That match was almost 3.5 hours long, and mind you she had been practicing and working out that day earlier as well. I can barely workout for 30 minutes and I’m 20! Venus is a tremendous champion.

I love the team that Venus has surrounded herself with. Their energy is so positive. I love the way they all celebrated with Venus. She was amazing. I wanted her to win the tournament so badly but this was such a good outcome. I'm so proud of her and can't wait to see her next match.
I cannot express loud enough how super excited I am for you!!! I am a 57 year old gal who just took up tennis one year ago this week and absolutely fell in love with it! I'm working hard and advancing better than I ever thought I could. It has made me understand how much we undervalue people over a certain age. We still have A LOT of life, energy and talent to offer! who else love Isabel's work ethic & her reaction to Venus winning?!? I think they're the perfect pairing. Isabel is so professional & attentive (seems a bit of an introvert), so I was shocked to see her reaction after the victory, it brought out a smile in me. The whole team embrace makes me wanna cry. You guys have worked so hard. & Queen Venus with the word "unbelievable" in the description... VENUS, where there's a Williams, there's a way! Anything is possible. I love you Venus, you're the last female legend left in the game imo, & it's an absolute honor for me to still be able to watch you play tennis. Keep going as long as you want to.
I used to be a Lindsay Davenport Die Hard fan Once Upon a Time, so I didn't always necessarily like their match results, but now I am 100% team Venus. I am so impressed that she's still playing.
Lol, I remember Davenport. Great groundstrokes (consistent depth), but Venus overcame her in their biggest matches. 😂🎉
@@EaglesPMA true..... although Davenport came out ahead in the semi-final for her 1998 US Open title. Overall, in the end, they had a pretty tight, even head-to-head. It was a good rivalry for sure.

Love, love Venus - I've followed her and Serena for the past 30 years. I first saw them both with their dad on the news when they were practicing in Compton. Those girls were just so cute and so determined. It has been a joy to see both women's accomplishments and just how wonderful they turned out. GO VEE! 💜💜

I/We (my late mother, my brother and me) followed your journeys from the moment you took your first step at Wimbledon. Although we never stole the opportunity to visit the WTClub. Nevertheless, our noisy celebrations were better away from the madling crowds. 🤣
Both you and your sister gifted us with an enomous amount of special moments - and I can assure you, we assisted by hitting every shot you'll played. I can recall the special joy we had, that overspilled for weeks seeing you'll picking up trophies year on year, with our eyes glued to the television. A heartfelt thank you, to both you and Serena for allowing us to share (and participate in) your treasured moment. Do not get me wrong, it was always your skills, your talent, your brilliance and your achievements. We just went through the motion from our setee 🤭 🙏

You played very well. Your intrincts and shot making are incredible. That backhand slice dropshot at the end of set 1 was sublime. Keeping my fingers crossed for your first round match on Monday against Svitolina. Very tough R1 match but I think you've got this.

- if that isn’t encouraging after such a long time out with injury and so soon into her comeback then I don’t know what is. As a fan since 2003 when I first saw Venus at Wimbledon, I just cherish every single match and moment she plays. I never want it to end.

My favorite thing about Venus’ tennis is her stroke evolution over the years. So inspiring to see her technique just smoothing out over the years. 1999 Venus could reach and blast any ball, but 2023 Venus is a technician Queen!!
