He also did the choreography for Cabaret (1972) and All that Jazz (Chicago). You'd like Hey Big Spender from Sweet Charity - very dark and the women are like snakes and menacing, and Mein Herr from Cabaret - again, there's always a menacing quality to his work.
This is from the musical and film "Sweet Charity" where Shirley MacLaine plays a "taxi" dancer, basically an escort who dances in a sleazy dance hall with any partner who pays for her time. In this scene she has been taken to a fancy club by a movie star. The more famous songs in the performance are "Big Spender" and "If my friends could see me now"
This is a nice change of pace! I don't ever think about dances in this era at all, so this is an eye-opening experience
The "e" in Fosse is sounded so it's pronounced as "Fossey". This is from "Sweet Charity" staring Shirley MacLaine, but the lead dancer here is Suzanne Charny who also danced it in the Broadway production, but is mostly know for TV work in the 60s and 70s. The thing about Fosse's choreography is that you can identify it immediately by it's angularity and contorted profiles and precision. This Frug is used in the musical to convey alienation and how insular and stuck up the "rich and trendy" folks are, unlike Sweet Charity, so I think you got the meaning just right.
Fosse directed and choreographed some great musicals in the theatre and on film, so check out "Pippin", "Chicago", "All That Jazz" and of course "Cabaret". He was also a prolific dancer and actor in the 40s and 50s and so spanned the years between the great MGM musicals and the swinging 60s. Check him out dancing in "Kiss Me Kate" and you'll see the beginnings of his classic mannerisms. You also get to see Ann Miller.

Really compelling choreography by Fosse (pronounced Fossy). I don't know exactly what story is being told here, but my impression is that it is about rich people's social conventions and interactions that they take very seriously, but viewed from the outside, look a bit silly. Nice reaction!

Didn't Fosse do Chicago? Could be wrong. I remember trying to dance like this when I was younger and failing miserably. Anyway, thanks for this, it's made me want to see the musical again.
