THANK YOU!! ✌️👑
I was scared I might actually see him. I can't have my visual of him shattered by reality.
It's okay, he doesn't actually have a face.
He is just a pair of floating hands
his face is a combination lock
@@jabcmw1 he's master hand and crazy hand from smash
He's Thing's younger brother, who still has two hands.
After watching a lot of LPL, a lot of Hollywood lockpicking scene became a lot more realistic than I thought, judging from the number of locks that LPL reviewed that can be raked open in 5 seconds.
You know locks are horribly made when Hollywood lockpicking works.
Eureka seven pfp! Man of culture!
@@the11382 Even scarier is Hollywood CCTV camera hacking works...and has for decades.
Hollywood only uses Master locks.
Yeah, funny thing that the most unrealistic part of most movie lockpicking scenes is doing it with a paperclip.
Not sure about USA, but in my country, paperclips are too thick for that, so when most people inevitably try to pick a lock, they conclude it's difficult and requires huge amounts of skill.
While in reality, the only thing they were doing wrong is using the paperclip instead of some tool that's thin enough.
Imagine Sarah Connor suddenly pulling out the tool Bosnian Bill and I made ...
i hope she rotates all the discs as far clockwise as they will go
I heart you both
And then closes the door and tries again to prove that it was not a fluke.
@@lolzhunter Ah yes, then pick up disc number one and get to picking...
Then realize that number two is in a false gate
How many people came because of the lockpickinglawyer. That's the only reason I clicked.
That's the reason I tripped on this video
me too
Definitely the only reason. Would never have come here otherwise.
I like the pro reacts stuff, but lpl made this a no-brainer to watch.
same
Linda Hamilton did actually learn to pick locks for the harness and the door. So much so that the UK cut part of the lockpicking scene.
And in a criminal asylum as she was in, yes having a keyed lock on the inside is totally realistic.
Not only did Hamilton learn to pick locks, but she apparently did it for real on camera when filming those scenes.
The UK is just ridiculous.
I have a theory. To defeat LPL, you simply have a mechanical arrangement so that you have to unlock hundreds of Masterlock #3's to get the door open. Tedious but not difficult you think? HAH!!
After opening hundreds of #3's LPL develops carpel tunnel syndrome from the repetitive motion of mindlessly opening so many identical locks.
LPL not only defeated now, but defeated PERMANENTLY.
LPL has stated he does have repetitive strain injury/carpal tunnel in his hands from picking, which is why he came up with the bent turning tool, so it's much easier on his hands. So while RSI slowed him down for a little bit, he still hasn't evolved into his final form.
Foolish, that would only make him stronger than ever before
Actually, wrapping the lock in duct tape with red Sharpie security marker slows him down more than multiple Master Lock no. 3's...and he has shims, portable hydraulic cutters, and a Ramset, mind!
I think he’s just gonna be more angry when he eventually comes truh
Defeating the LPL is not difficult. As long as there's no conventional lock on the outside and the entire housing and door is made of high quality steel there's no way to open it from the outside with the tools he has at his disposal.
On top of that. In one of his videos he also showcases two locks from Stuff Made Here where he can only open a conventional custom made lock by prying behind the lock casing. If you seal that with welding for instance and actually have the door positioned as an outside door would be positioned I'm sure he wouldn't be able to pick it unless maybe he makes a specific tool for it. But then it ends up being guesswork. In the end any conventional lock can be picked as far as I understand it.
Most people laugh at movie lockpicking scenes, thinking they're unrealistic for being too quick. Turns out (based on watching a lot of LPL), they're actually unrealistic for taking too long 😂
If they take long then the picker just isn't a pro
Always amazed at hosts inviting an expert to the show only to constantly interrupting him. Let the professional explain things. Especially lpl who is one of the best narrators in youtube.
They let him explain almost everything tf are you talking about
I'm a little further in and it's kind of unwatchable the way the male host keeps jumping in with his own thing.. it's like host reviews lock picking in movies and asks LPL to agree.. this is so not like other experts explain videos. It's kinda useless. I'm bailing at the midpoint.
It's amazing how often TV and movies think that picking a lock somehow opens it without ever turning it...
Its possible full techniques are not shown to prevent copying or some kind of cease order in some countries for encouraging criminal behaviour ?
@@highpath4776 you know what encourage means?
And youtube exists.
@@dr_birb Yes, but UA-cam is a comparatively recent phenomenon.
Imagine having a celebrity guest on your show specifically for his reactions and then talking over him or getting the first word in all the time.
Yup, and also say in front of an expert lockpicker that wiggling a lockpick like the woman in the movie wouldn't work and also rating stuff 0/10 while having no knowledge on the topic in FRONT of the expert once again. Very professional!
Right. What a joke
LPL is so restrained they weren't going to get any reactions. So they made their own.
so you watched a video, then came to this one but commentated about the other one? Didn't you notice you're on a different video?
Let LPL talk… the host is reacting first to everything
Exactly my thought. The hosts who acknowledge they aren't experts are the ones doing all the talking.
For the White Collar one: he gives up after one bump attempt, but not because it didn't work. He starts to bump it because he's familiar with the model, presumably because he knows it has no security pins, but stops after Mozzie tells him he souped it up. Presumably that would include at least some security pins, which would render bump attacks impractical.
"You're asking me if I want to build a fire?"
Oh, those will be legendary videos!
We all knew LPL was gonna be on an episode as soon as they posted that lock image
5:35 -- TKOR can you edit the video with a blur on TPL in the lens reflection?
Ya, that should be blurred
I never thought of him having a goatee. How cool.
hahaaa
"And today we have the LPL here with us!" (Tim's pupil's dilate and become fixed). LPL's well known forearm appears from edge of screen. (Tim's pupils shrink to normal size).
Male host is pretty brutal. Let the expert talk man, don’t try to show us how much/little you know…
LPL: This is a wafer lock.
Host: Does it have less pins?
LPL: No, it has wafers.
Next you'll be telling me lever locks don't have pins either.
In Europe, esp. Germany, entrance doors have a handle on the inside, but on the outside is a fixed knob. To open the snapper, you insert the key and turn 45 deg, ie you use the key as a handle. Thats what you see in Das Leben Der Anderen.
Yup. If the core was bad, they might have actually opened the door in the shot, and probably just replaced the audio in post and foleyd it.
One of the most talking LPL has ever done for a UA-cam video 😂
Might wanna censor that face reflection. LPL likes his privacy.
Timestamp? Never mind.
@@Eyes0penNoFear what?
The sad thing is, even they can't tell you what LPL looks like, all they remember was seeing a pair of hands.
The background music is way too loud, particularly in the first half of this video.
2:55 I like how they didn't comment on the fact they were looking straight at the reaction. They would be blind.
For those of us who remember McGiver opening locks with a simple twist of one of the blades of his SAK, that was deliberately done wrong as not to show real lockpicking techniques on screen. Maybe some of those films (that show realistic concepts but bad execution) are simply following on that tradition...
13 mins and “The Pick That Bosnian Bill and I Made” doesn’t even rate a mention.
terminator sara connor she legit learned how to pick locks just for that movie. at lest thats what she said from the directors cuts of the movie
I believe her. It's not that difficult on some locks. But the technique is the same whether it's an easy lock or a difficult lock, so knowing the motions to go through would be enough for movie purposes.
@@cr10001 but ether way actors who would do that in real for there role I prefer vs ones who would do stuff that wouldn't work. Like the termite there a way that will open the lock but it looks more like a hockey puck and puts all the umph of the reactions into the lock
So awesome, thank you for that wonderful collaboration!
MasterLock approves all these pickings in movies ! All realistic
I like how exactly no one turned the cylinder
Has LPL ever reacted to the lockpicking in the Bourne series? I have no idea what was supposed to be happening, but it looked like Bourne (Matt Damon) has a single, screw-driver looking device that he just pushes into any lock and after about a second it turns. I'd love to hear LPL's thoughts on that.
lishi tool, maybe?
I haven't seen any of those movies so idk
@@kianasheibani1708 it was definitely faster than what LPL shows when he uses that tool. In the movie it was literally a two action movement. He jammed the tool into the lock, waited about half a second, and then twisted it once, with the door immediately opening.
@@noneayourbusiness5149 its a tool that just doesnt exist, its meant to be an automatic lockpick
@@verakoo6187 so lpl in tool form?
Finally a LPL face reveal might want to censor that
In a few episodes of the original MacGuyver show he used the blade of his Swiss army knife to pick locks.
That is doable for cheap locks, I actually did exactly that my self with an old lock many many years ago, just inserted the small blade and wiggled it around until I got it to turn.
And yes it was a swiss army knife ;)
LPL never shows his face because he was tragically burned in a a fire due to a faulty lock which left him trapped in a building.
I thought it's for security reasons
That's not true.
@@bassanup It is, but who tells the truth on the internet?
@@Finnec123 it’s super true, the trueth of trues
@@Coldheart322 so you're lying too?
In the "HOUSE" scene were trying to open the desk the prize is defiantly Vicodin lol
Great set of hands there. The three of your hands on the video, perfection.
You gotta admit that LPL never fails to be handsome.
That’s it. LPL is canonically a lone pair of arms
i love tkor and LPL! epic video! thank you!
The Eurocylinder 'pick', they also opened it in the wrong direction. Even with a key there it should be clockwise to unlock.
That depends on the rest of the mechanism within the door.
I've had clockwise locking and clockwise unlocking doors so far, basically depends on where the door is hinged (left or right). The rotation of the lock is usually made as such that you unlock the door by rotating the key away from the door frame - if that makes sense as an explanation :D
For pyroplastic, thermite or incendiary things you should ask to cody's lab, nile red, explosions and fire all youtube channels that work with a lot of chemistry. There are many of them that I don't even remember the channels by name, or aren't using always chemistry(at the end breaking bad concept is using chemistry as much as possible into the story without annoying spectators) on theyr channels, but often I see theyr awesome work and sometimes create experiments that could melt that electronic kind of locks; as per if does the job opening the door, I don't really know.
LPL face on the glases reflection
Thanks for bringing on the Lock Picking Lawyer. I enjoy both of your shows.
Random question: Utes are Cougars?
Ouch, LPL got the U.S Marshals bit wrong; I've done that on stage and so have several TOOOL members at events
That faceless hand salute from LPL reminds me of the parents from Cow & Chicken
Ugh y’all introduced me to LPL and now I really want to learn lock picking! Haha
It's a fun skill. Just don't advertise that you know how to do it.
Yeah, everyone assumes it's criminal intent. Even though it is actually locksport.
Haha! LPL is quite a legend.
we love how every time LPL shows up in other people's vids we just see his hand
Thank goodness for the random music playing over the whole video
So you got some glasses, handcuffs and coat hangers, and ask tkor if they wanna try it, but you never show it? Ok... Ok... Imma stick do LPL videos then
You forgot the most important scene. The electronic lock picking scene from the movie "Sneakers"
"Yeah ... yeah ... right. Okay, I'll give it a shot."
"Hmmm... cattle mutilations are up..."
2KOR should do a part 2 to this vid in the future.
In the original Magnum PI from the 80s, Tom Selleck used to pick locks. Unlike all other examples from Hollywood, it used to take him a bit of time.
also quite a few scenes in Dexter, but I don't remember if they actually show the picking close up.
Seems like the thermite could have worked if the lock were an electromagnetic lock.
Handcuffs these days have a 2 locks so they cant be picked easily
heh, we're such a modern society that even our restraints have 2-factor authorization!
It’s an older film, but they should have covered Michael Mann’s great _Thief_ !
forgot to sensor LPL's face
Has it been fixed? I must have missed it.
Never mind.
@@Eyes0penNoFear wait what?
@@GraysonQuickBuilds LPL doesn't ever show his face. At least on purpose 😉
Seems they don't read comments here...
@@Eyes0penNoFear his face isn't in the video. Right?
I just rewatched all 96 episodes of Dexter (included with Amazon Prime). They did a lot of lock picking. The speed of picking was a little unrealistic, but they did use two tools in the locks.
Got to edit things down. Don't want to show a person entering a car, bucking, adjusting mirrors, turning the key etc. You should them enter and drive away split seconds later.
Lol, did you just advertise for Amazon?
YOU COLLABED WITH THE LOCK PICKING LAWYER!!!
you know how the lockpicking lawyer doesn't show his face you could see it through the reflection in those glasses lol
I’m sure LPL would have had the door to Nakatomi Tower open in less than a minute.
You told us you asked Lochpicking Lawyer to critique these Hollywood scenes since "we're not experts at this". Then dude was immediately blurting his take on every clip before LL could say anything. He was trying desperately to show off but ended up proving he really is not an expert.
I've never heard the sides of a pair of glasses called "arms" before. I've only heard them called "temples."
If you put handcuffs on correctly, the keyhole will face up, away from the hands, to prevent any self picking.
Make more of these LPL!
Love seeing the LPL comment on movie locks. Regarding the last lock from House, I remember having a desk lock that rotated 360 degrees when locking and unlocking. Because of this, the “didn’t turn” comment from the single end image could be premature.
Also, we don't see in the video shot clearly, but several desks I've seen in this style have a lock that is more like a door knob : you need to keep the key turned and pull the drawer. So if the drawer in the final scene is pulled open, then the key hole would be vertical again.
Now I'm not sure this is the right type of lock for that, but the scene doesn't seen odd to me for that reason.
No one pointed this out and I noticed this thought persisted into the testing video, the breaking bad clip wasn't a lock perse it was an electronic card reader, they melted it and disabled the electromagnetic lock (usually positioned at the top of the door) it wasn't a deadbolt.
You could *maybe* make that breaking bad one work. You'd need a crucible to attach to the door such that as the thermite lights, it flows down the crucible and into the door, where you hope enough will sit on the bolt to melt it.
Getting the thermite in the door seems easy. Controlling it after that, less so
You should have asked him about the time when Hannibal lecter escaped his hand cuffs with a pen tip. I would love to know if that is possible
Always wanted to see LPL attempt the U.S. Marshals sunglasses trick.
You should have called it, “ the 6 hand movie”. 💗
that has to be one of the longest LPL videos ive ever seen
The Lives of Others ( Das leben der anderen) was set in East Germany and that pretty much all you need to know. Who needs to pick a lock to get in to a block the all when there's informers everywhere? Also they probably have the key anyway - master key or keyed alike.
Some of the locks they mass produced for housing like this also had some faults that weren't fixed or were fixed after a ton of them were made and in use. If they were made to accept a master key, which seems likely for an apartment complex like this, it's even easier to get in
The Breaking Bad scene looks more like a magnesium flare.
you just couldn't make that screen zoomed in? could you?
Whenever I meet a Lawyer I check out their hands to see if it is LPL
I would love to see what his favorite video game lockpicking mini games are (understanding that none are realistic because they can't do tactile feedback). I just want to know which takes he finds most fun.
2nd one might have been done at an incorrect angle to try to limit damage to the lock.
I’d be curious to see his reaction to some stargate lockpicking
Whew! That was a close one. Keep that face hidden.
Patient rooms in those types of facilities do generally have keyways on the inside. Atleast at the facilities I've seen.
5:00 there is NO hinge left dude..
Why is the male host keeping jumping into the lawyers speech? Jeez we get it, you know somethinf about the topic
At 9:43 the door wasn't locked, but on European door knobs (don't know about US) the knob is usually not movable.
So he would need a key to open the door even if it wasn't locked.
I once used some tweezers to get into my brother's small lockbox to keep his games from me so i wouldn't get better at them than him. it wasn't that hard to open up...
At this point I’m convinced that LPL is just a Masterlock with arms, out to defeat all others of his kind and take their power for his own
Hummmm I wonder what the handcuffs were “used” for???
HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS EXISTED????
It's confirmed that LPL is two floating hand
LPL is becoming an amazing celebrity.

I tought I could cheat my way into seeing lpl in person, but I just saw his hands as usual
apparently somebody found out that there is a reflection of him in the glasses around 5:35. It is not much, but that might tickle your fancy :)
