Great video but could you please explain why you use a different heat range plug.

How is your clutch holding up over time?

Fine so far Douglas. The big bore is running a clutch with an extra plate and that has over 10,000km on it with various engine configurations. I have a standard engine with 30,000km plus on it that still seems to be just fine but I will admit I haven't inspected it for wear. How is your clutch going? (and how many km's?)

High Octane Commuting Thanks for reply. My 2016 has just over 2500 km, The reason I ask is that I seem to use a fair amount of clutch when starting out in first gear.. Perhaps I need to have higher rpms starting out and less clutch. ...? What do you do when starting out in first ?

@@douglasrhine4640 I'm a probably not the kindest rider when it comes to clutches but a the type of clutch used in most motorcycles can take a reasonable amount of abuse. If you feel your riding the clutch too much (too slow to release it) then perhaps try a little careful experimentation when theres nothing in front of you and find what works best for you. The clutch will wear less if it is released fairly quickly but control is the key and simply dumping it will not end well. How quickly it should be released depends on whether you are going uphill or downhill, whether the bikes load is heavy or light and whether you are chugging away slowly or launching the bike like a missile. Its something that time and practice teaches us.

I really appreciate these videos. I am having issues getting a buddys cb125e running that was in a crash then sat for 3 years also it has had a side stand bypass because the stand was wrecked and maybe other crash related issues. I have been following your tutorials and I am wondering about the spark plug that is currently installed. It is a new ngk CPR8EA9 with a threaded terminal and the connection with the spark plug cap is not great and easily removed. It is sparking though. Would you recommend a threaded, solid plug or nut for the sparkie?

The standard arrangement is definitely the go. The crappy connection probably isn't helping however. Maybe a second hand item off ebay?
