Thanks! Yeah it is unfortunate. It’s probably intentional though. Poor lubrication = Shorter lifespan = More sales. Rotating grilles help with air distribution, similar to oscillation. The slats of rotating grilles are slanted slightly, so when they spin, the air is expelled at varying angles.
Interesting, I did like the blue bladed (and switch ringed) version better, and for some reason the badge looks bigger with the black blade. But still neat looking fan.
Same, I also very much prefer the look of the blue one. It has more vibrance on what otherwise is a plain modern fan. Haha I actually had the same thought about the badge size on this fan. It's probably just an illusion because the badge and blades are both the same colour.

The fan like Sekai sfn 1609 but the not same parts on the fan is the blade the blade cover and the motor cover an the feet and in Indonesian the fan has 2 color blue and pink
A bit of both for sure. The materials used for the bearings probably aren't as good as they should be, and they use poor quality oil and in tiny quanities. A perfect combination to reduce a fan's lifespan.
sucks I had an old fan for 10 plus years. worked sooo well, it broke after man years, tried to fix it opened it up and couldnt get it to work so it was thrown out. Now I cant for the life of me find any good fans that even compare with my older fan... still looking for somthing as powerful as my old one :(
It’s the unfortunate reality of most appliances nowadays. They don’t make them like they used to. Most modern fans (especially the simple oscillating fans sold at big box stores without fancy electronic controls) will actually last a long time if well cleaned and occasionally oiled. Performance will be disappointing though, compared to older fans. But if you prefer an older fan, I’d suggest taking a look on local buy/sell sites or thrift stores. Sometimes you can score good older fans for a fraction of the price of a new one.

I don't think Canadian Tire sold this particular fan, but Walmart certainly did. Walmart still sells this, but I think they have a different colour option (grey, if I recall correctly?).
Same model as the one with blue blades which I think is no longer in your collection. If you knew you are going to get this one then probably you could have kept that one right?
I usually have no intentions of keeping most of the modern fans I buy, and these pedestal fans were no exceptions. I sometimes will buy modern fans that look interesting to make videos on.
Could I modify this fan to "reliably" spray vegetable oil on the contestants of a bikini tickle fight and oil wrestling event we're having to raise money for charity.

The reason why the barings don't sound good is because maybe the factory that makes the barings does not use proper oil or maybe they used cheap oil

At the end of summer last year, it was on a clearance sale. Couldn't resist the price, even though it's a modern fan lol.

All good, Canadian Tire does sell fans that look quite similar! Their 5-blades DC pedestal fan comes to my mind.
The sound this makes is like those blue blade galaxy fans pretty interesting on low mostly
It does have a similar sound! I agree; once it hits medium and high speeds, it has the typical 5-blade-fan whizzing sound.
Those blue translucent bladed Galaxy fans were really steeper than the 5 bladed fans, they have almost no pitch to those blades.

How do u take the blade cap off
It can be turned counterclockwise to loosen. It’s reverse threaded.

It might just be over-tightened. I’m not sure if returning is the best route to go, but it depends on the context.
