The week before I won a twitter competition run by BetVictor to go to the matchplay on the Wednesday night (night before this match) with VIP tickets and it was incredible I was sat just behind where the players families sit and Ricky Hatton was sat just down with us! Met many players including Peter Wright, Mensur Suljovic, Tony O Shea, Rob Cross, Darren Webster, Chris Mason. Couldn’t get the Thursday off work so after drinking until 1am I left the hotel at 5am and got the train back home just in time for 9am. Got home, put the darts on and crashed. Good memories

One thing about this was that the standard was incredibly high but averages weren't being banged on about all the time, which allowed me to just enjoy the game and be taken in by it. I wish it was like this all the time.

This was a phenomenal match, and dare I say it, the thing that kept Joe from winning this game was despite the 170 was the ton plus finishes, he missed the double for about 4 ton plus checkouts in this game
Joe is a very talented player keep it up pal you will get there you want to be don’t push a two time world champion for the crack seen you playing a lot since quality player
The best man on the night didn't win? The best man on the night over came all obstacles and pressures and did win. As good a case of thinking before engaging mouth if there ever was one. Feel for you Joe, but Gary didn't put the fly there, nor did he let adversity put him off.

He is very close to probably becoming, (along side Anderson) a class act. Can't see it, can't feel it. Enigma? No!
Gary is always up there he's in nearly every final 'the guy never misses 'but I put a bet on gerwen price to win the worlds 'and quess what I won 5 grand hooray pricey was playing so well I couldn't resist it 'but that's it no more bets 'I'm away wif 5 grand hooray
Gary is my favorite of all time. When he hit that nine darter and the crowd was roaring it gave me goosebumps
