Mat the AAM-3 is from (1991), the Python-4 (1994) the AAM-3 and the Python-4 are contemporaneous and both shares a similar seeker technology (IR/UV) Like the stinger seeker have soo... that explains why the AAM-3 is very hard to flare even more hard than the R-73, 9M and Magic-2.
so what youre saying is remove aim 7 and 9 for barak II and give it python 4

@@molstad182 thank god. I’m starting to lose my sanity going over US vehicles forums and video. Between the SepV2 and the American f15 which isn’t that great (compared to the mirage and su), US mains are basically asking for Aim9X and more modern APFSDS, which, against Russia, fair enough, but for other nations, would be a disaster
@@molstad182 yes am saying that is the Barak II is suposed to have the Python-4 not the sparrow or 9M.
Instead of spamming flares the best way is probably going to be to just drop some flares and then change direction, if the IRCCM works the same way as on the 9M that should be enough to avoid the AAM-3
The IRCCM isn't like the 9M its dual channel, so when it turns off its primary seeker it activates a secondary visual seeker. It can continue an accurate track after being flared as a result
The F4EJ Kai used the AAM-3 as well so time to add it... Like the Kurnass having the Python 3
python 3 is not equal and the kurnass has no aim7s. Only fair if the ej kai goes to 12.0 and you dont want that. Or add python-4s

It is said to have improved range and a mach 3-3.5 speed but the speed isn't reflected ingame, I wish we had a way to test its range on the dev

(Makes me wondering why they never added the AAM-1 and AAM-2).

AAM-1 was equal or slightly better then AIM-9B but due to cost and introduction of AIM-9E AAM-1 was discontinued.
AAM-2 was a prototype missile based on the AIM-4 BUT upgraded through the roof having a larger warhead, better range, limited all aspect, proximity fuse. The only reason AAM-2 did not make it to production status was due to costs.

@@alighera6546No he did not, there wasnt a disaster you are talking about as the prototype AAM2 has limited all aspects which could help the base F4 EJ, while the latter would help the F86-f40 with an improvement
As it stands in its config file the aam3 is using the same irccm as the 9M, even using the same amount of time for how long the seeker is off (0.4 seconds)
That's ba tho the IRCCM of the aam3 is better than the one used in the 9M. The aam3 flare resistance should be similar to that of a stinger, which we know that the stinger completely ignores flares even from front aspectm

This is the only missile in all my years of olaying warthunder that is seemingly fucking magnetized to friendly aircraft and its fucking frustrating ive never ever had this issue with the 9m 9l or anything below that

I want to know which variant of the aim-9M we have and if we'll get better versions in the future because the f-16C block 50 with an early aim 9M is just kinda weird
we have the earliest version (literally a 9L with irccm), and let's be honest, won't be getting a better version anytime soon cause america isn't allowed to have the better versions of their own equipment
@@mlgrocket The AIM-9L in-game isn't even accurate to begin with. It should have about a 35 G limit, not 30 G, with some sources saying up to even 40 G.
and despite the 9L having “inaccurate pull” its still an amazing missile that will do everything you want it to if you use it well
@@lucinator8582 No, it _used_ to be an amazing missile. Now, after they nerfed it into oblivion, it has the flare resistance of an R-60 (aka, none at all). It even tracks other missiles over the afterburning jets of aircraft, much like the R-60.

@@ferdinane.w4753 It's possible to lock Sidewinders on a ground target, at least the Aim-9X can. There was even a variant of Sidewinder named AGM-87 Focus made for attacking lightly armored vehicles and it was used in Vietnam

Well good video and all, but if your friend doesn't know how to dodge IRCCM properly. Especially the US IRCCM is very easy to dodge.. i think you said so aswell at like 2:55. The Magics or the R-73s do have better IRCCM technology
i think gaijin should add a later variant of the AIM-9M where it can pull 40g's but maybe make it less potent and a slower activation time to make it balanced for the F-15A

@@lasagnaspecial8125No you're fine, they actually have the stat of Aim9L to have 35g-40gs irl I think before it was also 35g on forum discussion, its just that all missiles ingame are not that accurate to real life(Its a game well) and most G load on stat card are raw or maintained Gs since some missiles cannot pull that hard at launch and reach maximum maneuverability midflight - this is why ground launch or heli launched AAM look maneuverable when in their midway course to the target ingame - plus we might never see a day them ever accurately model an AAM that isnt russian 😂 how many changes had the aim9L have I cannot count

AAM-3 was developed by Mitsubishi to replace the AIM-9L, so I think it will have the same specifications as the AIM-9M. Actually both AIM-9L and AIM-9M have G limit of 45G but Gaijin has nerfed it to 30G
Where is this info from? I can only find this CTTO Harrier Tactics Manual 2nd Edition, which states that it can do 32Gs or 45 in a combined plane? I'm guessing when making corrections in two planes simultaniously.

R73 is so easy to flare. It’s honestly comical.
@@kipwings depends on the distance, if it's close in any aspect that's not an head on it's basically impossible to flare, in a dogfight for example
I feel like Japan needs the AAM-3 to be the best missile Japan hasnt really had anything good and its lacking in ground air and helis. I feel like keeping the AAM-3 how it is right now is perfect but reduce the IRCCM a bit so it actually seems like its possible to avoid the missile in closer ranges. Range of a Aim-9m and IRCCM of a R-73 and Aim-9m combined thats legit what the missile feels like

@@fate3071 r-73 is shittiest top tier missile (no afterburner and flare = 80% dodge chance) and to country r-27er you need just to stay low lol)
