Would love to see a range and charging test on the Y. Awesome choice ahead of the Juniper Y. I hope you do a comparison between the 2 Ys next year. Always great to see your informative videos.
Had the same Y and also did the Energy Boost upgrade. Ended up with 305-310 miles of indicated range (from 260 miles.) Also loved the Y. Was never an SUV/CUV type guy, but the Y made me understand the allure of that class vehicle. Congrats on the 1000 mile trip yesterday.
@@robertlmoon Thanks! Every month I go 1000 miles down, 1000 miles back up between Michigan and NC to visit my wife. We're separated by our jobs. I did the first couple when it was still 260 miles before the Boost and it was still effortless. First CUV for me too but I'm convinced now (always been a huge guy driving small cars up to now).
@@brandenflasch Road trip monster. I'm really hoping the new LFP batteries that Tesla is supposed to be license building at some point are available in three years or so when I'm ready to trade out of this one.
What tires came with it? Just curious if they have changed those at all now? Also, does your new car have the Panasonic or LG battery? What is the capacity of the battery?
I traded in the same scenario as Branden. Definitely noticably faster charging and same ride quality. I test drove it before and made sure to drive down terribly bumpy side streets and didn't notice any then. Definitely notice a small dip in acceleration.
I thought you might comment on the sound quality of this system has compared to the previous one. Also, are there lights in the foot wells on the front seat as well as all the rear seats also heated?
I’m curious on which brand of tires yours came with. I see that it’s the standard 19 wheels. The reason I ask is my friend his came with Continentals (but his was Fremont built), mine came with the Pirelli Scorpions but mine was Austin built like this one (according to your sticker).
I don’t think the rear wheel comes with the upgraded sound system either. That was one of the factors that made me just go with the all wheel 2024 LR Model Y
Thanks for the info, I've got 71k miles on mine from work. So I'd probably be looking at a bit more OoP. It's not particularly worth it rn in that case, IMO. Probably try and just swap for a newer used one with less mileage at around the 250k mark in 2-3 yrs
Congratulations looking forward to seeing your content on road tripping this vehicle. Wise decision offloading your 4860 for a faster charging model Y by the way was this vehicle manufactured in Austin, Texas or Fremont, California?
I don't own a Tesla yet. I'm an Apple user and find iMessages via Car Play very convenient. I know Tesla doesn't have Car Play. Do Tesla owners live with not hearing / responding to messages on trips? I can imagine someone texting me while I'm on a trip and it being 2 hours before I charge and answer them....
Besides the year 2025, is there any difference from the 2024? Also wish you could get premium stereo with paying extra. But really both models should come with it! I bought the duel motor long range for the northern michigan weather. Perhaps my next tesla i would get rear wheel drive only. After seeing others having no problem in winter with rearwheel drive.
I would be curious to know in your ventures if you pop one of the covers off with no speaker 🔊 I bet there is a wire harness minus speaker. If so you have contacts who could probably hook you up.
When and where was your Y made? The one's I have seen coming out of Austin have carpet on the sides by the door frame and magnetic closures on the center storage area. Congratulations, but you should have waited for the new Y.
Sorry to tell you that you don't have a 2025 Model Y! Tesla does actual years, not model years. You have a 2024! Not as cool, huh? The same as my 2023... Same ol' same ol'. You're gonna see the 2025 Juniper version when you realize you have a 2024 Model Y. Find a VIN decoder and realize your error!

I have the 2024 RWD with the Energy Boost "It now says "Long Range" on the screen. Love it! Just finished another 1000 mile one day drive yesterday.

It's such an unbelievably practical vehicle.

Pirelli and Panasonic - 80.2kWh
@ 80.2 kWh. Is that usable? Is it the same 82.1 kWh gross battery as in the US Model 3 Performance?
@ yes, Panasonic pack
Two more differences: The RWD doesn’t have rear cover that goes across the top in the trunk and no fog lights
Good catch
I'll be curious to see the difference in charging and if you think it feels any different to drive at all with it not being a structural battery pack.

Awesome I got a 2025 also I get it on the 31st
Since you have a hitch do a towing test.

Thanks for the new video and 2024 content. Safe travels and Happy New Year. ⚡⚡
Is the regen braking different on a RWD vs dual motor? I hear that since it’s only single motor the regen is not as strong.
Same 85kW
I have the same 2023 awd you did, what was the damage (cash wise) for the trade in/upgrade to the 25 LR?
I paid $14K out of pocket to trade in, got the $2K QuickSilver too. I purchased the 4680 Y in March 2023 and had 28K miles on it.

@ just curious my 2019 model 3 was manufactured in Fremont CA so far holding up well at 92,000 miles
Any insight as to if / when V2L is coming for this car?
How does it sound n drive with just rear wheel drive after all the miles on the other one that was four wheel drive?
Essentially the same
We need juniper asap, that interior looks outdated
Very nice car specially with the white interieur, i'm missing the parcel shelve? congrats with the purchase en enyoy it.😃
Please tell us about the rear plate sub frame. Thanks
What?
@@brandenflasch At 5:23 it appears you have some sort of license plate under your rear plate.
@ that's just the factory mounting plate
Is your new car a Texas build or Fremont?
Texas
@brandenflasch thanks. My GF got same configuration as you in July out of Fremont. She loves it and does all her charging at home.
Missed the zero and low finance deals December 15 so just waiting next year when Tesla doesn't need tax rebate to sell cars lol
I'm sure there will be deals in Q1
No parcel shelf cover?
Nope
The accessory outlets are 15.5VDC nominal, some 12VDC devices will not function with this high a voltage.
I've yet to have issues with many devices

You can have your messages read and can respond
Given your ownership of a 4680 Model Y and your experience with the Cyber Truck would you say battery day 2020 was a flop?
Yes.
Do you ever miss your R1T?
Occasionally but Teslas are great

Shouldn't be any changes - I agree about audio!
Let me know if the cheaper stereo is much different from the premium.
@@stevebbbbi5438 it's not as good but still better than most cars

Audio quality is still great. You do notice the lack of subwoofer, but I'm not a big bass guy anyways.
Mine did not come with floor mats
This is probably a better combo, lr, with rwd, Better range and the awd isn’t really needed as well as it being fast enough
Plenty fast for just about everyone
@ yes I’d agree with that, I live in Wisconsin so the awd is nice but if I was in the sunbelt the rwd is the model I’d choose,
Definitely notice slower acceleration when I'm already moving. Like if I need to punch it to squeeze merge on the interstate. No big problem tho.
Does this have 4680 cells ?
Absolutely not
You dumped the 4680 Y?
Yes, look at my prior videos
When and where was your Y made? The one's I have seen coming out of Austin have carpet on the sides by the door frame and magnetic closures on the center storage area. Congratulations, but you should have waited for the new Y.
The ones like you describe are like my prior Model Y which was a 4680 structural pack build instead of a long range.
I believe that your car is a 2024 model year as the 2025 model Y has yet to be released.
Per the VIN it is a 2025MY.

@Hamza-ek8xy means nothing except that it's going to be confusing on the used market. Tesla had refresh and non-refresh Model S in 2021.
It's not a 2025 The new model Y hasn't been released yet
