Yep, just like C6Z was road course focused but kills on the street and strip, I love C7Zs too but I’m glad Chevy went back to the N/A recipe, C8Z has the soul of C6Z in supercar configuration.
@@lg740xx the C6 ZO6 out sold the ZR1 every year but 2 the years they were both available, and the 2 years the ZR1 sold more it was by like 100 or less, in total there were around 26,000 ZO6s made to less than 5000 ZR1s. The ZO6 was $60-70k new, the ZR1 was supposed to start at $80k but $120k was what people had to pay, it will probably be the same with C8Z cars, the ZR1 and Zora will be $180k+, Zora will be $250-300k probably.

The time was beaten, and the difference is the Z06 will destroy the GT500 all day on any unprepped surface. You only have a chance with a GT500 at a prepped track. Outside of that, it will get murdered from any stop. The C8 Z51 puts car lengths on it from a stop and doesn't get passed until 100+ mph. The GT500 is heavier, but with a Supercharged V8. The power curves of a supercharged V8 vs an N/A V8 are night and day. Race a base C8 vs a GT350 anywhere you want and see the brutality.
True. The conditions make a significant difference too…the DA etc. Just saw another… with a decent driver…but not the best DA etc. similar results and even lower mph, and the track prep was good
Gear ratios and pretty horrendous aerodynamic shape are the reason why even with 670 hp, it cant break 130 mph. Those gigantic front bumper openings, side scoops, the awkward wing (so your uncle can lift golf clubs over) ride height all contribute to the problem. GT3s pretty much get very similar times with 170 hp less and a lot more downforce and skinnier tires. Dont you see the problem?
I see a good launch but its really slow for 670 hp. I dont think its the driver’s fault. Maybe too heavy? Or gearing? 10.9-11 is what a GT3 does and same or 1mph slower trap with only 500 hp.
I did check DA. Not ideal…around 1,100ft. Honestly think it may have been their first 3 passes too. But ya I’d say weight if a GT3 goes 10.9 at 500hp… that’s gotta be a bit light
Oh please. these cars will do a 10.5 to 10.3 all day with traction. Easy to see the tires spinning and you can hear them. One squeak and your down 1 tenth. These cars need a slick tire bad anway. Knowone has done this yet.

They're a lot slower than my top fuel dragster at the strip, also a lot slower than a Z06 at the track. Actually even slower than a camaro at the ring.
Your stock Hellcat won’t corner at 1.2G, stop from 100 in 95 ft, and run laps faster than Porsche GT3s. This is designed to be a track (circuit) car, not a dragster.

I mean, a clean hellcat run, rated 707hp, is around 11.4 at maybe 125mph. With a launch like this one....clearly someone just learning the car. Not bad at all IMO, for 670HP, which these days does seem a shade low, with the GT500 at 760, 720s is 710hp, etc.. Dodge lists 11.1 for the time for a Redeye, at 797HP. Good number IMO. I don't think you're ever running a 10 with the older 707hp Hellcats, bone stock.
I know Emilia shaved a few tenths down to 10.6/10.5, as a very experienced driver, probably launching pretty good...the first pass I saw this make was a 10.9...which is really impressive, IMO, especially if it was actually the first 1/4 mile pass in the car.
Teslas are very consistent...almost too much, LOL. Have to give the Z06 props, as I remember seeing the C6 Z06 out and most people I saw would start off in the 12.xxx/120.xx range.
The plaid isn’t even that fast for a drag car 😂 it’s got 1,100 whp and barely beats a dodge demon by 3 tenths with 765 whp and that’s literally half the price of the plaid if the hellaphant with 1000 hp to the crank already did 9.1 secs and that’s with a bad launch with a perfect launch it does 8.8 secs the plaid has awd and can’t even break under the 9s with 100 more hp and better aerodynamics not to mention it costs 190k lol embarrassing
