Thanks for posting this! My 89 YJ has the ECU computer behind the Glove Box. Needed to remove it for a rebuild. When I re-install the Glove Box, I will use 1 Wing Nut on each side, to make it much easier. if I have to remove it again.
Been wanting to remove that original glove box and throw in a locking box for added security. I don't keep anything extremely valuable in my Jeep but people will steal even the cheap stuff. Great video as always!
Thanks!! I kept looking at that massive hole thinking "What cool thing could I do with that?" The comment below from PoBoySpecial (he lives local to me and is a friend of mine) got me to thinking about making a custom fiberglass lockable enclosure. Or maybe the Smittybuilt lockable glove box would be cool! Have a good one bud!!
@@Poweraddicts I bought the Smittybilt glove box but haven't installed yet!! I have 2 YJs as well and havent decided which one to put it in!! lol One is a White 93' w 2.5L nearly stock except for 2.5" lift, immaculate condition. I call it "Little Whitey" The other is a '93 Sahara w 4.0. This one was probably really nice back in the late 90's, but by the time I found her, she looks like she'd been sitting in field for 5 years. OME springs, Adams driveshafts and I don;t even know what else. PO said it has Yukon gears, but I don;t know how to verify that yet!! I call her "Old Ugly" Keep up the good work, Chuck!!
That is a good idea!! 🤔 I bought 5 gallons of Fiberglass resin not long ago, I could make a couple enclosures now. I'll try moving those projects a bit closer to the front of the list now that I have the supplies. Hope all is going well with y'all! Holla at ya soon!
Great video and very informative plus it's nice to learn new things about my Jeep. I'm having problems with my speedometer on my 90 model Jeep Wrangler Sahara automatic. Is there any way you could show how to diagnose and fix the automatic?
I can’t get those screws man, I tried the same way you did it just isn’t working, even when I get something in their it’s stripping. I don’t know what to do. The car won’t start and it’s the ecm at fault.
I have a horn problem it's underneath my airbag I just purchased this new 99 Jeep Wrangler I was wondering if you can do a video on that soon because I never did one with an airbag on the steering wheel
If I get access to a TJ that has that same issue I'll do the video. Just fooling around under an air bag when there is nothing wrong can introduce issues later down the road.
Get you a mirror or put your cell phone in "selfie" mode to look for the screws. There was some models that used a Phillips head screw some used small hex head screws. There isn't anyway I can tell you by typing it here.
Get out of my head man 😂 I was literally scratching my head today looking at my glove box trying to figure out how in the hell it was stuck on there.I need to get back there and take my computer out and look at maybe putting an amplifier in for the radio.
The guys in the YJ factory who had to install these glove boxes all day committed suicide in under a month. The dash designer was strung up by the gonads so that crows would pick out his eyes.

An excellent video on removal of the YJ glove box. Thank you
You are welcome. Hope it helped!
Maybe do a video to show how to remove the dash in a yj for us trying to find leaks behind it, wanting to put a flat dash in, or another custom dash.

I've ran into that a couple of times. I reckon they just used whatever they had laying around. :-) You are welcome, Glad the video helped!
Thanks friend, this video so useful
You are welcome! Glad the video helped!
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for dropping in!!
How do you clean the leaves and crap out of the vent underneath and to the right of the glovebox?
What happened to the gloves in the glove box? Lol. That hole looks like a great place to install a gun box safe.... When we gonna do that video?

I wonder if the stereo was welded or if there was one hell of a short at one point that arc'd on the super cheap metal radio bracket..
It looked welded. But that old junky rig .. who knows 🤔

I'll put that on the to do list!
Can I buy that dash pad?

I think Chuck just does YJ videos...
Ive got access to a 2000 and a 2006 TJ that I've made videos on.
If I get access to a TJ that has that same issue I'll do the video. Just fooling around under an air bag when there is nothing wrong can introduce issues later down the road.
I have a 94 yj how to I put front speakers in it when it did not come with speakers
Sometime soon I'll get to that video. Just make sure you subscribe and click the bell icon so you don't miss it.
I can’t find the screws that are back on each side of the glove box. Where are they

I just got a 1995 Wrangler YJ and I am having one heck of a time finding the side mounted brackets for the rear seat. HELP! I do not do eBay
Good luck on those. Ebay would be my first choice, then check morris4x4, Quadratec, or Amazon
@@Poweraddicts thank you
U da man my friend
Thanks man!!
How much more difficult is this with factory ac?
You may have to drop the AC. But I believe pulling the radio out would be an easier option.
Ya ive never bad to remove any screws on the back side on any of the ones i have removed
You got lucky! They kind of a pain!
What's with the different size tires on you jealous YJ?
I've got 33s on Rust Bucket and 35s on the 91. 😁

You didn't know I was Telepathic as well? 😀 The computer (ECM) is under the brake booster. Glad the video helped you!

It definitely wasn't thought out very well!
