Oh Mia, Freddie wrote this as he was dying, he tells about the wonders he saw out of his window. RIP Freddie 💛💛💛 Freddie 's birthday is September 5th. His statue is there too.

Written by Freddie in Montreux towards the end of his life, and covers his feelings and what he sees while staring through the window. Apparently he laid down the vocal track before handing it on to the rest of the band to complete at their leisure.
The written lyrics featured on the video are Freddie's.

Freddie wrote this as he sat out on his balcony he had in Montreux, Switzerland looking out over lake Geneva. He went there to get away from the prying eyes in London. He was dying and went there for peace. Even as he was dying, he was admiring the beauty around him. What an extraordinary man,

This was the very last song written by Freddie. It about his feelings and what he saw as he looked out his window from his house on Lake Geneva in Montreux, Switzerland. This is one of his last recordings, also. Brian's guitar is so emotive that it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. This song was released after Freddie's death on the Queen album appropriately named "Made In Heaven".

The song, the lyrics and (as always) Freddie’s vocals are heart-stirring.
But I’ll say the remaining band mates really did up the last song Freddie wrote so beautifully- the backing harmonies are lovely, Brian’s guitar reminds me of the birds gliding through the air above the scenery… Roger’s drumming is the perfect light touch… and John’s bass was sublimely, softly melodic. They show their love for the Incredible Freddie in every nuance.

One of my favourites even if it is so bittersweet. Christmas Time and Winter Time is really magical in the Alpine Region. There is something like "Alpenglühen". If you haven't seen this in Natura you haven't seen anything.
Freddie Mercury lived in Munich and Montreux where he saw and understood our Alpine Lifestyle. I think he loved it. Just flew back to London in his last Days for medical Treatment.

I read that Freddie did this song about 2 weeks before he died. To me, it speaks volumes about Freddie's soul and heart. He was in so much pain. He was at the very end of his life. And yet his indomitable spirit and his pure joy of life shines through, strong and clear. He is/was such an amazing human being.

Hi Deb… Just FYI, it wasn’t as late as two weeks… I’m not sure exactly, but at the very latest it would’ve been a couple months.
I saw a piece of an interview recently - I think it was Brian? - saying that Fred came home from Montreux in Sept… and Montreux was where he’d been recording, while living in what he called the “Duck House” right on the waterfront. When he got home, he stopped taking all his meds/passed away in Nov. The very last song he worked on was “Mother Love” - so that would’ve been in Sept maybe? - and this song would’ve been before that… but maybe as late as Sept also? IDK.🖖
      Just an FYI!

Freddie’s handwritten words bring life to this song! Even tho it’s not a Christmas song it does give me warm fuzzies of the holiday season!! We should follow Freddie’s example of noticing those simple & beautiful things that surround us! Christmas is Freddie’s favorite holiday! FYI - Freddie’s birthday is September 5th. 😁🎂🎼🎂🎼🎂

Hi Miaaaa, A Winter's Tale is from Queen's 1995 album Made in Heaven, which i have, it's a beautiful album, even though he was dying, Freddie's voice was still amazing on this album, Freddie passed away in November 1991 but the band decided to put this album together in 1995, with songs that were recorded and not actually released while Freddie was ill, 2 songs stand out from the Made in Heaven album i think you should check out :
    Heaven For Everyone
    Mother Love
With Mother Love, Freddie actually passed away before the song finished, so Brian May actually sung the last verse of the song 🙏🙏
Big Hi from Scotland 😀 😀
    RIP, Freddie 🙏 🙏

The band bought a studio in Montreux around 78, but Montreux was a small and sleepy Swiss town at that time. Freddie hated it, because there was nothing to do, but the hard work 😁. Later he found it more comfortable and enjoyed the pieceful place and he spent more and more time there during his last 2 years. Freddie bought a lakeview apartmant and wanted to celebrate Christmas there, but he passed away in November. I always think on this video as Freddie's Christmas card sent to the fans.

I was walking through a local park on my way to work early one morning as the sun was rising and it was crisp, bright, clear, and still. It was freezing cold and all the grass was crunchy and frosted over. There's a path that runs along-side a stream that runs down the length of the park with a steep wooded hill the other side full of trees that overhang the stream. I just took a photo, put this song on and blissed out.
