There's something refreshing about watching these "full series" videos like I've seen a bunch of these videos before (not all of them) but I'm enjoying this immensely also. The inclusion of additional b roll is genius. Keep it up Mike
While I appreciate all the effort it takes to put these videos together and am regularly a huge fan of your content, these compilations worry me that you may have run out of material. If you needed a break during the holidays, I'd personally just have left it with a gap instead of recycling content. All that negativity aside, I do want to thank you for bringing us, the viewers, along for some of the most unique rides, at no additional cost to us besides time and a couple ads. You are the reason I started to get into riding trains, even if Amtrak makes it really hard to love many times. Thank you for highlighting trains and I look forward to more unique content in the future!
It gives newer viewers an opportunity to see older content they may not have previously seen, and a creator the opportunity to make some additional revenue. Magazines and tv shows recycle and repackage content all the time for the same reason. They know the die hards may not watch, but it’s a net positive. The die hards will mostly shrug it off but won’t unsubscribe, so no harm. Just look at the view count.
Yay! An hour of Downie Live! Just what is needed between Christmas and New Year. Hope you all had a great time and wishing you all the best for 2025! xxx
Mike, thank you so much for this really fun video! Talk about travelling! I do have tell you that earlier this year, in May, I visited a friend who lives in Pittsburgh! And I got to ride The Duquesne Incline and take some pictures of downtown Pittsburgh! Thank you again for this really cool video! I really appreciated it!
I love the energy you bring to your videos! I feel so lucky to have ridden all of these except the Roosevelt in NY, the Angels Flight, and the Morgantown mono. I'll add those to my list of places to go and rails to ride!
I've been to Winter Park three times two times in the summer which is the blast because you still get to slide down the mountain and once in the winter. This is going to be the best time of your life.
A recent "Miles in Transit" episode noted that the company that made the original street cars in New Orleans went on to become the current "Thomas" bus company. So the company is somewhat still in operation.
The PRT is not really a public transportation system. It is used to connect the WVU campuses and students ride for free with their student ID. That said, I did everything I could to avoid riding it during my time in Morgantown as it was unreliable.
Two things - I lived in San Francisco and commuted by cable car. It was great fun having to take it every day. But it could be miserable on cold rainy days. And those street cars were not there when I lived there only the Muni ones and they were very run down. I love what they have done in turning them into rolling museums. It has revitalized the street car lines. Second, I went to the 1962 Seattle World Fair. That monorail and the Space Needle did seen very futuristic. There were plans to expand the monorail, but it was so expensive to build, that never happened. Bummer. And yeah, Angel Flight exists because the tourists love it. I grew up in LA and took it once.
Lisa-maybe we passed on the street. I was in the Air Force on leave when I and my family visited the Seattle World's Fair. For our poor family, who barely had television, the entire fair was mind boggling.
The streetcars in San Francisco are amazing, and they come from all over the world. I went in one that was from Italy. I also went on the old Russian funicular in Prague. It was stair-stepped and had multiple doors. It was easy to board at the bottom of the hill but sketchy to disembark at the top of Petrin Hill. It was a beautiful park to walk back down the hill.
I've only ever acessed that Lamba street i believe ( time 13.11) when playing Grand Theft Auto, and I had no idea it existed 😁😁😁😁. Many thanks, Downie For giving us some right for someone like me who never had a clue.
Thanks Mike! I actually woke up to my phone notification that there was a new DownieLive video. LAST Saturday of the year.... LAST one to sleep in, however I was surprised with almost an hour long video with fun, SMILEY Mike on some quick travel and cool rides in some cool places!! Now I really want to stay at the TWA hotel in JFK! Thanks, Mike!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!!!! 🎉🚆 🚂 🎿
I have been watching you for a while since I remember when you originally posted each of those videos. Do you think you could do a similar series involving Canada?
@DownieLive Yes and no. What I was thinking was long-term. Research if Canada has unique or historical transportation devices available to the public. Examples might include Edmonton's Radial Railway Streetcars, the tallest gondola in the Canadian Rockies, or the CN tower. You are so smart and creative that I can't wait to find out what Canada has to offer.
On Palm Springs' Ariel tramway , you can actually see the San Andreas fault running through the Coachella Valley. In the background, look for the white line at the top of the picture. Tom Crosby YQR
Glad you got to ride a hot air balloon in Albuquerque I told you before that I flew in a couple of rallies. I will try and find my $5 to join as soon as I get my new credit card. Thanks to Canada Post it is late. Have you gone up the Calgary Tower
Lets be real the American public transit sucks compared to the rest of the world, we need a train system like Europe. the infrastructure in the US is like the 1950s compared to Europe one of many reason the move to Europe is coming.
Why didn't you wear a helmet mounted cam for the skiing parts of the video? Good job on everything, but 22-mins is all I could stand, try making shorter video's, we all have other interests beside you on YT.
Another old video. Can’t you come up with new content? Are your so called producers that lazy? I know you flew North America to become a communist controlled person but your content used to be interesting what the hell happened?
Hah, love it when railway workers watch your content, and even meeting you! Influencing folks in a real and positive way!
if I understood correct that guy working for Amtrak did even because of him.
Really enjoy this series Mike! Thanks for the "big post" putting it all together!!

I personally love the recycled content with new context and an hour of good rides.
What a wonderful holiday gift! A full hour of Downielive! Thanks, Mike!
Yay! An hour of Downie Live! Just what is needed between Christmas and New Year. Hope you all had a great time and wishing you all the best for 2025! xxx

Seeing that tie dye bus with Jerry Garcia & some owsley bears on the side warmed my heart, we love the good old’ Grateful Dead 🫶
You should do impromptu fan meetups when you’re in cities!
STL here, would’ve loved to say hi!
Also from STL and came to comment the same thing 😅
Downielive video never fails to entertain us!
Love it. The Vegas Monorail is worth a ride.
The balloon when Mike was trying to be introspective: *”So anyway, I started blasting…”*
Thank you I enjoy your rain expeditions very much.
I'm sorry to conductor 5:40 Brad but the most scenic train ride is in Skagway Alaska i recommend to go on that train its beautiful.
What about the California zephyr more specifically through Nevada And Utah
@nuwame591 Na nothing beats Alaska
love these long full series you've been dropping lately. Keep it up man!
We have 2 more coming for you!

I've been to Winter Park three times two times in the summer which is the blast because you still get to slide down the mountain and once in the winter. This is going to be the best time of your life.
Thank you, Michael. I enjoyed the trips without getting tired.lol😂❤

Good complitation video. I’m sure I’m not alone when saying it’s nice to see good grouping of like videos. Have a good new year
I just LOVED the Seattle Monorail video. And then I saw it in a vintage National Geographic so it was surreal.
Definitely enjoying this series 🚞
Always a great video
What a video? I did not expect any of that. Greetings from Europe.
yay new downie live!
The brake smell in SF will always stay with me
Man, kudos for taking a hobby, traveling, & adventure into $ 👍🤛

Downie - just don't try to ride the St. Charles at 2AM to get back to your hotel! It's sooo busy I gave up and got a cab!😂
Happy new year 🎉 in advance sir Mike and stay safe to your journey
Love this edit also!

Welcome to another episode of planes, trains, and automobiles!
I love the san francisco trolleys and cable cars
Also did you try out the BART system in san francisco? Really cool and faster than driving.
Sorry, scratch that; i didnt see that part
I've only ever acessed that Lamba street i believe ( time 13.11) when playing Grand Theft Auto, and I had no idea it existed 😁😁😁😁.
Many thanks, Downie For giving us some right for someone like me who never had a clue.
I went hot air ballooning near Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, Australia this year. It's almost surreal being up there and so peaceful.
Great video 👍👍👍
The real answer to the fry question is, "Yes."
MARRY CHRISTMASS MAN🎉 AND STILL SE U NEXT TIME❤
🤘🤘
Fantastic, just another compilation of old videos put together 😂
And I love it 🙃
Don't be so negative ✌️
40:00 which movie was shot here?
Old video I’m assuming since the locks has miraculously returned
The Moscow Subway Stations are beautiful.
Mike, have you ever been to the lackawanna station in scranton?
Mike, you should look into the funicular that takes you in and out of Marvel cave at silver dollar city!
amazing!
What happened at 18:58?
I’ve been to Denver airport to the city on the same train to the station
Thanks Mike! I actually woke up to my phone notification that there was a new DownieLive video. LAST Saturday of the year.... I think you should check out the royal gorge tram or gondola

You should come over to the uk to london to try our underground and the docklands light rail

luv your videos, Mike, but please cut the hair, you look much much better with short hair!!!
This is an older video when he had long hair, I actually love the long hair, shame he cut it 😕

No one is asking you to watch his videos. Other people enjoy his content and he enjoys making his content.
