    Parcour! I almost spit out my coffee, hahaha. You know I love Tour St Jacques. Absolutely fantastic apartment location. The Vossice! Nice! So very generous of the Vosses, and congratulations to John for retirement.
    Thanks Jay for my Paris fix.
    Cheers! 😎

    That apt is GORGEOUS 😍
    And the accessibility to everything! Fantastic! That would be a wonderful place to live. I bet it's expensive too.😅

    Aaah the one time I've been to Paris this was my stomping grounds! I stayed across from Forum des Halles, and the space invader on that old monumental fountain was the first I ever found 🥰 Love the ugly ole Pompidou Centre - could see it from my bedroom, overlooking the rooftops. And I walked past that tower you can see from the apartment many times, just loved it. 😍 Man I gotta go back.

    What a fabulous apartment. So sad to see you have to leave it. Cheers to the Voss (spelling) family, from my neck of the woods, to allow you to use the space. Thanks for the tour of the neighborhood and space, Jay!

    That apartment is lovely! When we lived in Rennes, we had the largest place-80 sq m-so we hosted quite a few events including Thanksgiving for 37 people. We had some friends with a 30 sq m place and they had wonderful parties. Take care and be safe!

    Wow Jay , my wife and I watched your videos and planned our trip to Paris for our 5 year anniversary. We always wondered when we were there if we would have seen you. We stayed at Hotel Le presbytere which is right around the corner from this place. We were there in feb29th to march 4th 2020. When we left france on the 10th we were on the last plane to the US before Europe was closed off. Love your stuff, and have watched your videos for 2 years and followed some of your advice on places when we were there!

    I'm currently reading Le Ventre de Paris by Zola, which is about Les Halles. Two of the main characters own a charcuterie on Rue Rambuteau, so it was very cool seeing you walk around that area. In the old Halles there was a part underground where they kept live animals and where they butchered the animals that lived there and the animals that were brought in from outside of Paris. I guess a shopping mall is more hygienic.

    Fun fact: Tour Saint Jacques is the starting point of the Chemin de Paris and has an abundance of significance for pilgrims back in the day and today.

    My first trip to Paris in 2012 was a month in Le Marais (Rue des Rosiers, next to Finkelstein's and L’As du Fallafel) and I loved that little park with the tower! And Pompidou is one of my favorite buildings to visit.Great permanent collections as well.

    I think it was very nice of the Voss family to let you use the apt. this past year. I looked up the tour and found that it is within two blocks of a small hotel I stayed at on my very first trip to Paris long ago. On my most recent trip I stayed fairly close to the Gare de Lyon. I seem to like that corner of Paris. Looking forward to hearing more about your various projects in the works.

    Love Tour St Jacques. Still remember that video you did of climbing to the top of it. Until you did that video I had no idea that it was ever open to the public at all and I used to live on rue des Lombards near it. As for the fountain des Innocents....I remember it mainly because it had a fabulous ice cream place that faced it. Wonder if it's still there. Used to love sitting at the Stravinsky fountain behind the Pompidou. Fun to see the area again.

    This was a confusing video, so thanks for keeping me on my toes! Ah HA! That's what he has been keeping a secret. He has a new office! Score! Fantastic location! Wait, what? It's the Voss's! I have seen this apartment. I don't understand. He retired so you can return to the apartment? And the company bought it? That doesn't even make sense. Well, maybe John had cut a sweet deal with his company. Like a model or actress who gets to keep the clothes after the job is done. Because not even a BAD company would forget that they had an apartment in Paris in the fourth on the first. Wait, you are LEAVING?!? I thought you already did. I just figured you got special permission when Kate had plumbing issues. Well, this explains 73 of the questions created earlier on this video. And now I have a headache. But I am mostly no longer confused. That apartment would be great when it is not during a pandemic. I would have spent more time than I had at the window and at the corner people watching. But I do that vicariously through you and your videos. Thanks!
    Part of me doesn't want to know how much that apartment would be worth and part of me does. And they may not even be selling the place but keeping it for the next guy. I sure hope John retired because that had always been the plan and that the pandemic did not push it forward. Though if HE is happy and YOU are happy then I am happy.
    Thanks Jay!

      @thedavidguy01 3 роки тому +3

      I was curious too, so I looked at apartments for rent and for sale in that area. Rental was 2500 - 3500€ per month and prices to buy were around 1 000 000€. Of course, you'd have to know more information to get a more accurate price.

      Somewhere around 13-16k€ per square meter given the location and view. To rent, prices have now been capped by the city government depending on the neighbourhood, so I would say about 30-35€ per square meter and per month, excl. utilities.
