Great video. Just wanted to point out the re-recording is a carry over term from the days when the mix was actually recorded back onto the film strip/reel. Technically we haven’t been doing that process for decades now. You’re explanation was nice for 2024 though ✊🏾
"Be patient and persistent". This is encouraging to me as it speaks to being realistic about how long it may take to achieve success. It wont be overnight. And, I like the emphasis on how you personally change and who you become as a result of the journey, not just the accomplishment of the goal. I value personal growth tremendously, too.
Love it! It’s crucial to take on this kind of mindset or else that lack of patience could turn into expectation and ultimate dissolve any passion we have for our goals and aspirations. Thanks for the support and thank you for taking time to watch and comment!
Hey friend, I've been mixing shows and movies within the dubbing industry for about a decade and now I am wanting to jump into working on original productions. Works I have done are on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Max, Etc. Some works I only participated in dialogue/sync, while others were full mixes in 2.0 and 5.1 formats. Would you say there are other jobs underneath the re-recording mixer that you would recommend getting into to? Or should I connect with people and sell myself as a re-recording mixer right away? I have yet to work with any formats above 5.1 surround. Could you point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Well, I am gald you are here. I hope I can share some stuff that can be helpful. Sound like you have some mixing experience and that that is the goal. Keep mixing! Mix whatever you can get your hands on and build a ton of relationships. Remember, it's all about who you know but more importantly, who knows you! Thanks for watching!
