymied as to why my front turn signals stopped working.

Great tips and tricks from Mike 😊🏴
Dielectric is non-conductive. It acts as an insulator.
exactly.....but works great when the connection is good.
In my neck of the woods, rodents are the #1 cause of any vehicle's electrical problems.
i have my share here as well. I use baking soda and muffin mix. But still way too many around here.
Finally, someone knows what dielectric is
Try No- Ox id for conductive grease
Excellent
