You sir are a gentleman and a scholar! Every other video I've watched on this has been at least 15 minutes long and you got straight to the point! May your life be blessed!
Thanks to you providing a clean, quick, and precise video this helps me before I break my dash pad in my 88 yj to put in my new 4x6 corner dash speakers well done!
Thanks for making this I had a one or two questions and this nailed the rest. couldn't find anything to be able to get to the nuts from the lower windshield bracket bolts.
I had new 95 back in 96 and I wanted to change out those 2 front speakers. I looked everywhere for info with no luck. So I just left them in. Damn 90's and no youtube.
Thank you thank you thank you! Enough info to tackle it now ..... I have a 92 Renegade wrangler , and sometimes a visual reference is all we need to get started !
NEX I ended up doing it several times due to poor speaker selection and a loose connection. I ended up with Infinity Kappa. O suggest soldering the wires on to the speakers and make the wires connect low so you can reach them after the install.
Great video, only two things I would suggest for your next video. turn your camera, nobody wants to watch a little tiny video on a verticle screen, especially if it's not high definition. And second, they're called "torx" bolts not "star" bolts. The video was super helpful, I'm not sure why people are so scared to do this job, jeep designed this in a way that makes it so people can't steal your sound system easily in an open top vehicle. Thanks for doing this video.
William West is there anything else you had to unscrew? I have a 92 YJ and I do everything in the video and I have not space at all its hardly being pushed out, any suggestions?
Your jeep is in incredible shape. When I first folded my windshield, the hinges were just about seized and the amount of rust underneath was gross. I'm assuming you come from somewhere with no snow or salt on the roads lol. Good video.
OMG you do not understand how thankful I am for this video!!! According to my Chiltons you are just supposed to reach up from underneath & go behind it. My hands look like i tried to milk an unwilling tiger! 😂
Hells yeah man, I threw some speakers in the back of my YJ that now put the blown fronts too shame. Gunna replace the lower windshield weatherstrip and put LED dash lights now that I know what to do! T H A N K S!!!
this video just broke my heart... getting my windshield frame back in place took 3 men and ratchet straps and I'm not looking forward to doing this again lol
Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. Just a quick question...What size torx bit for the three smaller screws on the speaker cover, what size for the visor removal and, what size torx bit required for the top of the dash, after the windshield is lowered? I know the big ones are T40...
This video is dead on correct. An impact driver is helpful for the star bolts..also have some spacers ready for the inside speaker posted since the original speakers have a large rubber spacers built in.. You may need 8 half inch rubber spacers. Great job on the video
Farmdog Fast - great video. I am getting ready to order my speakers. Crutchfield says the Infinity Kappa 462.11 cfp you have recommended will not fit and they recommend a Kicker speaker. Did you have to fabricate to make the infinity kappa speakers work? Thanks!
Thank you! I’m looking for sound quality the first time so I don’t have to do it again😃. Thanks again for your help and for the video. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
I have a 95 yj also and I have a hard too and I loosend up the hard top and lifted it up a bit and the thing still worn move forward and everything is un done I was wondering what is wrong
You can remove them by pulling the parking brake assembly, and the tach, but even then it is a tight fit for your hands. There are little tiny sheet metal nuts holding the speakers in. I agree, there are many things that Jeep should have absolutely done differently. Torx bits anyone?

Thx brother sorry for the slow response I changed my email, God bless.

Rey Varela thanks for the compliment. Hope your YJ projects go well.
@Farmdog Fast - Thank you for taking the time to put a very to the point video together. No BS, Just to the point. Thanks
Thank you for the nice post hope all your Jeep projects go well

Good job on the video. Thank you, i've been putting this off for a bit.
NEX I ended up doing it several times due to poor speaker selection and a loose connection. I ended up with Infinity Kappa. O suggest soldering the wires on to the speakers and make the wires connect low so you can reach them after the install.
I also have the Inifity's, I am working on it now. Thanks!

Great video. This is how these videos should be done!
Thank you Taylor.
Thank you! I need to replace my 95 yj speakers you showed me the easy way to access them without taking the entire dash out.
William West is there anything else you had to unscrew? I have a 92 YJ and I do everything in the video and I have not space at all its hardly being pushed out, any suggestions?
Yea mine is not budging after removing everything in video
Got it- but what a pain!
Sorry for the camera angle it was my first UA-cam video.

Ya I tried to go underneath too. My hands are too big for that.
Hells yeah man, I threw some speakers in the back of my YJ that now put the blown fronts too shame. Gunna replace the lower windshield weatherstrip and put LED dash lights now that I know what to do! T H A N K S!!!
Great video! Exactly what I was looking for
Thx glad it helped
this video just broke my heart... getting my windshield frame back in place took 3 men and ratchet straps and I'm not looking forward to doing this again lol
That's how a tutorial is made.
Thank you
Glad it helped
great video, simple and to the point. Nice jeep
Perfect video!!! I’m doing this now
Good luck Griz
@@OfarmdogO I had a little issue with the driver side. Then I realized the factory ac gets in the way lol but. I got it
Wow factory AC , now that's rare.
@@OfarmdogO still works too! I only use it when my wife wants to ride. Otherwise it’s doorless lol

Great job on the video
Good information I had to add a few rubber spaces also.
perfect. thanks!
Im trying to find the four screws that hold the speaker grill in place, three small and one large. Any idea what sizes these are?
Wow, I want that YJ.
Ya I hated to sell it, bought it with only 8500 miles on it in 2015.
Awesome vid 👍
will my dash rattle after i ser it all back up?

The infinity kappas fit great and sound amazing...I tried some used kickers that i found in a car we were cutting up and they didn't fit.
Oh and no I used the factory holes on the Kappas Crutchfield is mistaken.
Thank you! I’m looking for sound quality the first time so I don’t have to do it again😃. Thanks again for your help and for the video. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Is this the one you got? www.crutchfield.com/p_1084621CFP/Infinity-Kappa-462-11cfp.html?search=infinity_kappa_462.11cfp&avf=N&skipvs=T
they're called TORX bolts, the whole Jeep is put together with these, no offense meant with the correction😉
I have a 95 yj also and I have a hard too and I loosend up the hard top and lifted it up a bit and the thing still worn move forward and everything is un done I was wondering what is wrong
Can you lower the windshield. Make sure you took the bolts out of the roll bar.
Make sure the roof os up enough for the windshield to come forward
Torque bolt
Nice video
Jeep was on crack when they designed this. Hey just take apart half the interior to replace two speakers. Whatever lol
deanml116 you can do it without taking the entire dash out but it’s not easy
It's makes it hard for someone to steal the speakers
You can remove them by pulling the parking brake assembly, and the tach, but even then it is a tight fit for your hands. There are little tiny sheet metal nuts holding the speakers in. I agree, there are many things that Jeep should have absolutely done differently. Torx bits anyone?
Hey, anybody know what the dimensions of the speakers? Thanks
Gabriel Bray 4x6 but not all 4x6 speakers fit. Make sure you check compatibility. I suggest I recommend Infinity Kappa 462.11 cfp
Farmdog fast thank you sir
thanks!
