Great review. I am not a gamer but am looking for a 55 inch TV to watch sports with. I will take another look at my local Best Buy store. Your did a terrific job on this. Many reviews don't mention sports but you did. I appreciate that.
Great review! I’ve been considering buying this TV. When you do your gaming review for this TV, you should definitely test it for the inverse ghosting issue that many people have reported. That’s actually the only thing holding up my purchase.
@@cl587 That’s awesome that you don’t have that issue, it’s a great TV aside from that one issue. I ended up getting a LG C1 for my main gaming TV and I couldn’t be happier with it.
@@cl587 yup same for me. I just purchased the 55 last week and I don't have that issue with my Xbox series x. Beautiful tv and extremely happy with my purchase.
Thanks so much! The controller holder actually came with a desk I ordered off of Amazon. Crazily enough, the company doesn't sell the stand by itself :(
How does this compare to the TCL R635? We want another tv for our spare room, and we are trying to decide between this and the upcoming Sony X80K that releases next week. Both are around $800.00.
IT DEFINITELY HAS AIR PLAY! I own the U8G 55 and my bro is a photographer. He came thru with his IPad to show me his new pics and he mirrored his IPhone all via Airplay on the TV. I didn't realize it had Airplay until he looked for it.
Great content I subscribed to your channel not to long ago I might go with this TVs for living room 65inch. I already have lg c1 and tcl r635 for both bedrooms and now looking for 65inch and up. I would like a 75inch but in a budget for 1600 and I’m not sure if any tv beats this tv for the price. I was maybe looking into u6g but I’m not sure. My gaming is on lg c1 so I’m looking for living room tv for watching movies and shows. I’m still deciding but great review.
@@TheReviewGuideChannel keep up the good work and quick question are you going to check out the hisense u6g? Or u7g? Just in case I get a bigger size then 65inch because unfortunately as good as this tv is it sucks it only comes in 55,65 inch.

And anyway at these prices it’s not a big deal to move it to a bedroom later on and see if next year’s OLED prices come down. Haha.
Just for Aussie viewers, be aware our U8G is NOT this TV. I almost pulled the trigger on the purchase based on all the good reviews, then realised this isn't the same TV as in the US. Completely different :(.
@@irishgotee keeping it real I think even at the 49 or 50 inch size you are getting terrible value. The Sony X90J is $1,100. 48 inch LG C1 is $1,400. Now compare that to the U8G 55 inch you could get for $900. I would rank the U8G above the Sony X90J. I would also rank it above the LG C1, but that is far more debatable. None the less the U8G is without a doubt a better value being $500 cheaper and 7 inches larger.
@@kylelerner7498 there is a fix. So basically what’s going on is that you get the ghosting when playing a 60fps game while the console is plugged into the HDMI 2.1 which is @ 120hz. So in order to fix it you have to use the HDMI 2.0 port when playing a 60fps. Outside of that fix, they are aware of the issue which is a software problem and they are currently working on a fix for it.
Yes, I too would like to know if per your review, that you experienced any ghosting issues relative to the use of the HDMI 2.1 ports.
