@CaptainForestFalcon That's similar to what I've been doing, except I always try to time it so that I can hit the rat against the wall at 0:18 (the last platform before the second moving gap), which almost always causes him to miss the moving gap just after you fall through it. Buys you an extra half a second at least, which is the difference between success and failure here!
@NintendoCapriSun it is definately never easy to pull this off, I almost actually messed this run up at the group of moving gaps (if you time and position yourself right, you can just fall through all of them). Thanks for the feedback NCS! :)
@qwAirGear The instant the rat first appears @ 0:16, I sprint as hard as I can to get the first purple moving gate to appear on screen as soon as possible. I then slow down enough so the rat will fail to go through the gap and will be stuck there for a second (if you go to fast, the wall will disappear offscreen and the rat can cheat to catch up to you as though nothing happend). It then coincides running as hard as possible will result in the rat getting stuck at the next gate. Rest is sprint!
@MrRegalLegal I actually don't mind Clinger Winger much now, but that's only because I got used to the route. The worst thing is trying to get as far as possible in it when you have a feeling you already had screwed up one time too many. With no check points and a ridiculously long track, it actually amazes me I can do this. The boss battle is exceptionally annoying and difficult too.
@MrRegalLegal Thanks alot! I actually find that I dislike intruder excluder and terra tubes more than this. Not all the time, just when things start to go wrong. Final level is still the hardest though. But once you can get past the "this is a flipping hard game", Battletoads really is actually fun.
@NintendoCapriSun Of course upon rewatching, it looks like your way is clearly better since it causes him to miss both of the moving gaps. I gotta try it.

Just managed to beat this level myself without hitting the rat, however when I done it, the rat was only just about to fall into the bomb room :)

Yeah, Battletoads is just crazy! Crazy hard, but I still love it.

@MrMoneyMan10 keep in mind that my intention was to show how it can be done without hitting the rat but that could work.

I actually beat the Rat (numerous times) without hitting it back on the NES. Only way I could beat the stage back then...
This is japanese version! The rat moves slower.
1:00 Wow, that was close! :O
You sir, are better at Battletoads than Pcull.
@VyseOfLegends9001 I'm pretty sure the reason there's a dislike is because this race is so dang hard!
@8sblack Thanks man! Although Pcull is still really good, he could still win the race.
@TheEd7797 hahaha, that just made my day right there! :)
i just completed and uploaded both clinger winger and this and holy balls was it hard
good reflexes or good memory, and of course GOOD LUCK!
what is the success rate for this? i amit it is really good you can keep up with the rat ,but the end is freakin close!
1:04 Pretty sure that would be PCULL's reaction when he sees this.
