Mariah and the Lieutenant were sorority sisters in Delta Sigma Theta, which is an historical black sorority and the elephants in Mariah's home represents the sorority
I think the reason for misty's mental break was because she's always used to being in control but with her partners betrayal and death and all the L's she's been taking left and right. Then to top it off with being the victim and having lost all self control, dignity and power she had left when diamondback had her on her knees. I personally found her freak out to be stupid but understandable. Which creates room for her to grow as a character
I loved the reference from The Warriors (1979) movie. From Cyrus' "Can you Dig it!" line and Luther's "Warriors (Carl), Come out to Play!". Diamondback just needed some beer bottles on his fingers to click together and it would be perfect! xD
I think Misty flipped out on Claire because she just survived having her gun taken from her, and having her life in the hands of a madman. She's trying to recover from her sense of powerlessness by bullying someone physically weaker than her.
Imo, Diamondback is a PERFECT villain for Luke. Luke is a lot better when he's fighting personal battles than when he's fighting a general villain. Don't get me wrong, Cottonmouth was an awesome villain, and I loved that role, but Diamondback is just damn intimidating. He's scary, for one, and the cheesy deliveries are so much better with his character because you can tell he means what he says. I love this entire season as a whole, and there's never really a time when it goes downhill. Just my opinion, but I do believe Diamondback was a perfect villain for Luke Cage.
Shades isn't "littlefinger'ing" Mariah at all; growing up under Mama Mabel she's seen things just as sinister as what Shades can insinuate. To me it was more like Shades was merely checking to see if shes thinking the same as he is. She's smart enough to think ahead a couple of steps so its like not Shades puts the idea of killing the waitress'' whole apartment into her head its something she had to have considered the moment the waitress was brought in for questioning. Mariah's already killed her own cousin whom she partially raised herself so she's embracing her sinister side now. She always had the knowledge but pretended to be better than Mama Mabel raised her. Shades was just fishing for a confirmation of her tactics.
I want to see the relationship between diamondback and Luke because in the comics these guys were best friends then they had a fallen out and in the comics diamondback killed Rita.
I think Misty was "out of character" because of all the building crap she's had to deal with. Confused by her partner's betrayal, made helpless by Diamondback and then losing an easy case and watching it slip through her fingers... she just lost it...
After last episode I remembered this one really confused. Misty turning violent to a civilian, probably having not given Miranda or at least not cleanly following procedure, seems more like trying too hard to make a point, about... PTSD? People's impulse to use violence to compensate weakness or vulnerability? This is what Amy Adams's statement re character serving the story V story and character serving each other was about. We don't use dots after V anymore. But if you have an interpretation that satisfies you, please share.
1. Daredevil Season 2 (fucking PUNISHER! first 4 episodes is fucking masterpiece!) 2. Daredevil Season 1 (it was mind-blowing when it first came. Amazing Fisk, finally well-written villain in Marvel. Not in the 1st place just because 2nd season has Punisher) 3. Jessica Jones (exceptional Killgrave, the best villain, but everything else pretty much meh) 4. Luke Cage (love music but overall boring, watched only 9 episodes though)
I've got mixed opinions on the later half of season 1 overall, but Mariah and Shades are a bright spot for me. Gonna try not to spoil anything, but I think you guys have read them slightly wrong, and you'll get more insight later. While Cottonmouth turned out flawed, Shades sees great potential in Mariah. He's nudging her on to bring her true "inner Mabel" out.
I'm a simple man, I see a blind wave vid, I press like, also are you guys gonna react to the new Logan trailer and the new power rangers movie trailer?
This series is WAY too underrated. I tried to stay away from this series because I listened to a bunch of naysayers, it seems. I was pleasantly surprised when I started watching. I'll admit, I wasn't sold right away but, if you stick with it, it's more than worth it. The story evolving later on with Diamondback makes it even better. This is definitely a favorite for me
Thanks for reacting.. I stop watching after Cottenmouth dead, didn't enjoy much until then and he was one of the main reasons to keep me going, without him the story became disinteresting.
-Luke, I'm your brother!
-Nooooo! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Darth Vader - "No, I am your father."
Diamondback - "Nigguh, I am yo brotha."
xD xD xD

Exactly 👏🏽💯

Rick Grimes: "Carl!!"
Diamondback: "Carl!"
I don't care what anyone thinks, I love this ending. It's so cheesy that it's absolutely awesome.
Vilkku agreed
For me shades is my favourite character. He is so well written and the way the actor plays him is outstanding.

Your face as you contemplate what you just said was priceless lmao
I want to see the relationship between diamondback and Luke because in the comics these guys were best friends then they had a fallen out and in the comics diamondback killed Rita.
Yeah, Shades is basically Littlefinger. Best character.
11:30 spot on Tim "the toolman" Taylor impression.

Katie Stubbs ok thanks
I don't know how I feel about luke cage. Some things work and some things dont work for me. Idk
This is the episode that really turned me off
Hufflepuffed good for you
Thank you
Yeah me too, this show is definitely the weakest out of the marvel netflix shows so far.
Same here, the show kinda went downhill from this point
snapgab For me JJ was the weakest because it started to drag on
Thanks for reacting.. I stop watching after Cottenmouth dead, didn't enjoy much until then and he was one of the main reasons to keep me going, without him the story became disinteresting.
For me, this show started to fail once Cottonmouth was killed. He was a far better villain than Diamondback, who came off as a common thug.
one thing I hate about this show is that they keep saying the n word, like its so stupid
what
Yeah but they were just being true to life tho
A lot of black people ( and other people) say it like its normal , it's just how it is , especially in Harlem .
Carlos Carson well then you better tell that to black people in public
In these type of communities that is just how it is. So they are basing it off real life.
