In my opinion this version is better than the original one, also the birds at the start of the song would of been nice to add in the original as well :)
Kewl ,, nice to hear my mix of this old classic,, shows you do not need the most expensive studio in the world to create a hit record ,, thought he was a fat black mamma untill he turned up at the studio ,, was surprised to say the least to hear that voice coming out of suck a little geezer :) knew it was a gonna be a hit ,, think his Mum wrote the words :)
I'm seriously wondering who the guitarist in this demo version was. Gavin Dodds played on the album version, but for some reason, it sounds like Simon Bartholomew here... yeah, maybe it's him. After all, he DID help out on EOPE afterwards, and since his BNH bandmate plays bass here..... Ok, now that I think about it, this sounds completely like a BNH track :P (even Nick Van Gelder sounds like Jan Kincaid here xD).
Wow, nice peice of history here. So this was the demo, what happened after that? Who tidies it up, masters it etc. ? It's more like brand new heavies than the distinct jamiroquai sound they came to be.
@danbo1984 Have you heard the other version from this first release? Its PURE Johnny Hammond - JK doesn't even try to disguise it - the piano line fom conquistadors goes on and on.......... JK learned from the BEST my friend - check out the "Back to Mine"
Alright ,,, was could heaven ever be like this when you gonna learn,, is johnny hammods, conquistador chcholates its well known JK got his record deal after stealing a loop from the brand new heavies,,
this is so sick... finding these hidden jamiro tracks keeps me alive
@Incog
The guitarist is Nick Tydeman -original bass player in the acid jazz era line up
Before my time..it IS Jan!!
In my opinion this version is better than the original one, also the birds at the start of the song would of been nice to add in the original as well :)
kinda is the original one. but i agree this one is better than the final release
yobaseen21 Yes! Si!
Yeah i think so too
Same here
The falsetto at the end is amazing
The best Jamiroquai Era. No doubt.
Great tune!
As a fan of both Jamiroquai and the Brand New Heavies, it's nice to hear a BNH sample in this song
which is?
@@tiendasyapacatabaja2348 BNH by the Brand New Heavies
Listening to it for the first time 2020. Digging the funk.
thank god someone posted this.....i had this on my harddrive from napster in 99 and the harddrive crashed......thanks for posting.
Wow, they did so much with so little back then... This is a truly great find.
Excellent arrangement, chorus is really the high point of this song. Seventies feeling at its best.
Jamiroquai. One of the best bands (for me the best of course :D) of the 90's.
Oh my gosh thank you for posting that gem. I'm digging it so much🥰🥰
Para mí esta versión original demo está mejor estructurada que la versión original comercial. Magnifica. 😃👍🏻
Thank you❤
What a Golden Voice Mr Kay have with the Top Band❤ Mr Kay is a real SoulMen, sound a bit like Mr Gill Scott Heron..
This is so insane🙏🏽🫶🏽
Love this version! Thank you for sharing!
Still listening in 2020. Nothing better than 90s music!
I love jamiroquai :)
best track of jamiroquai imo.
This is where it all started. If it weren't for this track, jamiroquai wouldn't be here today :)

And they borrowed the chorus chord progression from Johnny "Hammond" Smith's "Los Conquistadores Chocolates". :)
@@danielasbjrnsson7500 Holy shit no wonder i love those songs
I actually like this better than the version that was released!

Awersome
Great story bro.
Wow, nice peice of history here. So this was the demo, what happened after that? Who tidies it up, masters it etc. ?
It's more like brand new heavies than the distinct jamiroquai sound they came to be.
This version is much more laid back, almost reminds me of a stone roses track
Here's to the next 20 years of Jamiroquai :D
o yeah jamiroquai ! Great Version ;D
the same voice of Rasa's singer on the title "chanting"!!!
Nice
this track can be a remix in a future jamiroquai album
I wish theyd just cram all their demo tapes into an album fos us to listen to
Very radical changes.
@lukersweb you are welcome ^_^
the bass reminds me of the sonic cd jp/pal soundtrack
Oh my gosh I was thinking this too! Reminds me of a past version track
I think this the original version had the demo before this tune came out.
found a spliffs worth in zee meatgrinder.....
result!
If i'm not wrong it's on the single version...
Always been the better version
@danbo1984 Have you heard the other version from this first release? Its PURE Johnny Hammond - JK doesn't even try to disguise it - the piano line fom conquistadors goes on and on.......... JK learned from the BEST my friend - check out the "Back to Mine"
jolstano I'm so glad you pointed this out. I love this song, but it is a cheeky rip off and johnny Hammond should have been credited for it.
Me too *.*
Where can i get this track??
i like this version better ...
Which track from them?
Where can I get a download of this?
Any youtube to mp3 converter
ronskfc Emule
This honestly suits a GTA game
San andreas, just as the sun comes over the horizon.
Verison original de por si es mejor
i often slate JK for stealing bass lines ,,
neverthe less ,, what a mix ,,
what makes you think its 89? the album was released in 93
i prefer this to the single which was released.
what bass lines has he stolen?
Alright ,,, was could heaven ever be like this
when you gonna learn,, is johnny hammods, conquistador chcholates
its well known JK got his record deal after stealing a loop from the brand new heavies,,
