@@Michelle-by9fpI either go with a coffee shop, where $5 or $10 is reasonable… or if it’s for a restaurant, you could do $15-$20 as a help with a meal out, not necessarily to pay for the entire meal. Also, you could add a like-new tree ornament (that you declutter) along with a small gift card… or pair the gift card with something you bake at Christmas time, a mini loaf of friendship bread, or a few cookie bars or brownies.. just brainstorming ❤
This year, instead of presents, we decided to hire a professional organizer to help us get rid of things and start the new year off on the right foot. We've even limited our budget for other people in order to prioritize our household for 1 year and pay for this. I've even asked my family if they wanted to forgo gifts for me and my husband and help to pay for our endeavor. It's a start.
My mom loves puzzles so I did an advent calendar for her where my family put together a 1,000 piece puzzle, then we divided it into 25 sections and put the pieces into little bags with numbered tags. Every day she puts together a section and adds it to the larger puzzle. She’s really enjoying it. I had seen one advertised but it was too expensive, so I diy’d it.
Hubby and I have decided to have no presents this year. We are minimalists and really dont need anything. Our kids are grown up and spending it with their partners families. I've done years of hosting, cooking and present buying. This year is going to be amazing, pj's all day and a TV dinner, no Christmas shopping stress. I might even stay in bed all day watching you tube. Total bliss.😊
We did this last year for the first time. I did 25 years of having everyone from both families for breakfast. 24 people. Then had single relatives for Christmas dinner too. My circumstances changed and last year me and my two adult children decided to have Italian and stay in pjs all day! It’s was sooooo goood! 😂. Doing the same again this year!😊
I budgeted and saved all year for Christmas gifts this year, but after many years of my husband trying to get me to do no gifts…I am finally giving in this Christmas. I was in tears at first, especially because I saved all year, but now I am seeing more freedom and joy in the Christmas season. We spoke to our children who are 18-23 and to our surprise were completely on board with this decision. One said, heck yeah I am down with that, and another said this is actually a gift in itself and decided to tell her in-laws that they are also choosing to do no gifts this year and the in-laws are following suit. That one surprised me. 😊 Our parents also respected our choice this year without any complaints. I am thinking we may have started a whole new tradition deeper and wider than we ever imagined.
We can't really afford to give gifts, so I make cookies for family instead. They love them and I love baking and gift giving so it's a win-win! Now that we have our daughter, I make a small craft as well. Last year was her footprint on an ornament for her first Christmas. This year I'm doing handprint snowmen!
Consumables are very good gifts that people don’t have to store. Think of their favorite chocolate, coffee, tea, gift cards to a specialty ice cream, lunch place or even grocery stores. These gifts are especially good for seniors.
Consumable gifts are my favorite because they're super easy to put away and after a few weeks everything is back to normal without trying to stuff a bunch of new things into places that don't have room for them (looking at you, toybox 😂)
That is what I always did for my mother. She also loved getting birdseed for her bird feeders as well as the fancy edible bird wreaths, bells, etc. (made of birdseed). She would hang them on her deck and watch the birds while enjoying her morning coffee.
I am a cricket, but this year has been super simple because of life events. The funny thing that I wanted to share is that I carefully wrap several paper crafts that my kids made at very young ages. Think paper plates, traced hand prints on poster board with glitter, and macaroni noodles. It has been the utter horror of my kids when they see them on my tree. To explain their extreme disdain for these adorable treasures of mine, my kids are adults, ages 30 & 34! Lol. I love them and hope to have them on my tree as long as I live. ❤
I've started giving people homemade canned jams for Christmas. It's affordable, consumable, and a surprise because no one expects a millennial to know how to can, haha. For our gifts, my husband and I asked loved ones for specific gift cards to help pay for date nights and babysitters. We already have everything we want and need, but offsetting the cost of a regular night out during the toddler trench years is truly what we want. People actually seemed happy that we took all the guesswork out for them.
Oh my gosh!!!!! As a homesteader this made me cry. Has that family died yet? probably not. How horrible for you to trash their endless labors and talent!!!!!!! Just awful. And honey is anti Microorganism. It literally cannot carry bacteria, virus of anything living!!! It will last a lifetime. How sad you throw this away, as it is probably the best gift you get.
When our two boys were littles, we limited their Christmas gifts to three a piece.🌲 Something they needed, something they wanted, and something small. I explained to them that the wise man gave the baby Jesus three gifts and that's why they were receiving three gifts.🎁 We also supported a Haitian child, so the boys got to pick out something special for him and we always did the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoe Box. They really enjoyed shopping for others. To celebrate the baby Jesus' birth, we usually made a small birthday cake for him.🎂 They are grown men now with families of their own and they still think about others before themselves. Blessings everyone!💗
When you showed the children's cookbook, it reminded me that I have a Betty Crocker cookbook for children from my childhood (I'm 66!) and still use it.
We have a tradition with our family that lives on the other side of our country (Canada) We send a box of little things that are locally made or bought for them to open at the beginning of December. Things you would get at craft markets or local vendors etc. It is really fun to see what is in the box and the kids love the surprise better than another toy or trading money.
I love getting gift cards. My little kids love getting gift cards. We would go out less if it weren’t for our aunties who give gift cards! Thank you for our GIFT CARDS! 💓🙌🏻
I shifted to experiences as a gift. Concert or sports or dinner out or whale watching or rafting or paint night or... anything builds relationships and less clutter!
Remember to check your local small businesses. A lot of them will have these gifts as well. Many have websites you can order through, for shipping or local pickup. Most bookstores can order any book you want within 1-2 weeks. If you're shopping for someone who lives far away, consider ordering from a store near them to save on shipping.
My parents love going to the movies so I've gotten them AMC gift cards for several years now and they love it! Practical, consumable and I know it won't be wasted :)
Years ago i made my own gift bags using Christmas fabric from the fabric store. I sewed a long ribbon to the back to tie into a bow. We have used these for YEARS. I rarely buy Christmas wrap anymore. There are so many beautiful and fun designs and patterns to choose from. They store flat in my Christmas boxes and help pad my decor. Plus they make a great gift.
Loved all these ideas. I can't name this item exactly, but my husband was blown away (with surprise, and later how much he used it) with this extender slender tool that has a magnet and light on the end of it. You just extend it and slide it in hard to reach places if you've dropped a nail or something. (Sorry I'm not describing it well.) But it was one time I came through on the guy gift list. LOL
Last year for my husband (who is a huge car guy) I found photos of all his previous vehicles, or as many as I could and ordered him a custom car calendar. He loved it! I also have got him a bidet attachment for the toilet and we both enjoy it haha
One year for my birthday (in December) I received the most wonderful gift that keeps on giving -- a son-in-law! He proposed to my daughter on my birthday. I won't forget that day!
We made the decision and started simplifying Christmas gifts/giving years ago... won't go into all the details of what we do and not do... but I can tell you, it is very very minimal and simple...we are at that point now, in our lives, where it works... it is so lovely and freeing, no expectations, no wasted money, no guilt... Make the decision and STOP...just do it. Period. If you don't stop it now,...you will be still commenting on this channel 5 years from now!
I’m all for Minimalist gift giving💕 I am also trying to be intentional about where I purchase gifts, for example if I can find toys on the Marketplace that are gently used why not help out a person? Also local artisans that are selling handmade goods, ex. pottery, soaps, wooden items such as Cutting boards, crocheted items. Yes, they may cost a little more but most of the time the quality is much better and you are helping out a neighbor. I appreciate Dawns support of Trades of Hope as well. We can make such a difference if we really think through our purchases. Love you all!❤
I exchange gifts with my sister and we both have wish lists on Amazon so when I select a gift from her list for her it's something she has selected and wants. This has made our gift exchange so easy.
A few years ago we stopped with lots of gifts for our kids. Instead they get their stocking, a few small gifts and the ‘big item’ is a family vacation we take in January or February. So there’s delayed gratification and less ‘stuff’ coming into our house.
For several years now we have given our adult son cash for his fishing license and conservation stamp. The fun part is presenting it differently each year. Our son-in-law also enjoys getting cash that he can use for hobbies and personal projects. Again presentation makes it fresh every year. Consider crisp bills as book marks in an appropriate book, or a money machine with bills taped end to end to pull through a slot in a box. 💜🐞
For ideas for men, these are things my husband has loved... ammo (or money / gift cards for ammo); music supplies i.e. guitar strings, amp, speaker components; premium tea and coffee; leather wallet; key organizer; gift certificates or passes for fun things like the shooting range; hunting gear i.e. camo; hiking boots; and cozy things like nice slippers or sweats for around the house
My husband always enjoys getting gifts of the “expensive” shop rags and hand cleaner. For him that means Scott’s rags in a box and Fast Orange hand cleaner 😊
That kids cookbook was a HUGE hit at our house. Our kids have read it at least once a week for over a year! And the recipes they've made have been delicious. (My kids turned 9 in April.)
I've honestly been thinking hard the last few years about how excessive Christmas has become in our society. I'm with you Dawn. I'd be happy with a completely no gift Christmas. As it stands - my husband and I don't buy for each other and my kids are only getting a few gifts. Hope everyone has a happy and joyful holiday season 🎄❤️
Agreed. If we didn’t have kids, we’d probably skip gifts altogether. 😂 As it is, I’m only getting my husband one thing this year-a daily dad joke calendar he can put on his desk at work. i know that terrorizing his co-workers with terrible puns will bring him joy every day. 🤭
The way you sectioned everything out in the description box is amazing and thoughtful. Thank you for your ideas and faith based items as well. New sub!!❤
Your gift guides are the best. I’m getting my 9 year old musical/performer son the mini karaoke set. I might regret it by the end of the night on Christmas Day, but he will love it 😂
My parents bought 3 small gifts for me, and for my sister, to open on Christmas Eve...they 'represented' the 3 Wise Men. We opened them while my dad read the Infancy Narratives to us. On Christmas morning, "Jesus' friend, Santa" left 1 larger gift for us. Together, as a family, we offered special prayers for our military, our civil servants, and finally for our family & neighborhood. I truly have THE BEST Christmas memories! I'm now old...and have the joy of watching our sons continue these traditions. ♡
@@JustOneDressYour comments on here have been nothing but awful and unnecessary. However everyone is entitled to their opinion but if I was Dawn I would block you.
Your gift guides are ALWAYS!!!! my favorite! Such practical gifts that are affordable! Everything I've purchased that you've recommended have been a hit! Always appreciate the teen/tween suggestions too and my kiddos are close in age to yours!
Great ideas!!! That tea is amazing!! My family loves that stuff! You can also wrap gifts in a reusable shopping bag. They are usually cheap, pretty and can be reused by the recipient.
Great suggestions. Cash and gift cards are my go-to these days. All my children are adults, and all the grandchildren are teens. I stopped using wrapping paper years ago. If I need wrapping for something, I only use gift bags. I only have neutral bags so they can be used on matter the occasion.
Our family is trying to achieve minimalism but something we won’t budge is our yearly road trip so what we have been doing is everyone comes up with a place and pitch their idea of why that place. When we decide we brainstorm if we’ll Airbnb or camp restaurants pit stops. We have a blast and we get a kick out throughout the day
My husband is getting me a new cookware set, I know some folks may eye roll, but I’m a stay at home, homeschooling, loves to cook momma who has a really flaky old set….so I picked it out and sent it to him. Our 6yr old son always makes him go shopping for me and I get coffee and yarn from him lol.
Love the list of items - especially for tweens. Regarding the kids camera, I decided not to give that one because of the Instant Print feature. The paper gets really costly to purchase after you have run through the sample amount they give you. Regarding men gifts, I will be giving a magnetic wristband for screws etc to my son, as he has started to do a lot of DIY around the home, and this ensures that he doesn't loose something or something falls onto the floor that he can't see, but the baby can - safety!
Thanks for the ideas! I was sitting outside of my daughter's preschool last week and one of her friends had a toddler-friendly digital camera. All the kids were super excited about it, taking turns posing and taking pictures with each other. I found them on Amazon for $30 and ordered six for all of the little kids I'm buying for this year. We're a big board game family so I think I'll be picking up Sequence for Kids for our 3 1/2 year old as well.
Dawn, you are simply the best! 🥰 I love your cheerful countenance and attitude as well as the joy you share with us! Your hair looks extra darling, too! You make a big difference, so always remember that! 🎁 I really enjoyed this video about gifts and got some wonderfully neat ideas for different people in my life, for Christmas and birthdays, etc. Thank you so much for doing the legwork to share these recommendations with all of us! 📯 Blessings and love to you and your sweet family, Diana’s too, and your dear parents! Happy Thanksgiving and Christmas season, sharing the love of Jesus, who is indeed our ultimately greatest gift! I love you!! 🌟❤️🎄
Hey Dawn! I love your suggestions! I’m the world’s worst shopper, so I especially appreciate your reviews! You actually inspired me to make some gifts especially for minimalists. I’m new at Etsy, and I hesitate to put my Etsy shop link here, but if you are curious about the items that were “Minimal Mom” inspired, let me know! You are amazing and a blessing!
Thank you for sharing! This is the third year my husband gets his Christmas present from your list! We never know what to get him, so my girls and I look forward to your videos for ideas. Last year was the carhart gear. This year we are Goin with the Milwaukee jacket. ☺️ Thank you from a house full of girls!💖
That coffee cup is so cute. It could be used for a few things and make your kitchen look cute. I would use it to store coffee grounds or maybe as sugar or creamer container.
Last year we did a cruise after Christmas as our presents and it was amazing. Our kids get plenty things from family so they certainly didn’t miss out on opening gifts and lots gave them money to use on our trip which really made the influx in stuff manageable
Got some great ideas from you today - thanks! Also, I use a Dollar Store magazine rack/notebook holder for my water bottles - they take up less space when stored vertically. And the gift bags - game changer! I work for a Christmas Families nonprofit and these will make gift wrapping go so much quicker for all the donated gifts we receive for those in need each year.
Bonus: those tea tins make cute vessels for faux or dry flower arrangements 👍🏻 I’ve bought the tea just for the pretty tins, although the tea is good too.
For men: some of my most successful: if he is a reader, one of my favorites is an Ex Libris of “from the library of” set of stickers or custom stamp for his books. Also a book weight that keeps the pages open and the book laying flat on a desk. A vintage map of a meaningful place. True Classic tshirts. Some colorful shoelaces to jazz up his shoes. X3 bar travel workout system.
The warm stuffed animals are great for adults too. I have a hippo for myself. Its super nuce for period cramps and even headacheches. Heat packs are super useful and having them in a fun shape makes them better
I loved this video and its suggestions. Thanks Dawn. I really appreciate you putting your own non-gift approach to life on hold to let us have your thoughts. 🎉 🎁
For folks considering gift cards, I just read that in the US alone, there are $21 BILLION (BILLION) in unspent gift cards. I now give cash in a handwritten card "Gift Cash to be spent at XX" or "Gift Cash no expiry, no limits."
We should all dig through drawers and wallets and purses and spend old gift cards on this year's gifts for others, just to get those cards spent. Or I bet there's a charity that takes cards with small values. Ok Google.
I don't know if this is no longer allowed, but in the U.S. at least, some companies used to deduct annual fees for non-usage of a gift card. Over time, the whole thing could be frittered away if forgotten about or if someone was waiting to use it!!
My son has that helicopter. He is 12 now and its a toy he said he will never get rid of. He also has the rocket. They both have been with us for 8 years. Highly recommend them as well!
Even though you kinda of grumble about gift-giving; you always have one of the best gift guides. I love how you know your sister Diana so well and get her the perfect gift each year.❤😊 As for the guys; yes, they are so difficult to buy for. Some ideas would be to get them things that go along with their interests. For instance; if the are golfers, you could get them, golf balls, a golf kit, a new glove, tees, putting practice greens, etc. If they are into hiking: hiking boots, socks, backpack, a compass, hand crank radio/flashlight, etc. If the are into fishing: a new reel or pole, a basket for their catch or cooler or some outdoor cookware. I think you get the idea 😂 And last, but, not least- gift cards to their favorite restaurant, hobby place, golf range, etc.
I agree with you that the green toys are the best. I am a grandmother and we use them as pool toys. They winter in the garage and are over 10 years old. The kids love them too!
I love your gift guides videos!! I have become much more thoughtful in how much and what I buy for folks and my family has cut way back on Christmas gifting, which is so nice! My sweet MIL's love language is gifts. She loves to give and get them. I've tried for 21 years to get her to cut back and gift experiences or way fewer gifts, to no avail. I've figured out I have to be very specific with items I'd like to have as well as things I'd like for her to get my kids. It's been difficult, because some years I just don't have anything I want or need. Your gift guides always help me come up with a couple things to ask for as well as things I think she'd find useful! LOVE your channel!!
Our family decided our gift to the adult kids (me and my siblings) is our summer family trip and we just do stocking stuffers. The little kids get a couple of bigger ticket gifts and experience based gifts.
I gifted myself a Tineco wet/dry floor cleaner because mopping 😩. Gifts can be a huge stressor. We have no small children so we use our gift monies to treat ourselves & adult children to nice restaurants & events. That's been working well for us for a few years.
My favorite gift idea... High quality kitchen knife! My husband and I have started giving ourselves one each Christmas to replace old knives that can't hold an edge.
I love giving my kids gifts they can use everyday. Last year, I got my artsy kids some higher quality craft supplies, and this year, I got them each a book (since they’re both readers too) and a book sleeve to protect their books in their backpacks. 📚
I have some regrets about my big declutter of Christmas last year but my house does look festive and I know I will like it when I put things away after Christmas. ❄️⛄️🎄🕊️
I would be totally fine with it. Camping and experiencing adventures together with our grown children and grandchildren throughout the year would be plenty! 😊 I had a hard time thinking of ideas on my list for our family Giftster list for the others to shop from for me. I did finally think of inexpensive items. But, I really want to downsize my hobby supplies. I told my husband that I'd like to consider no gifts between us, since we just added a new puppy to our household this past summer, (and a new to us pop up camper a few years ago!) I did lower my budget for everyone, and left more in savings. My Hubby will be getting a new shirt and a gift card for his Christmas Eve eve birthday, though. 😏
Great video. For a few years us 3 sisters all agreed to an online Goldster health subscription (tai chi, yoga, boxercise, HIIT, art, etc) which we were all doing anyway as it is good value. It made it so much more affordable, meaningful, simple and connected us).
My husband and I buy for our son but keep things really simple for each other because we just don't need anything. Some years we just fill each others stockings with consumable products (treats, toiletries, etc.) and that's it, while other years we will do maybe one or two gifts each. Sometimes I will just buy my own gift and wrap it and put it under the tree lol. For example, my husband needed slippers last year so I bought myself a pair as well. This year I bought him a few much needed shirts and that's it. I keep asking him what he wants but he just says he doesn't need anything or he will treat himself to a new book. We will do Christmas with extended family earlier in the month but it will be just the three of us for Christmas. We will enjoy watching our son open gifts, eat good food and just enjoy spending time together.
Harney and Sons, which makes the tea you chose, has a lovely selection of gifts. Shipping is free, and right now they offer 20% off on purchases over $30. I stop by their tea shop when I drive to the next state to visit family. I am a serious tea drinker and love the variety of choices they have.
One thing I've learned: there is no perfect gift for everyone. One friend's daughter (a teacher) ended up with over $100 in Starbucks gift cards, and she does not go there. That being said, I often make "soup in a jar" mixes for several women friends. I feel like I help them get a healthy meal on their table for their families.
My kids school always had teacher wishlists which were so nice to have when it came to birthdays and Christmas. That way teachers who hate Starbucks wouldn't get a $100 in Starbucks cards!
I'm surprised you didn't touch more on consumables, a nice bottle of liquor someone's favorite snack. Make up skip care. Candles the stuff that it doesn't stay in the home for too long
I took my owala water bottle to Disney --- it was the best thing I purchased for my trip. Easily went into my sling backpack and does not leak. You can tip the bottle to drink or has a built-in straw. The flip handle on the bottle allow for you to carry it as well. I highly recommend this product!
This is the best gift guide video I think I've ever watched. I've got six kids of all ages and grandkids to shop for and you gave me SO many good ideas. Thank you!!
Thank you for sharing! I have been slowly thinking of gifts throughout the years, and making an online note for the individual, even if it's something homemade or frugal. I am not anywhere close to living as a minimalist,, but I greatly enjoy watching your channel. Baby steps to a decluttered mind and home
I got my 21yo son Sequence Jr when he was 5. Although we have been playing the adult version for years, we still occasionally play the Junior version all these years later. We also play a mean game of Scrabble Jr too!
My husband & don’t have any kids, and instead of buying gifts for each other, we just buy something for the house. One year we bought a dishwasher, one year a new furnace, etc. If we don’t have as much to spend that year, maybe something smaller like new sheets or towels (but get rid of the old ones). It is so much less stressful & we accomplish something we would need to do anyway as well.
One easy thing that I like to do when wrapping a bunch of gifts is use address labels to print pretty gift labels with our names already on them I leave the “to” blank and fill in a sentiment, our names and a cute clip art picture.
First time watcher. I bought the kinetic sand toy for my grandsons who were visiting from the UK. They checked it out for maybe 10 min. & that was it. 🤷🏼♀️ maybe just them
We draw names and buy a book for the person. Super fun and occasionally people swap with another person which is acceptable. Our celebration is more like Thanksgiving but with strolls to lights, gathering with spiritual community and watching holiday shows.
I absolutely love how quickly you went through your presentation. I've watched other UA-camr's presentations and they drag them out to the point of not being helpful. This was awesome! I got so many good ideas! Thank you!
Thank you, This is by far one the best gift guides I’ve seen! I’m not a religious person but I even am considering a few of your faith based recommendations.
My husband and dad are hard to shop for because they have all the things. This year I found "lifting jacks" which are like jack stands but instead of for vehicles they can hold things up, like those odd jobs where you need both hands to cut or adjust something but also need the thing held up? My husband is forever having to wait for me to be able to hold things up for him so I think these will be a hit.
yes! i got my daughter a boat from green toys based on your recommendation... ive never cleaned it 😬 but its never been griss, moldy, faded, or gotten fuzzy and gross like other plastic

What if your budget is small? I feel the need to add more on a gift card than I would prefer to spend.
@TheMinimalMom thank you for sharing all these great ideas! I’m feeling a little less stressed, really!

Sounds blissful. Except maybe the TV dinner 😂 Though after many years, I'm not hosting an extended family traditional dinner. 😅
We started doing no gifts in 2020. It is so liberating. We donate to some of our favorite charities instead
Sounds amazing!!!!😂❤
Dawn - I am like you -- I am very happy without gifts - but my husband loves gifts. 😬
I budgeted and saved all year for Christmas gifts this year, but after many years of my husband trying to get me to do no gifts…I am finally giving in this Christmas. I was in tears at first, especially because I saved all year, but now I am seeing more freedom and joy in the Christmas season. As a teachers wife and former teacher, 😊gift cards are really the best!!!
@@MegInASheathDress Maybe it was a typo, not everyone is perfect
We did the same! And still do. I’ve never regretted it.

When you showed the children's cookbook, it reminded me that I have a Betty Crocker cookbook for children from my childhood (I'm 66!) and still use it.
I love kids cookbooks, so straight forward! 😂
I just used my Betty Crocker children's cookbook two days ago and I am 77
@@MegInASheathDress Turns out it's healthier after all!
I love mine & I'm 55.
I love practical gifts. If it's something you will truly use, it doesn't become clutter in the corner.
Those were my favorite growing up❤
Years ago i made my own gift bags using Christmas fabric from the fabric store.
What a great idea!
Bidet attachments are the BEST
One year for my birthday (in December) I received the most wonderful gift that keeps on giving -- a son-in-law! He proposed to my daughter on my birthday. I won't forget that day!
Love this! ❤️
Love this!
I like to give consumable gifts 🎁. Movie gift cards are big in our family.
@@ReturnToSenderz 😂❤️
@@JustOneDressthen do what you want. The commenter was speaking of the memories of their own.
I’m so glad to hear this!!
I like this idea. What did you search for and do you recommend a particular brand?
Thanks for the ideas! I was sitting outside of my daughter's preschool last week and one of her friends had a toddler-friendly digital camera. All the kids were super excited about it, taking turns posing and taking pictures with each other. I found them on Amazon for $30 and ordered six for all of the little kids I'm buying for this year. We're a big board game family so I think I'll be picking up Sequence for Kids for our 3 1/2 year old as well.
My daughter has a camera like this and has lots of fun. She's 5. 🙂
The cameras from last year are certainly a favorite. They play with it a lot! Mine are 3.5 and 5 now.
Do you have a website link? That sounds really cute.
Bamboo sheets are the BEST for the elderly and someone who is very ill or has tactile sensitivities.
Thank you from a house full of girls!💖
“They don’t get grodie or gross…” 😂😂😂😂I haven’t heard “grodie” since I was a kid in Nebraska!! Love it!!
My daughter made homemade rice bags that are like the grown-up version of the stuffed animals. We all love them.
I loved this video and its suggestions. Thanks Dawn. I really appreciate you putting your own non-gift approach to life on hold to let us have your thoughts. 🎉 🎁
The cord wraps are GREAT!!! We have many, my husband loves them (and so do I) ?
For folks considering gift cards, I just read that in the US alone, there are $21 BILLION (BILLION) in unspent gift cards. I now give cash in a handwritten card "Gift Cash to be spent at XX" or "Gift Cash no expiry, no limits."
We should all dig through drawers and wallets and purses and spend old gift cards on this year's gifts for others, just to get those cards spent. Or I bet there's a charity that takes cards with small values. Ok Google.
Yes, I have a few of these gift cards...I have been checking if no expiry date and then regifting.
I think it's illegal to have an expiry on a gift card
I don't know if this is no longer allowed, but in the U.S. at least, some companies used to deduct annual fees for non-usage of a gift card. Over time, the whole thing could be frittered away if forgotten about or if someone was waiting to use it!!
@@mwahl1686 Yes, that happened to me on several cards. So passing unused ones right away.
My son has that helicopter. He is 12 now and its a toy he said he will never get rid of. He also has the rocket. They both have been with us for 8 years. Highly recommend them as well!
Love this gift guide, Dawn! I’ve never heard of shower steamers before, We always get my MIL bath bombs but she will love to try these.
Even though you kinda of grumble about gift-giving; you always have one of the best gift guides. I love how you know your sister Diana so well and get her the perfect gift each year.❤😊
As for the guys; yes, they are so difficult to buy for.
I think you get the idea 😂
And last, but, not least- gift cards to their favorite restaurant, hobby place, golf range, etc.
Sequence for kids is more fun than the adult version.
Those kids faith books look great.
Thank you for all the wonderful ideas.
Literally wait every year for Dawns gift guide… thank you Dawn, it never disappoints!!🎄
We got the green toys too- ours are a lot more used! They are usually floating in the mud hole outside but they have held up well
I love giving my kids gifts they can use everyday. Last year, I got my artsy kids some higher quality craft supplies, and this year, I got them each a book (since they’re both readers too) and a book sleeve to protect their books in their backpacks. 📚
i buy Christmas material on sale at end of the year and make different sized bags then use ribbon to tie them shut. they last forever
I told my husband that I'd like to consider no gifts between us, since we just added a new puppy to our household this past summer, (and a new to us pop up camper a few years ago!)
I did lower my budget for everyone, and left more in savings.
The Jasmine Pearl flavor of that tea is one of my favorites!
Harney and Sons, which makes the tea you chose, has a lovely selection of gifts. Shipping is free, and right now they offer 20% off on purchases over $30. I stop by their tea shop when I drive to the next state to visit family. I am a serious tea drinker and love the variety of choices they have.
Thank you for your calming, no-nonsense videos. Much appreciated. Thank you
One thing I've learned: there is no perfect gift for everyone.
One of my kiddos legit said “I want experiences this year for Christmas.” 😱😁
I'm surprised you didn't touch more on consumables, a nice bottle of liquor someone's favorite snack. Make up skip care. Candles the stuff that it doesn't stay in the home for too long
Thank you for this video! Do you have a video on minimizing holiday decor?
🤷🏼♀️ maybe just them
I'll have to rewatch and take lots of screen shots! Thanks for the help!
This is hands down the BEST gift guide I've seen this year. Every year your guides are the absolute best. Thank you!
We draw names and buy a book for the person. Super fun and occasionally people swap with another person which is acceptable. Our celebration is more like Thanksgiving but with strolls to lights, gathering with spiritual community and watching holiday shows.
My mom got my boys nail kits last year and it’s been one of the gifts ever!
I'm right there with you the absolute BEST eyeshadow palette EVER.
I absolutely love how quickly you went through your presentation. I've watched other UA-camr's presentations and they drag them out to the point of not being helpful. This was awesome! I got so many good ideas! Thank you!
last Christmas I got 4 cheese/wood board from 4 different people 😞 I don’t even need 1
Milwaukee leaf blower is a life changer. Amazing for blowing off patios, porches and garages. My favorite and I’m a woman!
Thank you, This is by far one the best gift guides I’ve seen! I’m not a religious person but I even am considering a few of your faith based recommendations.
Love all the suggestions apart from the gift cards, cash is king and it doesn't expire 👍
We have the green toys that you showed and my boys have LOVED them for 2 years now! Thanks for that recommendation!
