Had to laugh at your Google search started with “where to buy toilet paper” clearly this video was during the great covid TP rush of 2020. Thanks for sharing these- very helpful.
The lime primers aren't intended to cover previous paint colors. They can with multiple layers but its cheaper to coat with a cheap acrylic primer to conceal the previous color, then apply the limewash primer.
Wonderful! I, like you, had always wondered where that look came from. I thought it was just from the wall weathering and being old and how the paint decayed over time but alas, it can be imitated. Fantastic!
Thank you! The color is Persimmon... as you'll see from the website, there is some difference between the digital color and the wall color, but pretty nonetheless
Amazing video! I did 2 coats of paint and I'm not seeing the texture that I was expecting. If I do another coat, I'm afraid it will lose even more texture. Any advice?
I went to purchase limewash from Bauwerk and it asks for type of wall. I plan to put it on new primed drywall - but that is not an option. Can you tell me which wall option you selected from their dropdown options?
It came out very nice. Thanks for posting! Would you please explain what 'Bauwerk' supplies are needed to re-create this look? Because it appears that you've got more than just some primer & a qt of limewash paint there...looks more like a couple gallons and perhaps some primer and something else...But I can't see the labels clearly enough in your video. Thanks!
Hi, What size can of lime-wash did you get for this project? Was it enough or did you have leftover paint once you finished this wall? I am looking to do a small wall and wondering if I could get away with getting the sample size can. Thanks!
Hi ! I love this ! But do you have to order the product from Germany or Australia? Any chance that you might become a distributor? Overseas shipping is cost prohibitive for me.
You'd want to prime it with lime wash primer. The wall should be white, because the lime wash is semi transparent, so any color underneath will show through
Did you have this shipped to America? I didn’t see USA as an option on their website, which is a bummer. Yours came out great, I’d love to try it myself
Hi Brittany, the primer ensures that the color will appear true and proper in its pigment, it also adds a grit and toothy-ness to it to ensure the limewash paint adheres to it well.
carmie011 that’s a great question, I don’t know... I’m actually about to paint a wall with 5 month old paint, so I’ll let you know what I find. I imagine that if it’s stored in favorable conditions it should last years
Absolutely, I think it looks best on walls with texture because it gives it a natural contrast and contour to play with... I would still recommend applying a prep coat layer though.
This one is called Persimmon. I honestly thought it was going to have a slightly more orange/pink hue, but it ended up in the more maroon world... I still like it, but next time, I'll order the color cards to get a more accurate read than the website.
Mt. Washington Weekend Project I really like it as well but you have to be so careful with these paints as they end up looking nothing like what’s on the swatch cards. I sent your video to Bauwerk and they told me it was Cinnabar
Mt. Washington Weekend Project I will do this time. I’ve used it on 3 jobs now and it came out completely different every time. I’ve just done a wall in my bedroom in Hogweed which on the swatch looks a greeny grey. In reality it a dark brown. I’ve got to paint over it. Problem is the tester pots are so expensive. Well they are here in the UK anyway
Hey thank you for your video. It looks very cool. But this kind of paint is not available in our country. Can you please share if there is any method to prepare the paint at home ? Please can you reply ?
You definitely can create the paint yourself, using limestone, color pigmentation and water. I have never done it personally, but I'm interested to see how it comes together.
@@MtWashingtonWeekendProject Hey ! Thanks for your prompt reply. We have built our farmhouse of Laterite stone which is a sedimentary rock. I am looking forward to paint the interiors using natural colours with lime. But I needed some proper guidance. Well I will have to search more. 🙂
@@kunalkulkarni542 did you find the recipe? in my country there is no this paint either, so I'm looking for a manual for making my own paint. write contacts if you have something to answer (instagram, whatsapp and so on)
Love how this turned out. Thanks for speaking about the brand because I was struggling to find an online store to purchase from!

Haha. Such a clear marker in history.

color atelier does this limewash paint as well. They also do plaster Tadelakt, which is equally amazing.
I just discovered your channel when i searched for limewash. Thanks for this video, you inspire me to paint my room with limewash. great content!

Really helpful, thank you. My colour card samples from Bauwerk arrive tomorrow & it's great to see you having a go, it gives me confidence :)
Good luck! You're gonna love it
Would love to see how your bedroom turned out
Beautiful! I love it. Thank you for sharing.
So satisfying to watch. You earned the beer, Mr. Mt. Washington!
Your video is very helpful . I absolutely love the colour you applied here. Can you please share the name of this colour. Thank you
Beautiful! What color did you use? Love your tutorials. They are so inspiring and informative. Thank you!
Very beautiful results. Thanks for sharing. Did u sealed the wall as well? May I ask what exactly did u used?
Looks stunning! What color is this? Please share the bedroom wall color as well!

Great job! I make my own chalk paint, so I'll definitely be trying to make this as well!! And kudos for not being that guy who has all white walls:}
Good luck making it! I'm uploading a video of my first "Limewash from scratch" video shortly
Cool, have you heard of or looked into JH Wall Paints?
Thank you so much...Does the lime wash will stick our clothes after drying? Shall we need to mix primer with limewash? Please reply
Thanks! Your wall looks awesome!
What was the colour please?
Awesome!! Why didn’t you use the clay finish at the end? Just curious
Try Portola Paints & Glazes based in California
I went to purchase limewash from Bauwerk and it asks for type of wall. I plan to put it on new primed drywall - but that is not an option. Can you tell me which wall option you selected from their dropdown options?
Traditionally, those areas mentioned are plastered surfaces, while limewash is a faux finish that mimics traditional plaster applications.
hi how do you seal the lime wash after application so it doesn't stand your clothes when you lean on it? is there any way?
How can you subscribe to a channel twice?
Great video!!! Looks awesome, and I'm so going to try this!!

Hi Jena! Those other cans were just different colors that I bought from them! All you need is the primer and the limewash!
Hi, What size can of lime-wash did you get for this project? Was it enough or did you have leftover paint once you finished this wall? I am looking to do a small wall and wondering if I could get away with getting the sample size can. Thanks!
Hi there! I bought 1 liter for this particular wall... and I did have a little leftover. Enough to paint a terra cotta planter pot if desired :)
Hi ! I love this ! But do you have to order the product from Germany or Australia? Any chance that you might become a distributor? Overseas shipping is cost prohibitive for me.
This was so informative. Thank you so much!
Did you mix the paint with water? If so what was your ratio
I did not. If you buy from Bauwerk it is already pre mixed and ready to paint, you just need to stir it before and during use.
Could you use this on drywall thats already been painted?
You'd want to prime it with lime wash primer. The wall should be white, because the lime wash is semi transparent, so any color underneath will show through
Mt. Washington Kentucky by a chance?
Neately done certainly gonna try this
Did you have this shipped to America? I didn’t see USA as an option on their website, which is a bummer. Yours came out great, I’d love to try it myself
I did, I've had it shipped here twice now. You should be able to ship to the USA from their website.
Looks beautiful!!
Thank you!
Your cute 🫠 thank you for the help
Hi! Do you have to use a primer with this paint company? My drywall is already the color white
Hi Rebecca, yeah, you definitely need to prime it with proper lime wash primer, otherwise the paint doesn’t adhere properly and will look streaky
Great video! im definitely going to try this out. Question , what is that little Bauwerk jar next to the Colour quart in the ending of the video??
Hi Soni, it's a color sample. Their smallest amount available
Thank you! This is very helpful! Was your primer the same as "Lime Wash Prep-Coat" on the website?
It was the prep coat :)
Do you have to use primer?
Hi Brittany, the primer ensures that the color will appear true and proper in its pigment, it also adds a grit and toothy-ness to it to ensure the limewash paint adheres to it well.
it is sooo beautiful!
Was this a paid advertisement? Not an accusation, just an honest question.
