Gonna be upgrading my Jackson RR24X series from a Floyd Special to a full OFR and I will certainly be picking up some FU Tone parts for it. I'm excited to get rid of the thin tinny sound of this guitar.
Question: I just got an HM strat reissue with the Floyd Special. I can't afford to replace the whole system but I do want a denser/heavier block for better vibrato action. Problem is, it comes with a "34mm" crapola zinc block. I haven't measured yet but the cavity looks like it can't take too much more. You think a 37 would be okay? Also, don't the springs need to be more or less parallel or is that a myth?
I canceled an order for 37 for the stock 32 size, because I realized the springs wouldnt be flush with the stock claw position Is that not an issue? Should I have just went with the 37 even if springs would be on an incline
Is it possible for the sustain block to be pulling too hard and creating too much tension to the point where your neck is becoming bowed and when you try to adjust the truss rod it turns up to a certain point but then stops and the neck is still bowed?, because that's what I think is happening to my Charvel DK24 after I put a 37mm brass sustain block on, since "bigger is better"!!! Anyone?
No that aint possible, maybe you adjust the trussrod in whrong direction, turn the wheel right, or take it to a tech if you feel you will mess something up
My cavity depth from bridge toward rear strap lock is only 3/4 inch. I know a fat block will fit. BUT! Can I still get a full dive bomb to where the strings go totally limp, Without the bottom of the block bottoming out on the back of the cavity?
Thanks For The fast response. I was wondering one last thing. What is your take on the TUNGSTEN sustain block that I have seen no reviews on what so ever?
I would say no because I have the same guitar and I put a 37mm block in and the back plate won't close now. Also having lots of problems with neck relief now.
@@jesterman1302 According to Randy Wilcox and the 37mm block he installed it is possible but you have to route the front cavity of where the block stands so you can pull up on whammy etc. Check out the first few comments of this video and he tells of it. ua-cam.com/video/wztJrDLRA-E/v-deo.html&lc=Ugxg5tthho61w54fcRh4AaABAg.9Fq0FqtyVgf9FqAsNyNIfv
If the bridge is floating and the block sticks out beyond the back of the guitar - you could knock it out of tune. If you are blocked for dive only it is not the worst thing in the world. IF you went too, I can swap it for the right size for you.
Mine isn’t. But it doesn’t want to do the warrable effect. And pitch changes. I’ve replaced bushings springs. The edge looks good but it is a Floyd special.
Love mine! These things are great. Thanks Adam.
Where in the world did you get a RED Floyd? That's cool as Hell!
You mean "FU"... - It's a prototype. Coming out soon!
@@mystic1160 Some in the works right now - Email for details. adam@fu-tone.com
Awesome vid Adam .. yes bigger is better !! Fu-tone rules ... more brass !!!

unfortunately it won't get rid of a tinny sounding guitar, it will only help your sustain. The overall tone of the guitar remains intact
Thank you!

hey Adam, if you were to make a floyd rose completely out of tungsten (nut claw springs and all) how much would it weigh?
I do not make tungsten (sounds like crap)... Ti is the jam!
I would love to see a copper vs titanium vs brass comparison
Yes! Lot's of new videos coming! Will do that one for sure!

Hey Adam, which block do i need for a Jackson js34? It has a licensed by floyd rose trem by Jackson... thanks!!!!!
It propably has a 34 now like most imports, Maximum get a 37, but you might need to keep the plastic back cover off
For to Ibanez s series what size of sustain block needed??
32 mm? 37 mm or 42 mm?
diving is easier with a bigger block?!
What size do you recommend for an Ibanez 550 with Edge trem?
This is the one you need - www.fu-tone.com/product/brass-sustain-block-for-ibanez-edge/

Always measure. I have been putting 42L Blocks in the new Fender made Wolfgang's and Stripe Series.
