I think you should watch "DARK" tv series
HEY!!!YOU NEED WATCH PSYCHO(1960YEAR) AND MISERY(1990) BEST HORRORS!
This weak episode reaction
Fun fact - Ma June is played by the same actress who played the meth addict mum in Breaking Bad, the one who crushed her husband with the ATM
"I ain't no skank!"
Dale Dickey! She’s a fantastic actor
she ain't no skank
@@AL-fl4jk where else would I seen her? I'm sure I have seen her somewhere else beside BB
@karolswieboda1781 if you watched true blood, she was in a few episodes in that! That's always my reference for her
12:42 Spartan you reaction there is exactly the reaction Maximus had as well. That's why he was so late to pull the trigger on the bear, shock and disappointment.
Lucy is the first time player who is going for a good karma run, Maximus is the newbie who ran into statistically high end gear early but doesn't fully know how best to use it player and the ghoul is the veteran quest grinder let's just finish the damn game kind of player
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
I'm convinced Maximus has the idiot savant perk and the Ghoul has the bloody mess perk.
@@kampfer3146I hope Norm gets Nerd Rage
my head cannon is that Maximus has high Endurance and Luck, but low Intelligence and Perception
The farmer with the unfortunate chickens is actually the guy who does Walton Goggins' make-up in the show.
wow, really? so he is a mark-up artist and actor or did he just want to cameo in this production. That's actually really interesting.
love when people have fun facts like this!
The mutant bear that ragdolled Titus was called a Yao Guai, they’re like 10x stronger than normal bears. They could flip tanks if they wanted to so it makes sense it slapped Titus around like that
I was going to comment and say the mutant bears are called Yao Guai, but then I was wondering, why did they change the bears name? Of all the creatures that mutated and changed, the bear seems to have changed the least - they just lost their hair lol. I didn't know Yao Guai were supposed to be that much more powerful though, that's cool.
Yao Guai were named by Chinese prisoners in camps after the Great War, the name comes from the Chinese term for monster or beast@@Xerrand
also, the idea that you could drop a 'Guai with two rounds to the swede from a 10mm pistol is hilarious! not crapping on it, i know it's a bit different in a live show, but i dare anyone to give that a try, any difficulty, any game. not happening.😂
@@davidperkins6752 Yeah its one of those things where in a live adaptation, it would look out of place if top tier enemies acted like their ingame bullet sponges after getting a clean headshot. Most general audiences expect something to die instantly if shot in the head, so I understand why they did it. Especially since a Yao Guai doesn't have armored scales or other obvious defenses.
I just got my head ripped off yesterday in FO4 by a legendary glowing Yao Guai. I have an M1 Garand from a mod and was in the minuteman generals uniform so a reasonably high defense outfit. I thought I had it, It mutated in 2 shots, swiped at me once, took me down to miniscule health, and then instantly put me in a kill animation. They definitely don't mess around.
@davidperkins6752 I think the big melee blows damaged it up and it was supposed to be 2 critical headshots....
I agree tho those yao guai are normally tough as he'll, they shud of perhaps had to put a clip in. not the biggest thing but ye fallout players will notice
The turrets are a joke in the show like the turrets in the game. They never hit the target. The "please remain calm" sign is to keep the target still so the turrets can have a 26% of actually being useful.😂
By far one of the worst tropes is 'machine missing every shot on a moving target' as if such an inaccurate weapon would have ever seen the light of day xD
@@viziontrex It's in the Games. This show is being accurate to the games. You have a problem with this, but Simpaks work for you? 🤣
@@williamgraham9419ok people are taking it way too far with that excuse. Do you think there should be notifications in front of the screen when the protagonist is "overencumbered"?
@@angeloalvarez5520 How is it an excuse it's literally an homage to the turrets in the first few games that are CANONICALLY fucking terrible. How is that the same as having a ''please stay calm'' sign on a security robot? I really don't think you understand fallout
ahahah true
Walton Goggins makes anything he’s in so much better just by doing his thing. Such a great casting for The Ghoul
In game, the "bears" are indeed tough as shit
"A 2 tons mutated bear"... yepp that's summs up right.
@@MolnarG007 2 ton of pure muscle, teeth, and claws. Only worse thing to run into would be death claw which would have literally cut that power armor into ribbons.
@@LiquidusSnakeXOnly thing worse are cazadors in New Vegas and sentry bots in FO4.
@@LiquidusSnakeX it's mutated claws might slash in the armor the true problem is physics, force. For example if we make a car super strong, from titanium and you crash into a pole you die even if the car is unscrached. This is why modern cars, racing cars fold to reduce the force. Armor can stop bullets piercing through but if you are tossed and suddenly stopped (Titus into a boulder) then you gonna be injured (he had head injury) or die.
Or Fallout4 game logic: it will reduce the damage but you still loose hp :)
When I ran into the one near the diner-shop in Fallout 4, my pipe pistole didn't even make a scratch 😌 But he tore me apart within 3 seconds. Good times.
With being the voice for Jinx in Arcane and now this show Ella Purnell is vaulting up my list of favorite actors. Oh and Walton Goggins is a legend.
ha! Vaulting :D
She's good in Yellowjackets as well.
"The guy was effin my chickens" rofl when I was watching this episode and got to that spot I was eating spaghetti. I almost choked over it. I laughed and a few noodles went down my throat. That line almost made me die.... literally. 🤣
chicken noodles? with special sauce right, ? 😂

at 13:50 where Lucy points her Gun at the guy well greeting him. Its a through back to the game, where the player would go around talking to in game characters, friendly or not, and always have your gun out.
I thought it was because she was trying to be careful. But yeah if you don't holster your weapon, it's just sticking right in everyone's face
In those games and skyrim, characters dislike if you have your weapon out while talking to them
12:15 "dude titas is a bitch" Yea well, it is Michael Rapaport so that makes complete sense hahaha
When I first saw it was him I was anything but surprised. Perfect casting.
@@bradkirchhoff5703 so true lol Michael Rapaport is NYC personified
That doesn't make it not stupid that the BoS promoted that guy to Knight.
@@ImJamieX "NYC" is code right?
"I keep putting sand in it and I just get more sand"
"Had a aunt as well she got killed there once"
Love that scene
I also love how the actor playing the sand farm guy wanted to stand like a Fallout NPC (early ones) and it works so well in the scene. I read it in an article and loved the fact that the actor knew Fallout.
For any lost fans, I refuse to believe they didn't introduce Wilsig to Lucy like that with it not being a nod to creepy Ben Linus and how he would just be randomly about and turn up.
I think his overall character is a nod to his role as Harold Finch in Person of Interest
Right lol just ninjaing around the island from youth like “hey others I’m in your camp”
It is 219 years into the future where everyone is used to the suites. Thats why its more surprising to see a vault dweller then a knight. Cause the knights have been around since the dropping of the bombs. And that scene where he drops his gun it was actually shot out of his hand. It was supposed to show how good of a shooter the ghould is. Experience to newbie. And the scene with the ghoul goes to show that experience in the world will get you futher than any armor or gun.
Suites? People are lucky to have a single room in this world.
I just wish they brought in the desert ranger armor. I like that armor better than power armor. Specially the elite riot gear from lonesome road.
That's a good point in a game sense it's a noob that found power armor vs a very high level gunslinger that's survived the wasteland.
Knights of the Brotherhood are indeed badass MFers in the lore, but only the experienced ones.
Maximus specifically in the series never even had a training on how to properly use the armor nor a proper combat training in general.
Cant expect someone without a training to act as Master Chief so, it is represented perfectly accurately.
Expect him to be alot more badass tho in Season 2, but overall Fallout is a dark Comedy, nothing is either too seriours or too comedic. Thats the style of the games and the lore itself.
Honestly his training seemed more like training for a scribe than a knight.
Spartan is interpreting the show correctly. The Brotherhood is full of morons and cowards. That's the Canon of the show now.
I had the same reaction to Knight Titus as Spartan in the bear scene. I was like "WTF?!" and then it was kind of funny. Then they took the helmet off and it's Michael Rapaport saying Michael Rapaport things and I realized we were supposed to laugh. Great twist though.
Power Armor is powerful but don't make you invincible, you can be defeated. Not by a simple enemy, but a 2 tons mutated bear has chance, and he panicked. This is why Maximus decided with his moral compass Titus don't deserve that armor.
Fun fact they made similar armors in real life, the problem is if you got hit, tossed, etc. something bulletproof won't stop you feel the force. This is the reason cars (racecars too) made to fold, to reduce the impact power. Otherwise the car or in this case the power armor might be almost intact but you get smooshed inside.
The writers of the show either don't understand the BoS or didn't bother trying to portray them accurately. Either way, that was the point I knew not to expect lore accuracy from this show.
@@Pink.andahalf there's plenty of people irl that are in positions they absolutely do not deserve. That's life
As bad as Titus was, Maximus is 100x worse. Possibly the worst human being I've seen in the history of TV.
@@Pink.andahalf Oh stfu and get back to your video games lil kid.
Powersuits in this series are real, btw. not CGI
"I'm bored and I wanna shoot something"😂😂MERICA😂
Someone probably already said it but the turret missing him and the dog in the beginning was a nod to how inaccurate the low tier turrets are in Fallout 4.
The Ghoul is my favorite character in this show. Walton Goggins plays this shit amazingly.
The show sold me at the trailer just watching a snippet of the Ghoul. I'm not a huge fan of the games, but I loved watching my husband play them. I just knew I was going to like the show.
The Ghoul was called Cooper in the intro of the first episode ;)
The armor the Brotherhood of Steel uses (and their helicopters too) have existed before 2077, so even pre-nuclear war, so to a lot of people it's just something they've seen a lot. They're also not as badass as they think themselves to be and definitely don't really care that much for saving people in the lore (Maximus is a bit of an exception in that case, despite him being a rookie and naive)
Vault Dwellers are indeed a rarity for people to see, they rarely leave the vault, only ever for a reason like in Fallout 3 (find my dad) or Fallout 4 (find my son)
The Enclave is kind of like the government of old in a way, they take treason very seriously
Those turrets are indeed that inaccurate, it's why they say "Please remain calm" to actually be able to hit their target. It's dumb but funny, it's how it is in the games as well, if you're moving they rarely hit you
I'd like to correct that the Enclave is not "like" the government of the old world, they very literally are the government of old world America (or part of it). The Enclave is the closest thing to a direct continuation of pre-war US government there is... and just as bad as you'd expect, since they have access to high-end weaponry and technology, and no one to keep them in check
Unless you're dealing with the turrets in new Vegas. Those things will steal your lunch money if you aren't careful. Helios was a nightmare
13:01 The actor is Michael Rapaport and he is like this in real life too
Titus met a very deserved end, imo.
lol, when I saw it was Rapaport I about died.
Not a lot channels know who he is.
He’s the worst
Lucy's evolution as a character can be seen in her "Oki Doki"s Every time she say it, the delivery of it gets darker. From wide-eyed and upbeat on her, uhm wedding night ? To apprehensive as she leaves the vault to determined with a hint of disgust as she goes in to get the head. You should really listen for it from now on, it's a marvelous piece of writing and acting just with Oki Doki.
The writers described Lucy as "Ned Flanders from the Simpsons in the apocalypse." So her "okie dokie" is very much inspired by Ned Flanders' "okily dokily". You are right though, I love how much Ella Purnell uses it to reflect the degree to which Lucy is becoming jaded by her experiences in the wasteland.
"we cowpokes take it as it comes"... Lucy's okie dokie is just her version of the ghoul's phrase... u just adapt
Spartan my man the Brotherhood aren't the good guys and Titus is not even the worst one, he's average in terms of morals and being an ass compared to the rest of the Brotherhood.
Love the crazy loud heart beat, when Wilzig injects the item in his head. Indicates the character is near death. Lucy suffered the same when she was stabbed in the vault in ep. 1
The series just gets better and better, can’t wait to see more reactions!
Fallout has a lot of dark humor & it has some intense moments but also doesn't take itself too seriously.
Knight Titus complaining about being sent on an epic quest for a relic that turned out to be a toaster is a knock to one of the fallout games where you literally had to go find a toaster as the objective.
Lucy being nice to the wastelander needing water is a nod to a lot of interactions in many of the Fallout games where the player character can choose to commit acts of kindness that can have no immediate reward other than maybe a quest waypoint. Some games have a Karma system where you can choose to be good or evil overall and a lot of Fallout characters fresh out of the vault or wherever they start act a lot like Lucy. The atmosphere of the game world tells you to look out for yourself, kindness is weakness etc., but if you go against that grain you get rewarded with allies and friends in the long run.
I've always liked Fallout and have played all of them except for the first two. But this show took my fandom to a new level. I am really hyped about the future of the Fallout universe.
I'm the opposite this show makes me worried about future games. The NCR was a huge (for fallout) nation covering all of southern California and parts of Nevada and Mexico. They had a population of 700 000, and a developed society. Power, clean water, industry and trade check they even had a working train system. This show takes place in the heart of NCR territory and somehow all of that vanished in 15 years? Also the enclave was wiped out. Only reminates left by the time of new Vegas and in 15 years they suddenly came back as a major faction? The Shi lived in San Francisco and no mention of them? Yeah I'm worried. I think Bethesda is using this show to reset the level of civilization on the west coast.
For easier reference the ghoul can be called Cooper, we know that was his name from episode 1.
just really love the detail of this show. so much of it just feels like the game. a big one is that scene Lucy stumbles on at the beginning of the episode of the family who took poison. often exploring ruins you'll find skeletons in the games, often scenes of someone's or a groups last moments when the bombs dropped. being Fallout some scenes are actually quite comical such as finding someone on the toilet, or a group robbing a bank as the bombs dropped.
15:32 Bless you
I was wondering if they say that in places besides the United States lol.
@@ladyhotep5189 Ye in Germany we say "Gesundheit." which is like "Health to you."
1:58 There are women in the Brotherhood of Steel. I remember a female Knight in the first Fallout game and also another one in Fallout 3.
The shelters at the home were private shelters, unconnected to the Vaults, which were created by Vault-Tec for somewhat nefarious purposes. You will encounter both types of shelters in the games.
in the fallout universe most players view the brotherhood as bolstering pushovers. they arent by any means good people.
With the exception of Fallout 3
"It was the most humane product that Vault-Tec ever made." The sad part is, that's probably literally true.
Whenever she says Ookie Dookie, I hear a hint of Arcane Jinx there. Shes damn talented
The "scientist" at the beginning of the episode is "the target" who "escaped/deserted" from The Enclave. The Enclave were supposed to have been the last remnants of the original U.S. government after "the great war". They had a lot of scientists and believed they were the ONLY humans that deserved to survive. Yes, they also had Pipboys on their arms.
In the games it takes A LOT more bullets to actually bring down a Yau Guai (an irradiated/mutated bear).
Which is weird because less than 15 years earlier the enclave was pretty much wiped out on the east and west coast. So where did they pop out from.
@@markcarpenter6020 Maybe this "Enclave" is an offshoot of the others.
@@rromano158 where did it come from. The enclave on the west coast was destroyed back in fallout 2. And east coast was destroyed in 3. So when did that offshoot happen?
one of my favortie pars of the series are the looks and smirks maximus gives inside the armor
I looove when Pudgey goes "O.O Oh shiiiit!"

The MK1 turrets are meant to be ass
If you like The Ghoul as a character you must watch The Hateful Eight, the same actor acts in that movie an is also phenomenal!
and the series Vice Principals! SO FUNNY!
You guys should watch a movie called "Annihiliation"
24:33. Wilzig: NO GET THAT SHREDDER AWAY FROM MY LEG! Ma June: TOUGH LUCK THATS ALL I GOT!
There is a lot in the show that seemingly is written as if you were actually playing a game (stats and perks, skills checks, easter eggs for the games, etc) -- it doesn't translate very well to a show unless you get the nods to the game. There is some issues with the writing of the show (you know it when you see it) but overall, it has a very Fallout feel to it which makes it enjoyable.
So much fun! Loving your reactions and commentary. Anxious for more! Cheers!
Never played any Fallout game but loving the show. Remember, Maximus isn't a knight. He's just in a knight's suit and doesn't know how to use it 100% yet.
Regarding the Brotherhood of Steel... first, there are women in the Brotherhood too... this story is in 2296.... Fallout 3 is in 2277 (19 years prior) and the split off branch in the Washington DC area had at LEAST 2 woman Knights (one of them can even be a companion).
Second, they are much less like the Spartans, and way more like any other group of zealots with a questionable mission statement. Its only a matter of time before they pass around the Koolaid.
"that poor squirrel" ....... 🤣🤣🤣
It’s not the ghoul’s bullet that make a difference… it’s his Bloody Mess perk
"No, why?" "What for?" (After the ghoul stabbed the dog)
He was defending himself. Would you just let a dog bite you, getting yourself teared apart if you were attacked? I mean I get the dogs motivation; protecting their owner, the person they are loyal too. But I get the ghouls motivation too in eliminating a threat to him.
YES... it is 3am and and I needed something to do. Great stuff
Glad you guys are watching the series every episode gets better and better you’re going to love the series. YOU will be hooked fair warning
Lucy brings a new meaning to the word naive . . .

I was wondering if they could do a Fallout spinoff set in Australia. The animals would be terrifying. Monster spiders, dinosaur sized crocs, carnivore kangaroos, and irradiated Tasmanian devils.
Yeah, and they could even do one were we meet the animals after the bombs dropped!
The maker of the games has said he wants to keep the game set in the US. I think it would be hilarious if the US was the only country that was wrecked by the nuclear war and the rest of them are living in a peaceful futuristic utopia.
While I seriously want them to do one in Texas, Australia would be scary af.
Is that different than Non-Fallout Australia?

I'm pretty sure that Lucy and Maximus are playing a new game. The Ghoul is playing a DLC.
"Brotherhood of Steel" is correct. Dane is a young woman pretending to be a man to be able to join. That airship from first episode is the Prydwen from Fallout 4 (game)
"He disgraced the suit." Spartan has the same problem the Brotherhood I do. IF they lived up to who they say they are / are supposed to be, I'd be all about the Brotherhood of Steel.

LOVE YOU GUYS..BEING A FALLOUT NERD..I THINK YOU GUYS WILL LOVE THE SHOW..MUCH LOVE GOD BLESS..
Walter Goggins plays Venus in Sons of Anarchy and that is where I fell in love with him 😍❤️😊
This show is unhinged in all the best ways
for Pudgey, The Brotherhood of Steel isn't just men, a lot of prominent members were women.
for Spartan ,And i haven't seen the show so I'm not spoiling, but the suits are because they're going up against all types of desperate humans, mutants, mutated animals and insects, robots and extreme elements (including nuclear fallout)
The turret in the beginning is famous for not being able to hit moving targets in the games. Its the mx1. The mx 2-5 will mess you up but the mk1 is a joke. Ppl put them in their settlements are enemies just run right by them.
As far as the doc and the dog not getting hit by the bullets at the beginning, it may have been luck. Lol. It may have been a shout out to Luck which is one of the 10 character attributes in the game.
22:16 Spartan is a Doja Cat fan, confirmed!
Voldemort vs Ghoul sniffing contest? 👀💀
This gives me Westworld vibes
If you haven't already, make sure you watch the episode all the way until it's just text on a solid background.
In Maximus' defense, to be fair he did kind of need to wait for the bear to stop moving around in order to obtain a clean head shot. You don't want to miss or shoot a non-lethal round into an already angry rad bear without power armor on. Titus could have boxed that thing's head into paste if he wasn't such a bee-hotch, lol.
Yao Guai (or "demons") are mutated bears with the energy and motivation of cocaine bears.
Yao Guai are in constant pain due to the great number of cancerous tumors that riddle their bodies (among other painful mutations). In my Fallout gaming experience, they are always in a bad mood.
Okie Dokie!
The turret is a Mark 1 automated machinegun turret. Their auto target aquisition is basic and inaccurate. If you are building a defense for your settlement you would want the Mark 7 turrets. They are much more accurate and use explosive 5.56mm rounds that do high amounts damage. Also, in Fallout 4 there are 10 variations of the Yao Guai. Stunted Yao Guai, Young Yao Guai, Pack Yao Guai, Yao Guai ghoul, Shaggy Yao Guai, Irradiated Yao Guai, Glowing Yao Guai, Albino Yao Guai, Rabid Yao Guai, Dusky Yao Guai and the normal Yao guai.
One of the best things about the show vs the games is seeing how the main character adapts to the wasteland life.
In 3 & 4, you play as someone from a vault, but you more or less enter the post-apocalypse and just get on with things. Having an actual character in Lucy means they can show how out of place they really are due to their upbringing.
