    It looks really nice, but you said it has really long gears.. Mixed with a 4cyl.. I guess fuel economy is pretty good for a Porsche. They should make an N/a gt4 flat6 718

      Thanks for the comment. Yes, fuel economy is what this car is all about. It was a priority for Porsche...but some tests show that the fuel consumption is not as great as you would expect!

    Should have been a 2 litre turbo 6 cylinder. What's next, an electric version. Porsche has been making a lot of strange calls with automatics, limited productions runs and turbo engines. The company seems to be making cars that support the general sales numbers and not the cars that enthusiasts want to drive. If they want better fuel economy, maybe they should re think their gas guzzling turbo V8 SUV's.

      Please stop resisting the inevitable, it's futile. The 718 outperforms its predecessor in every way that matters (engine sound may make the driver 'feel' a certain way, but it does nothing to make the car perform better). A small, lightweight car like the 718 doesn't need 6 cylinders to perform amazingly well, as we can clearly see with these new models.
      Also, do you really think Porsche will stop producing the cars that people buy in the highest numbers and earn the lion's share of their profits? Fact is, the Cayenne and Macan are Porsche's most profitable models and are the reason they've been able to continue to develop such amazing sports cars. The company was almost bankrupt before the Cayenne saved them. Be careful what you wish for.

    Junk probably only direct injection and not disi injection having both port and direct injection so it will fail like fords 4 cylinder ecoboost. All ecoboost was junk only resolving v6 in 2017 but all 4 cylinders made only direct injection making it fail around 100k

    total sales pitch it looks the same on the inside as the 981, it drives a bit better but sounds like total shit. paying more for a less enjoyable car with a cheap turbo charged engine, that in the long run will cost you twice as much to repair and spending more money on gas, yeah souds great 😂.

      Did you miss the part where this car performs *better* than the 981 version in every way? When he said it was less enjoyable, he was comparing it to the GT4, stupidly in my opinion, because those two should never be compared, as they're completely different cars. In any case, if you choose to obsess about the number of cylinders and not the performance, that's your loss, and it's rather foolish considering how great the 718 S version is. Also, there is absolutely no evidence that these cars will require any more maintenance than the 981, none. Trust me, Porsche customers will happily buy a ton of 718s because most people focus on what matters...performance.
      Just wait 20 years and see how many supercars still have a V8 or larger. The era of big displacement, gas guzzling engines is ending, so you may as well get use to it.

      D LG well said ! And to add a little taste Porsche are extremely reliable. So much that insurance companies won't charge you a lot of money for it . in instance an insured 911 comes around 180

    A 4-cylinder engine alone doesn't disqualify this car. It's still dominating its class, and is one of the best handling cars in the world.

      Amen. Not to forget, Porsche was once upon a time a flat 4 beast and it still is.

    What are must have options?

    • @zee00717
      @zee00717 8 років тому

      There are a few things I think it needs to have. The Sport Chrono is a nice package, the BOSE option is also great. Other than that it is fairly well equipped. Personal preference means I would spec the larger Turbo wheels that are on the car in the video.

      The boxster cayman was introduced with a flat 6, not a 4.

    • @Otaner142
      @Otaner142 7 років тому

      Nonya Business but it originally back in the years the 718 was raced with a booster engine. That's how the 718 was meant to be, not with a flat 6
