@@AgileStateofMind Thank you. I work alone mostly and have to complete about 50 tasks a day, on average. I like the idea of the scrum board even though it seems to be set up for teams. Your explanation about walking from right to left really made sense to me and I wanted to say thank you. Have an awesome day!
@@joedelarios1 That's a lot of tasks per day! Glad it made sense to you, I love walking the board. Now I find it really hard to follow a traditional Daily Scrum that revolves not around the task board but around the people's schedules.
Thank you! Using this with all my teams after watching this. So far they like it and no more 'I was in XYZ meeting yesterday, had a 1:1 with my manager, and took my dog for a walk' standups.
Excellent advice. I teach "walking the board" in my Certified ScrumMaster classes and the light bulbs that go on when students learn this is just amazing. Excellent work, Maria, you are doing Scrum a credit with your videos.
Thank you! Means a lot. Glad to be helping the teams all over the world to leave the three questions on the standup behind and find new ways of collaborating.
So much is said in this video beyond the title. I particularly like the swimlanes; my teams board is difficult to understand. We don't currently use product goals or sprint goals (I'm working on it!) and it seems like there are items in the backlog that are no longer a priority but because they are tasks to be done they are being accepted into the sprint with little measure of value. I love the challenge that I'm currently up against as a SM here and the team are awesome and are giving me their support as we go through adaptations together. But I think the swimlanes for me will make the work way more visible and allow us to focus on, and articulate the value that we are delivering rather than just a list of features. Thanks!
God damn this was useful! Really like the swim lane idea and the two questions. I'm new to being a Scrum Master and can't wait to try these out. Great work and thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Hi Keith, I haven't, I'll give it a try. Although it has never been a problem of mine for the Daily Scrums not to happen every day. What's more, int he remote era, I actually think the standups are not always necessary on a daily basis.
With complete respect ! Rotate the facilitator, Isn't that deceiving Scrum ? Facilitator is always a scrum master, correct me if I am going wrong? Thanks
Let me answer with a question: who is the owner of the Daily Scrum? According to the SG2020, the Developers. And they decide on the structure of the meeting, not the Scrum Master. So in order for them to take the ownership of the meeting, my best bet is to let them facilitate it. Here is more info about it, very short paragraph: www.scrumguides.org/scrum-guide.html#daily-scrum What do you think?
Be careful with with expedites 👉🏽flow debt 👉🏽biais towards putting everything there I really recommend you deep dive into Vaccanti ‘s work on that (drink agile channel )
Hey Dawn, funny you say that! I used stickies only to show it better on the video. I have used Walk the Board with many teams and their JIRA boards. I don't think I have used it with any team on physical board. I think you might want to try if you see value in walking the board for your team.
Thanks!
Thank you, Joe! 🤩

@@AgileStateofMind Yes, that seems complex! Perhaps you know of something that allows for this?

Cool video! From Russia with love!
Well done!
Thanks thanks thanks! Can’t thank enough
A new scrum master excited to try this out tomorrow!
Awesome! 🙂Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks. Our team came up with these for our task card in progress, on track/ready for Q&A, blocked/behind schedule, complete 😅
Sounds great!
Hey thanks. Great run down of the process. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. You have a fun approach.
Hey Anthony, thanks! It means a lot to me.
I like your style. Amazing video. Thanks a lot! :)
Thanks, Tom!
Great chanel! What's more you have exactly the same books on your shelf as I do :D

Hi Maria, Have you tried using Standup Alice with your daily standups? For me it has been a game changer in making sure standups happen every day.

Great inspiring video, now I just need someone to do this video outside Agile Dev, just for regular teams :)
Hey thanks. What would be the difference for team that are not dev?
Support or operation team
Will use or to study thanks

I am not sure it works for my teams we work with the Jira board and this method works with sticky notes and a whiteboard, not a Jira board.

@@AgileStateofMind Hi. How do you flag a blocked issue in Jira? For me it's much better to have a Blocked status, so it's clear if you open the board.
@@zsivanykiraly Right-click the issue in Jira and select "Flag"
