Great film! Thanks! Missed The Pike but made POP in Santa Monica. Lol, Lil' Chick uses hand signals while riding car... as you're taught to do. I used hand signals the other day while bicycling and got laughed at. My point is that this film drives home how much things have changed. A real service- Thanks
My first visit to the Pike was with my father on the weekend that they closed the cyclone racer. I was very young and was too scared to go on it. Years later, I visited after they had closed down and took photos of the decaying buildings. I even walked around inside the old dark rides.
1:26 Remember that one! But why do adults want to terrorize kids with those evil Haunted house contraptions?! My mom took me to the pike many times in the early 70s it was pretty empty but still fun. Thanks and RIP Mom ✨
I remember the Laff in the Dark ride, Round up, The Rotor, Tilt and Whirl, sky ride, bumper cars, the small roller coaster, room of mirrors back in '73. It's weird and sad, how it went 6 decades and they slowly dismantled it in the 70s and let it crumble with bad security
We used to go to the Pike in the 60's. I was about the age of those kidx. I remember the chimp band! Thanks for posting.

Where did you find this video ?
old family films. the girl in blue is my mom. better preserved online than in a box in the basement.
Those kids featured are still alive ?
it's possible they would probably be in their 70s now
