Today we're looking at the unused, cut and hidden content of the sixth game in the 'Mario Kart' series, Mario Kart Wii.

The reason why 4:54 is glitchy is because it was directly imported from Double Dash, making the Wii hardware very confused.

2. Rosalina's emblem was originay a regular star instead of a Power Star
3. An early icon for Koopa Cape accidently used the Wario's Gold Mine version of the Mario Kart banner
4. Early mode of the Quacker bike
5. Early modes of the baby princess crying animation with there crowns moving
6. Early animation for Luigi
7. The original icon for the BEST Rainbow Road show the awesome Launch Star being blue instead of rainbow
Also, the boost panels were originally rainbow, but it was changed to a purple - orange gradient

0:23, The old Mario Kart Wii Logo looks alot like the paint logo used in Mario Kart DS.
Well, it may have originally been based on Mario Kart DS, which similarly in turn had its beta based on MKDD (minus the two characters per kart, that is).
1:25 Those circles are actually used. Yellow is for the coins in coin runners.
Blue and red are for the now defunct tournament mode, they represented the objectives in-map.

I had been avoiding clicking these for a while because I thought it would just be some dude reading off tcrf without explaining anything (didn't understand how there would be so many videos). Clearly, I was mistaken. One thing I'd like to add, though, is that you should try to find a commentary style that fits your voice. I understand you have to get through a lot in a short time, but it seems that you're struggling to keep up with your script! Heh, I can hear you getting out of breath sometimes. Saying that, is that just the guest? If so, ignore my pointless rant.
Also, not sure why you called the Topman stage unused then said it wasn't straight after. Probably should work on how you phrase that because when you inevitably blow up you'll end up with entire comment sections pointing stuff like that out xD

Saying the stage was not unused straight after was my mistake with the script. Turns out I accidentally put a "t" instead of a "w" for the end of "now"!

Wait there is no mii outfit c? WHAT?! When I was a kid, mii outfit c was a myth and I even bought a book on the cheats for the Wii when I was like 9. It's said there was a mii out c but you had to get like an impossible score or something in time trials.

The course "Draw_Demo"'s filename (well, "Draw_Demo.szs") follows the filename trend of used files, such as Winningrun_demo and Loser_Demo (or Lose_Demo/Losing_Demo, can't remember). These are the courses used when mario wins/loses a GP (and gets cut to the awards scene), respectively. This suggests that Draw_Demo would be used when the game is a draw/tie, though its exact purpose is unknown. In the final game, if there was a tie, it would give the edge to Player 1, then P2, then P3, then P4, then CPU1, then CPU2, and so on.

mkwii was how I was introduced to gaming. (i'll put it at favorite game series of all time)
You can see the wiimote. Start up a split screen game and on player 1 press start and there you go

I just got this game recently and love it! It's probably my second favorite now, with Mario Kart DS being first. Since Super Mario Galaxy is my most favorite game I think I would have enjoyed that galaxy themed course!

Mario Kart DS came up with Mission Mode, Mario Kart Wii tried to continue with it, to later reject it, than later games didn't even try to implement it, sometimes I don't understand Nintendo.
Hi, odd point here, but I love how immediately after I get the idea of doing a series just like this, but just called 'cut content,' or CC:, i find another channel doing it, haha. The video was great though!

Just to let you know, 'galaxy colosseum'.
Coliseum refers to an outdoor stadium (like the one in the game) and Colosseum refers to the one in Rome.
The mission tracks were used. However, not anymore since Nintendo WFC shut down. Each mission was assigned to all players in each month and players could try to beat their high score similar to time trials. I remember fondly playing these missions and trying to compete against other players highscore from across the globe.
That wasn't mission mode. That was competition mode (EU)/ tournament mode (US). It is thought that this cut mission mode would work similar to Mario Kart DS's mission mode.

The extra lap numbers actually werent unused, they were used in the online tournaments where some challenges had more than 3 laps, such as racing around cookie land

I dumped a few textures and images with Dolphin. I found a few images that were different from the icons when selecting your character, but they weren't too far off. The regular icons show a side view of the character heads, and the image resolutions are 64x64. The other icons show the characters looking forward, and the image resolutions are 32x32. I don't know where they are used, or if they are used.
Edit: I'm an idiot. They're used on the minimap :/

Recently found your channel, I don't know how I didn't find it earlier. I love what you are doing. I love these kinda videos. Although a bit of humor could be added to make the video better, I give it 9/10. One of the best videos ive seen in a while.
I think the reason why Petey piranha was a scrapped character because the character models for the character previews are the same for double dash and I guess the data for the model had to many bones and/or to much data
I think he, Paratroopa and Hammer Bro were cut due to the roster already having too many enemy characters.
