    Fish are fun on the small days! Even on bigger days when you just want to mess around. 🏄

    With the repair you were making, depending on the plastic used in the mount, you might get better strength by filling that cavity around the screw with epoxy. Superglue only works in repairs where it's a microscopic layer between two pieces that match perfectly, and some plastics don't like it at all.
    Showing my ignorance, when I saw the video title I thought we were going to see a new hybrid *fish* native to Costa Rica. Little knowing that it wasn't a fish at all. Duh...
    I can talk all day about tunnels and channeling, and length versus your own weight as it relates to competition water skis, but when it comes to surfboards, my cat knows about as much about them as I do. LOL
    Fascinating video!

      Yah, thanks for the tips. we were going to add epoxy tomorrow. Yah its funny how lifestyle sports like surfing, skiing, biking all have languages of their own

    Super glue and braided fishing line works well together for a super strong bond also add a little baking soda for even stronger bond

    What do I do when I want to go surfing when on my period. I'm afraid of sharks getting attracted to me, and biting my vagina. Any help?

    hi Guys. I have a problem, when I catch an unbroken wave I feel as if I'm going to fast to do a pop up. This is on about a 5 foot wave. my friend says I should paddle at a 45 degree angle to the wave. Any thought's?

    • @ejdy8
      @ejdy8 8 років тому +1

      Just learn how to pop up fast. Do pop up as fast as you can and everything will be fine. Dont let your head think about it too much. Do it fast ! :)

    • @TamaDaLegend

      You just should pop up faster, before you go down the line.

    Hey im 13, 4'7" and i weigh 75 pounds, I have a 5'7" hybrid fish board and I have never gone surfing before, is that a good board to learn on (I dont want to learn on a longboard).

    • @henrya1347
      @henrya1347 8 років тому

      That's probably a bit to big for a person your size if your going to do airs and all that but it's good for beginners

    • @surfcoaches
      @surfcoaches  8 років тому

      For you very first couple of sessions go with a bigger board get the basics down then drop down to your hybrid fish, 1 foot bigger is good size.

    Hey I want to learn how to surf but the waves here in florida are kind of small. I was looking into a board by catch surf called the stump because they say it is fun for small waves. Any suggestions?

    • @surfcoaches
      @surfcoaches  8 років тому

      Not familiar with that model. I will have to go take a look online

    • @Vreugdetoeter
      @Vreugdetoeter 8 років тому

      if you are just starting out and the waves are weak, i should go for a longboard. longboards are awesome to learn on, and they will stay in your quiver forever, since they are still amazing on small clean spring days as you progress.

    • @ElColombiano1999

      +Jasper van Loo alright thanks!

    • @Vreugdetoeter
      @Vreugdetoeter 8 років тому

      Andres Larrota and once you mastered your longboard, you can progress to a bigger groveler style board to shred it up!

    Dumb question, why do shortboards always have a pointy nose as it seems potentially more dangerous than a slightly rounded one?

    • @saadikali2744
      @saadikali2744 7 років тому +6

      Susan Overson so it can carve fast and go through the water faster

    • @krumbzii6629
      @krumbzii6629 6 років тому

      Susan Overson its more high performance with a pointed nose

    im into surf life the endless summer bc im a hippy ✌... anyway how important is longboard size? can anyone just hop on a 9 footer and be alright?

    • @hellaflygames788
      @hellaflygames788 8 років тому +1

      its all personally prefernce, 9 is a good area. 10 is a lot of board and 8 is a little harder too catch waves on. I would just try all of them and start with 9. Ive never tried a 10 but i have tried 9 2 and 8 foot and i prefer the 9 2 performance longboard

    I'm about to buy a hybrid fish as my first board, I hope it's a good choice, I weigh 187lbs, I am 5'10, the board is 6'6 / 20 3/4 inches/ 2 3/4 inches with 39.1L of volume

    • @brookies1910
      @brookies1910 8 років тому

      I'm going to go for about 3 - 5 more lessons on the longboard first, then I'll use my new one, does this sound like a good plan?

    • @Matzes
      @Matzes 8 років тому

      Kyle Brooks depends on your surf experience level. seeing as you are still taking surfing lessons weighing close to 200 pounds, i would say its a bit on the shorter end of the volume spectrum. maybe go for a few liters more

    • @jaketheripper7385
      @jaketheripper7385 8 років тому

      Kyle Brooks Yeah man since you're still kinda new and heavier, I'd definitely say you need a bit more oomph. I remember getting my dad out for his first time on my Hybrid (didn't have my long with us at the time) and he's 6 foot 225 lbs. He didn't catch a single wave and could barely stay on the thing, and my Hybrid is technically rated for 50 more lbs than I weigh.

    so the only downside to a fish is that you cant duckdive it as easily? Arent there any other downsides?

    • @Vreugdetoeter
      @Vreugdetoeter 8 років тому +1

      due to low rocker, it tends to nosedive more often on steep drops. also, it tends to be less responsive if you oversize these, compared to your shortboard, because the rails are a lot fuller, and the board is wider. usually, this will compensated with quite a pronounced V in the tail and and sometimes in the nose, so the board will be going rail to rail easier, and fishes/hybrids/grovelers are also shorter then your standard shortboard, which adds to more manoeuvrability as well.
