Because back then, they weren't aware the aether even existed, much less how to safely remove it. The syringe looking thing Rocket used in Endgame was much too big to be a simple syringe, so it's fair to assume the device has a lot of tech to handle the operation that time and study would've discovered by that point.

I like it that the MCU is referring to Physics or Astrophysics in general. Consider the Dark Elves here. They wanted darkness in the universe. Well...
In reality, the end of our universe will be cold and dark because of Dark Energy causing our universe expansion and also there are only a few stars being born. In the end, the universe will be nothing but darkness just as the Dark Elves wished. So sad. 😢😢😢

Malekith transformed the Reality stone into Aether. Aether is not weaker nor Malekith is, like many mistakingly assume. Aether just serves a single purpose: extinguishing light in the whole universe. Under right circumstances, Malekith could have done a feat compared to Thanos' snap, using a single stone. Also apparently none other than him or other dark elves may use it, in other cases Aether will simply feed on a host, eventually killing it. It's also sentient, it can call to potential hosts nearby and defend it when in danger. Why extinguish light? Exposure to it poisons the dark elves, so from their perspective, Aether is the key for their survival and single most valuable artefact in the universe, far more valuable than any other infinity stones.
The problem was that without the other stones, the reality stone alone would have taken a long time to transform the universe unlike the snap which was almost instant.
Bro the ether is the reality stone, malekith created the reality stone, all the stones were created or at least put together by someone or some thing
@@AllenAfrifa The reality stone, just like all other stones, is a relic from the big bang.
It was explained by Wong in the beginning of Infinity War.
Malekith molded the stone into Aether, so it could be semi-liquid, thus increasing its reach as much as he wanted and could.
As we saw with Thanos, the original stone properties are far less specific, but are area-limited.
All of the stuff on Asgard looks so cool

@@msb3235 in some ways yes, I'd agree. I just didn't like the complete change in Odin's character. It just felt disjointed.
This movie was way underrated, yo.
I was always bothered by the way Odin Borson seemed to have contempt for Jane Foster. I mean I know that Odin wanted Thor to be with Lady Sif but that is still a dick move to treat your son's lady friend that way.
I mean, he's a God. And Norse gods are all Jerks. Most of them anyway lol
They don’t beat around the bush with how they feel. They won’t act like they like you if they don’t.
🤔Hear me out, to Odin and most Asgardians judging by the way Loki refers to mortals, to them we are barely sentient creatures. It would be like your son telling you his new girlfriend is a Bonobo monkey, I'm sure you would be upset too. So basically I'm saying Odin just found out his son is a pervert.🤣😂
I think its a Bias against humans (Similar to the frost giants, a prejudice in their realm)
Casting Odin actor was the best casting

Weren't the dark elves otherwise known as Dwarves in the original mythology? And were master craftsmen who are the ones who forged Mjionir in the first place? And they generally stay in darkness in their own world of the 9 worlds because sunlight turns them to stone?
In mythology the æsir were the ones who came up with the Name “Svartálfheim” and Couldn’t tell the Difference between the Dwarves or the Dark elves, The Dark elves would have originated from Alfheim the Realm of The elves.
"Dwarfs". The modern plural "dwarves" was created by Tolkein.
Hence: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
So the The Dark Elves are the mirror universe version of the ones from The Lord of the Rings either that or they are the Sith version of them
Wow knowing about the Symbiote God Knull, it’s like in this universe, the Dark Elves want what he wants and bring the Universe back to Darkness
Funny how what’s widely considered one of the MCU’s weakest entries always seems to generate some level of continuity importance.
Yeah, they sort of knew it was a bit of a weak link so they did everything they could to try and 'rehabilitate' its image and place within the MCU.
A movie like The Incredible Hulk was almost completely brushed aside...but with The Dark World they kept going back to it. The way the mid-credits scene links right to Guardians of the Galaxy, the way Age of Ultron sort of links back to it, then Ragnarok full blown re-creates scenes from it and Endgame literally re-visits it. They really wanted to make sure that the trilogy for each of the "Big 3" all had a lot of impact.
This movie is no longer the worst in the mcu
I would like an odin story time. 😅
0:34 Nobody is gonna talk about the mythical Yggdrasil they just passed?
I'm theorizing this scene will be the key link to Secret Wars. Odin states "Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness and it was called the Aether." It is not explained how the Aether itself was created. I believe some of the Avengers will create each stone back in time before the beginning of the MC Universe. Where Loki creates the time Stone, Wanda creates the Aether, Monica creates the space stone, Jean Grey creates the mind stone, Black Panther creates the Power stone from Vibranium energy storage, and Doctor Strange casts a spell to create the Soul stone but at the cost of sacrificing his own life as he does in each movie he's in, this also completes his character arch of self sacrifice much like Tony did in Endgame as well as sets the Soul stone sacrifice rule.
Strange creating the Soul stone is a ridiculous idea

Lol! 'No it does not black swan goody two shoes Padme.' - Odin's contempt for her in the end is but too real.
I think Natalie's a good actor and I've always liked her as Jane but to me it felt like she totally phoned it in for this movie. Maybe it was the script and she felt she didn't have much to work with. For ex, the reunion scene between her and Thor where she slaps him and is all, where have you been? Yikes--who wrote that?? Her performance was noticeably different in the first Thor. Either way, I'm sure she'll be back up to par in the new Thor.
@@lurategh Jane wanted Patty Jenkins, the original Thor: The Dark World director to helm the movie, and when that didn't happen, she didn't want to work in the movie that much.
@@KostisPat257 Ooh I had no idea there was supposed to be another director.
@@lurategh Yes, she's a good actor for drama and serious movies. The lady sure can act. But not for this kind of science fiction/fantasy movies. And no, I don't think she was that good in Thor 1 either, she was merely decent. Maybe fantasy movies are just not her thing. Same thing happened in Star Wars; and before anybody tells me that was because of Lucas's crazy script and direction, look at Ewan McGregor and Sam Jackson in those movies. They killed it as Obi-Wan and Mace Windu.
So why couldn’t Malekith just make another Aether/ Reality Stone and simply just change reality to his liking? 🤷🏻♂️
Cos there’s only one reality stone? Malekith didn’t make the reality stone, the universe did. Plus all he did was use its powers to liquify it and add additional properties such as converting matter into dark matter.
@@a_s_r3276 “There are relics that predate the universe itself. Their leader Malekith made a weapon out of that darkness. It was called the Aether.”
@@americanpaisareturns9051 bruh. He made the aether, not the reality stone. It is stated twice that all 6 of the stones were created simultaneously during the Big Bang. And since dark elves came from a universe before hand, malekith knew about the entities and so used the reality stones own power to transform itself into a liquid with additional properties. He chose to use the reality stone since he wanted to make the universe dark again, so he would have wanted to ‘alter’ ‘reality’- which can be done by the aether/stone.
@@a_s_r3276 “The Aether first is not a stone. As someone called it a stone before. It’s more of a bit of an angry sludge thing. Someone is going to have to amend that.”
- Fat Thor Endgame
According to Odin, Malekith made the Aether before the universe was ever created. So the Big Bang did not create the Aether. Wong explains it differently to Tony. Then again, Wong is a human being. The history he knows is limited. Odin predates Wong and The Ancient One. Asgardians predate man. Odin’s history and knowledge base is much broader.
@@americanpaisareturns9051 the reason why he called it an angry sludge is bcos when he had seen it it was in its liquid form, and it had been in a liquid state during the events in dark world, so he was correcting them to say that it’s a fluid- not a stone. Since they would be looking for a stone that doesn’t exist yet, so he informed them it was a fluid.
The infinity stones were right there they were tiny golden dots but they were right there.

Still say this is how she got cancer, think of the damage happening to her body
I love how Thor's universe lore is loosely based on human endeavors.
At one point The Mongol Empire was the reigned absolute and they had weapons from the other side of the world that people have never seen before, cause at one point in human history no human could traverse the world without getting killed. But because the Mongol's were devouring their enemies so much, they used their enemies' weapons on new enemies and these guys didn't know how to counter it. Because in order to adapt to your enemy to must survive an attack to fight another day. Mongol's outnumbered almost any enemy until they had inner conflict all the brothers wanted to own the empire, so eventually, instead of taking over the world they broke off into smaller factions and wasn't strong enough to take over the world separately if the Mongol's decided to stick together, this world we live in today might be all Mongolia.
Imagine being the first to see a flamethrower, it would look like sorcery to you.
During Genghis Khan’s reign, he granted religious freedom to his subjects, abolished torture, encouraged trade and created the first international postal system and never allowed anyone to paint or sculpt his image, he didn't want the world to know him as the ruler, he wanted a system where everyone lived under one tribe.
Genghis Khan died in 1227 during a military campaign against the Chinese kingdom of Xi Xia. If Gengis didn't fall we would've been doomed.
